You know it’s an older hotel that has been maintained and really is just a lovely place to stay in. Ironically, we walked in to see Santa last night, which was a huge plus.

Pleasant place with easy parking. The room was small with no view but a great price. The gentleman working the check out desk had no information about breakfast options - even the breakfast in the hotel. I felt we were interlopers on a larger group.

Except for the rain on Sunday,This stay was most enjoyable.
Staff were outstanding and most accommodating.
The lake view king great.
We were concerned about how the lake area fared during the storm, and the community’s efforts resulted in a picturesque view minus some tree.
Look forward to our next time.

Very unique property

Place is large and front desk gave us a room facing the a/c units and not the lake. This really was the only reason I booked this inn.
Also, absolutely no food or beverage options at the inn, not even coffee in the morning.

The property sits on a hill looking down the lake which is great, but my room was looking down the ac units and working vans in cubby back yard. The building is old and seems the hotel makes effort to upkeep as to new furniture and decent bedding. However, the bathroom was small and no ventilation fan was working, which it makes humid and feel throughout the hall way. Flooring carpets seems getting old and dark. The refrigerator is working fine, but the phone and alarm clock by the bed seems to be a showing, it doesn’t work. I will check other hotel in next time.

Property needs to be updated room by room. Smells like an old property. Not the worst place to stay but needs to be updated and cleaned inside and out.

Well, I sorta felt like I was staying at the hotel in The Shining. There may have been two other guests there the night we stayed. For a hotel of 200 or so rooms, looks like I was the only one who didn’t do my homework. Think the kind gals who worked up front had a weekly allotment of Mountain Dew to keep from falling asleep. I’m sure this place was something else in its heyday, but that’s obviously passed. Would have been nice to have a coffee maker in the room and AC that consistently worked.

The hotel condition was fine. The room was and bathroom was small. My biggest complaint was there were NO outlets for use in the room that weren’t in use or that we were able to get to. It made recharging inconvenient ( had to plug use an outlet in the bathroom) and since there was no place to plug by the bed it made it impossible to use my cpap machine. I know it’s a historic hotel but some upgrades are necessities in 2024.

It’s like walking into past. Large areas for sitting groups of friends and lots of old hotel ambience. Rooms were comfortable and clean. Location is easily with 30 minutes of Cherokee, Maggie valley and surrounding areas.

Very beautiful decorated for Christmas. The staff was very helpful when the hotel I had booked had closed. Even with computer problems they were nice and offered to let us change clothes so we would not miss our concert. We got lucky and were given a room just in time. I will book his hotel again if I am every in the area.

Hotel is old and unappealing. There was no signage and we were unsure we were even at the right place. Front desk clerk has the energy of a rotten tomatoe...Our room, upon entering, was freezing and took nearly 3hrs to warm up (Temp was in the 30s outside). Appears riom hasnt been used in days. Phone was unplugged and bedside light was flickering off and on. Following cord, it was plugged right behind the head of the mattress. It was plugged into a three way that was plugged into the socket. The pressure from the mattress was bending the cord and making it flicker. FIRE HARAZD. Tv was a 32 plasma tv and for 155 a night was thoroughly pissed off. Decor was old, cobb webbs and dead spiders in the window sill and floor. Room is small and i dint know who gave this place good ratings? Must be them old heads of the staff. Either was, this place was depressing.

The front desk clerk was on training and was left alone to deal with customers. Since the cleaning crew left and didn’t finish cleaning all the rooms we had to change from the original room and was given a room with double bed instead of a king. The first room that was given to us was old, smelly, the furniture looked like it was going to fell apart. It needs a good renovation. The ac unit was loud and the room had a view on another hotel room.
I couldn’t believe they were changing $200 for a night. So we went back to the front desk and requested another one. we were finally given a room which looked like the pictures they have online. I will not recommend this establishment. I will give 5 stars to the front desk gentleman who helped us.

Check in was very slow because only one staff member at the front desk and there was a line. Probably took about 20 minutes. Property is gorgeous, just like heaven!

This place is a solid three it’s in a bit in disrepair. It’s a little old and tired. The staff were nice, and the view can be pleasant.

Loved the Inn's atmosphere inside &out. The decor, the many quiet seating areas. Kerig in the room os ok but in not a fan of that coffee
so for me the morning coffee station & out tea at night was a plus for me. We will stayvagain but splurge for the lake view. I loved it.

Outside definitely needs a good cleaning and maintenance. Staff unhelpful and power outage at night with no storm
