First all we did not slept there, we did not wanted to risk our health or infect our house upon return. When we arrived at the room, i went to the bathroom, toilet paper roll was almost empty, when i reached under the sink, the TP roll was stuck to the bottom of the cabinet, i pulled it and a dozen of cockroaches fled from it, the roll is full of bug eggs. Upon better examination, there was 2 other toilet paper roll above the sink on a shelve near the light, this tells me the owner knows about this issue.
I called them around 6:30 PM, the manager was not there, told me i would receive a call back same day and at 11:30 pm i decided to drive back to MTL overnight. I tried to speak to a manager for 2 weeks and he was never available even when i called back at the time they told me to call back.
I was never able to get a full refund, they offered 25%... its insulting! There was dust and hair behind the toilet, i squashed 1 of the cockroaches, there has been some water damage and never properly cleaned it.
This was the dirtiest rental i've had in my lifetime, i can't believe they rent this, that place is to avoid completely.
note: this was an appartment rental.
I would give minus stars if i could, they should not be allowed to rent and have an hotel license. There was a time where Hotel.com would only get good stays buts it looks they do not filter anymore!

Very bad experience
Very pathetic rooms , never recommend anyone to stay even if you are looking for a cheaper price

First time staying in a hostel. Staff were very helpful. Liked having the option of being able to have a female only room. Felt safe and was able to come and go as I pleased. Lovely deck roof area too

Was extremely disappointing, I am used to much better experience when I book with hotel.com unfortunately this wasn’t one of them, For several reasons from checking in to checking out, it was near complete disaster, but I’ll live through it and making sure I never choose that particular property ever again…

The people living in was the best, as udual with hostels. The place is adequate to crash in for a night or two, but not gor more than that, it is not maintained at all. Wether someone will open the door during the checking times is a hit or miss

Having staff let me back into the building is problematic. Wish to get 24 hour access without having to pay extra
2.0
unsanitary conditions. homeless people can live in the rooms. The condition of the premises is like after the war. if you want to have a normal time in this city, pay extra for a more expensive room

I wouldn’t say it was dirty but it’s grubby. Showers leave a lot to be desired. A lot of DYI jobs around the hostel that are not done right.

Went here for a temporary stay between travel plans and was there with a close friend I wanted to be intimate with and rest with before our next leg of travel. The accommodations were awful, the state of the building was derelict, and the "private" room was thin-walled and contained only frosted windows on their doors, of all things. I do not recommend this place at all. The staff, however, were pleasant. That is about the only good thing I can say about the Parkdale Hostellerie's uncomfortable "private" lodging

Hostel was stinky and dirty. I wasn't comfortable with the stay. Got to pay $15 or so for parking so overall fee isn't worth it. Lucky I only stay for a night. The surrounding neighborhood isn't to bad

disorganised. I had a pretty bad experience with this b & b due to the fact that I had previously rented that place wo we could be close to the venue place we were playing as musicians (important showcase in a festival). Once arrived there, we understood the actual location that we were given was 30 min walk away. We had 30 minutes to get ready - we had a long stretch from Mtl -, I chose this place specifically because it was 11 min walk from the concert venue. In those circumstances, the experience increased my level of stress and we almost didnt make it in time for our show cause they made us loose precious time trying to figure out what went wrong in the reservation. Other than that, staff was nice (seemed overwelmed and maybe lack of formation -maybe a new staff member ? - and the place we were redirected at was a fair deal for the price in clean enough but the stairs were so dirty : like nobody had clean them for 10 years with bird feathers, dirt, dust.. If you are not scared of disorganisation and relax, it might do it for you but if you need a professionnal and safe reservation and that you have pressure already and important mission to accomplish in your stay i would avoid this place.

The staffs were so kind and great. It was good to be close to the streetcar stop from the hostel.

Pretty nice and very cheap. Not nearly as sketchy as I thought it was

Had to stay a couple weeks as an emergency. First started in the ladies dorm, I didn't find the bathrooms/showers very tidy. The moved to the big co-ed dorms. Bathrooms and showers there much better. I also didn't feel uncomfortable leaving my items in the room.
Never had an issue w staff, all were very helpful and accommodating
It gets messy because honestly it's sharing with so many different people going through things. Kitchen always full but was very homely. It's fine for staying one night if you're on a budget. I stayed for about 2.5weeks and had little to no complaints. I would stay again if I needed to stay for a week or so in Toronto because it is near the express transit to line 2 and can take the street car to downtown which is very convenient.

You get what you pay for, but you can't beat the price to be right on Queen Street.

It was fine but when I arrived at 12:15 with my luggage and rang the bell no one answered so I couldn’t get in out of the snow and had to find a nearby shop to call from. It was stressful wondering if it was even operating as the sign was missing some letters. Then I could check in early for an additional fee so in all not worth the value. I didn’t like having showers and sinks in a common area but my bed was comfortable enough. It just isn’t in the best area so I didn’t feel safe walking around the neighborhood on my own.

Price is good but 6 beds in one room not what I like

My stay at The Parkdale Hostellerie was overall satisfactory considering the budget-friendly accommodation and shared bathrooms, as expected for a hostel. However, the cleanliness fell short of expectations, with noticeably grimy bathrooms and a dusty room. The affordability of the room somewhat compensates for these drawbacks, but improvements in cleanliness would greatly enhance the overall experience.

My guest and I stayed there and we paid a good amount of money to stay but they turn off their internet between 10:30pm - 11:30pm which was annoying. We even had to ask staff to keep the main door to go to our room closed because the main light in the common area would shine through my room window an if your sleeping the light would be hitting your eyes which was annoying some staff understood but a lot of other staff were making it an issue. Only good thing is the area around the building and they kept the bathrooms and kitchen cleaned. You will have to share the bathrooms and kitchen with other travellers.

We rented an apartment style unit. This ended up being in a different location 11 minutes drive away on Queen Street. This wasn’t a big deal, but a heads up would have been helpful. Decent for what you get and would likely stay again, but don't expect anything fancy.

Place needs a major upgrade. The picture of the property ,via web, doesn't match what the property actually looks like . Never stay there again & I won’t be referring this place to my worst enemy!!
