I haven't been to the Del for over 15 years. I was very impressed with the hotel. The rennovation the hotel did was excellent. The cottages were fabulous. Great view of the ocean and walking distance to the bech and the lovely town of Coronado. My wife and I had a great long weekend. The only downside is no room service since Covid but the town is so close you can walk to restaurants. Lovely weekend at the Del

No room service… room service is everything to me while vacationing. And a lot of renovations going on.. so spa was relocated. Took away from the experience. They should lower spa prices if can’t use a steam room , jacuzzi etc …

We go to The Del for the 'old style' service. This grand and luxurious hotel has always been a wonderful retreat, and we go several times a year. It feels like home. At this time, the true value for ultimate service and hospitality is at Beach Village. If you want a lovely oceanfront hotel, stay in the Victorian building or the Shorehouse. If you want true luxury and service that stands the test of time, you have to stay in the Beach Village. I recommend it very highly.

Everything was good except that the fire alarms on the room where low on battery and the key card to open the room also had a low battery they had to come and fix it while it was almost 9-10 pm

Perfect location to view the sunset. Very convenient location. Our family had a great time. You have to experience the Christmas at the Hotel Del! Christmas at the beach is done best in Coronado, San Diego!

On of the two villas I rented was a two bedroom
The villla didn’t have hot water for both units requiring cold showers to start the morning off
This was repaired later the day. One of the bedrooms never had a working Tv.
It would have been nice to know the complex was under construction and the main pool nearest out villa was closed. Lastly I’d expect room service to be an option which wasn’t

Friendly staff. Online description. Was totally not what I booked. It was not on the water but rather in a complex building of small rooms

We had a wonderful time over Easter weekend. Service was incredible (which has become very hard to come by these days). The only recent stay we've had where service was this good was the St. Regis Bora Bora. Everyone was helpful. Food service was good and fast. The resort was very crowded and yet everything worked like clockwork. Very efficient. We will definitely be back.

Exquisite location, remarkably appointed grounds, overall the maintenance is exceptional. We had one of the Villas with a full kitchen and adjoining room to celebrate a special occasion. The ice maker in the full kitchen side was broken which we reported and never repaired, but we utilized the ice maker from the other room, so no problem for us. Disappointing that they said they would fix it and never did. The kitchen was well stocked and we were able to prepare a fabulous in house brunch the day we left. The beds were super comfy, my only negative was that the towels were dingy and scratchy, which was so confusing to me given the quality of everything else.

Great room, beautiful property, excellent staff. Teens in the adult pool until very late, but that and no room service were the only issues. Otherwise, excellent.

Excellent service! From the valet, who knew our names from day one, to the concierge attending to all of our needs, to the excellent bar tenders who remembered our drinks. . . truly a wonderful experience

So overall the location is great and the beach is well maintained. We stayed in an ocean view room at the beach village, not the suite, just the room with two beds. However for the price that is charged, two things stand out like a sore thumb:
1) You cannot control the air conditioning in your room. There is a unit but it’s controlled by a master switch which is not central but In a master suite ! That is kind of unbelievable.
2) The patio privacy is appalling. All the units in a floor are actually connected. One day, the neighbor’s dog walked from their patio and into our room! Another day , a somewhat intoxicated woman living in a unit 1 over , almost walked across one unit and almost into our unit. If I hadn’t walked out onto our patio , she would have just walked in. Again, inexcusable.

We got the ocean view junior suite with king bed on the second / top floor. Excellent location right next to the beach, clean room, with a cozy fireplace, and private entryway (not shared with any other guests). We loved the balcony and the ocean view. I was disappointed that during COVID, no room service was available and we could not even pre-order our takeout from the hotel restaurants (we were trying to avoid being around people without masks). We had to walk to the hotel restaurants to order and then hover in the area waiting for our food. During our stay, I had to work every day. The ocean view definitely made it easier to work but I had to close the balcony door during all calls because the loud helicopters flying over the beach every 5-15 min made it impossible to carry out a conversation. Overall, it was a relaxing stay.

Obviously the place was nice and clean. For almost $1700 a day I’d expect no less. But for what you get it isn’t worth $1700. It looked and felt like any other hotel. I was very disappointed. They didn’t even have slippers for me. The location was only eh. Looked like the beach was a mile away. Better to just stay at the main hotel not the villa. I’m disappointed on the Hilton brand. They took an iconic hotel and normalized it.

The room is smaller than it appears in the pictures, especially the patio. The hotel was nice but when we called for any help or questions the Customer service was just ok, workers didn’t seem to care much.

One of the best vacations we have taken with our family. Property is immaculate.

Still clothing, toys and laundry from previous guest.
Under staffed and services was like at a motel

We stayed at the Village, and it was good, but we got a room where ocean view was obstructed by trees and were right by the pool so it was noisy. Also rooms are such that you can’t really open windows as people can see into the room from the walkaway. Location is unbeatable, there is a nice round pool, great food, and easy access to the beach. Service was so-so, but probably COVID related. Still, we had issues with parking validation, we did not get any water for hours, did not even get coffee for the coffee maker... personnel was friendly, but very thinly stretched - was impossible to get hold of room service.

The main hotel was under heavy construction, most of which was not mentioned prior to our arrival. Staff also made no mention of beach closures do to toxic waste seepage from Mexico. Something like that should have been made a pertinent fact of discussion upon arrival to hotel. I’m very disappointed to have found out about the toxic water after two days of sitting on the beach with young children!
