Superb ground floor suite overlooking Dalton Square.
Worth the extra payment.

Odd, my room came straight off the street. Felt nervous and lots of noise

We stayed here for a night while visiting family and it’s a great option - friendly staff, amazing room with comfy bed and great shower. Will be back!

A slight problem with the laundry meant that we had to wait until 7.30pm for our bed to be fully made up, however the room was lovely and the homemade shortbread added a nice touch. The bathroom was gorgeous with a big bath plus a walk-in shower.

The Borough is a pub. Accommodation was reasonable. The size of the room was good. minor irritants such as the washhand basin not draining quickly or properly and the shower soap dispenser being poor. The breakfast was excellent and included (inclusion was not mentioned when I booked). Lancaster is a great place to visit.

Stayed in a very new, very well appointed room. The food, drinks, and service at the pub and restaurant were excellent.

The hotel is in a great location in the town and within a minute's stroll of the main street. The room was spotless, with a huge walk in shower. The beds were comfortable, however, they were very narrow, but that wasn't an issue. We'd had a long day and went up to our room to relax at 8 pm. Unfortunately there was a 30th birthday party in the room below us and, however much we tried to ignore the noise, it was impossible to even hear our television. Perhaps the hotel should take that into consideration when putting guests in rooms 8 or 9.

The hotel is well located in the heart of the city, very close to the shopping centre and a ten minute walk from the railway station, but in a nice quiet area. The room I stayed in was spacious, comfortable, warm and clean. The breakfast (which was included in the room rate) was substantial and varied. The best I've had for a very long time. I would certainly stay at the Borough when visiting Lancaster again.

Stayed in the townhouse rooms, very spacious and quiet, lovely bathroom. Couple of little niggles such as worn furniture but nothing to detract from stay. Very large comfortable bed. Breakfast was included which we hadn't realised so that was a bonus. Excellent location for Lancaster.

I loved the feel of the property. It was quaint but modern. The staff were excellent especially Brendan and Kirsty.

The room was very clean and well set out. Too hot on our arrival . Had to turn the radiators off.

Stayed a few times. We had a lovely room in the house next door see you next time we travel through.

We stayed in the Townhouse Luxury suite which is situated in a separate building from the main hotel and accessed from a quiet road to the side.
The room was spacious and nicely decorated, bed was huge and very comfy. The pillows and linens were very nice too.
Bathroom was also spacious and nicely decorated with a very large shower which was lovely, even if the water pressure wasn't great, the temperature was constant.
A full length mirror in the room would have been nice, but otherwise was very happy with our stay.

Very impressed with the size and quality of the room. Very comfortable bed. Great wet room/shower and even a small patio.

Staff were excellent, were able to assist with all queries (even thought they weren't related to the hotel) food was exceptional and had a really pleasant stay. Thankyou x

The staff at the Borough are young and extremely helpful and polite. I would strongly recommend the hotel.it overlooks a beautiful square. The only points I bring to anyones attention are the following; The rooms are up 2( two) flights of stairs.Although the staff carried my luggage.
2. The shower is all marbled walls and floor it looks smart and it was spotlessly clean. But,no Shower matt. So I found it slippery under foot after showering for 2+.,minutes..
It's a £4 taxi tide from Lancaster Station ( Esst Side) or a 12 minute walk through Lancaster, itself.

You'll probably wonder why I'm giving this hotel an excellent review when I actually didn't stay there, but read on. I arrived at The Borough around 7.15pm and tried to check in, unfortunately there had been some confusion and my booking had been entered on the Borough's system on a different night and no rooms were available. However, the duty manager, Holly (who was superb) was extremely apologetic and assured me that she would sort something out, Holly told me to have a free drink while she did. Within minutes she came and explained that she had phoned a hotel just across the Market Square (The Royal) and arranged that I could stay there, she gave me the cash equivalent of my booking to pay at The Royal. Holly then said for my inconvenience I was welcome to have a free evening meal too, which was lovely.
I was staying at The Borough originally as I was delivering some training in their function room the following day. Whilst I was there the whole of the following day, all the staff were amazingly helpful, friendly and attentive.
So to sum up, what could have been a nightmare was dealy with superbly by Holly and the team.

Second time staying on our way to Bristol. Met family eat in restaurant garden. I was a chef. We had 4 brilliant meals. Our room was in the town house. Lovely room downstairs with little courtyard.

Pub was very loud but inviting. Luckily our room was in the building next door with a thick rock wall between. We had a comfortable bed.

Arrived with our dog and allocated room 1 on the ground floor which was enormous. A full sitting room with flatscreen and a fridge. The bedroom was just as large with folding doors to separate the two areas. The bathroom had a shower rather than a bath with a heated towel rail and floor. The provided products were all local and eco friendly. We will definitely come back

The location is very good. The young staff were polite and helpful but the management did not appear to be as engaged. The pub/public areas were ok. The room was nice and clean and the (new) bathroom was good. There are no usb points available in the room so bring your own adaptors!

A little pricey compared to equivalent hotels in the city nearby. A beautiful building but some decor looking a little tired. The room I stayed in was very spacious, however, the mattress was terrible. Possibly the worst hotel bed I've been in for a very long time. It had little support - I suspect it was very old and/or the springs were damaged as it caved in and left me with a strained, lower back.

Initially the property looked and was clean and tidy.Out for an evening meal which for what it was seemed expensive and eventually came out cold! The staff on duty stated breakfast was in within price, so something to look forward to.We searched for the welcome pack containing the wifi access code, after several calls and staff visit to accommodation a pack was brought, unfortunately the only wifi available was to room above so 21:30 we gave up!The wild horses above our room must of been disturbed as through out the night and leaving the property early hours was arendous , the noice coming down the stairs they may as well of been in our room.Out to breakfast, one staff, very slow service to eventually be told breakfast wasn't in the price.Considering we booked for the one night expecting a relaxed stay ,,,, far from it.
