Hotel stay was nice. Our building was hidden. Need some work outside but inside was nice. Would come back.

This place was perfect for two couples who wanted a base for exploring the Black Hills area. We each had our own bedroom and had lots of space to play card games in the evening when we were done exploring. We stayed for 3 nights and really enjoyed it. The breakfasts were great also. We would definitely stay again when in the area.
Somewhere in the information about this place they should explain that you check in next door at the Best Western.( and use their amenities)

The stay was nice. The room could use some love. The carpet was terribly stained and the couch needs to be replaced.

Thank God I had read some Google reviews and you to go to the Best Western next door and at the breakfast would be at the Best Western but they didn't tell me that our room was in the second building in the back and there was no parking near that building took us a few minutes to find the actual room the outside pool needed more water in it and the hot tub was a little yellow and the water was barely flowing.
Room was amazing beds were comfortable lots of pillows lots of towels water pressure was incredible full size kitchen and our sweet but the hide a bed was very uncomfortable and my friends ended up pulling the mattress out and sleeping on the mattress on the floor. Hi to bed felt like it was over 50 years old other than that the room was great and the restaurant next door was the most delicious food I've eaten a long time. Breakfast was amazing at the Best Western next door lots of choices and lots of stuff in the gift shop plus it was only 20 minutes away from Mount Rushmore or in the opposite direction 20 minutes away from Crazy Horse. The most convenient part was that it was halfway between the 2

Check in at the Best Western front desk.
Great place to stay for long stays and you're not wanting to worry about eating out for every meal. The mini kitchen worked great for our family of 5. The rooms could use a bit of updating to modern standards. Make sure to bring anything chargers for USB cables as there is not a single port in the rooms. The pools were great. Indoor and outdoor options .

The luxury apartments we stayed in are nice for the price, but I wouldn't call them "luxury", they are typical of a standard 3-4 star hotel room and they are part of what appears to be an old apartment complex with 2 bedroom apartments that the hotel bought and converted to guest rooms. They are very good rooms for family groups, large and spacious, with a full kitchen and living room. Very nice price/value for the room you get. The free continental breakfast was very good as well. The only problem we had was it not specified clearly that the check-in desk for the suites is located in the Best Western next door so we had to do a little hunting and wound up having to call the hotel front desk to figure that out, but otherwise a very nice lodging experience!

The outside of this property needs serious help. It looked like you could bale hay with the way the grass was cut. There's weeds all over--including in the pool area. The outside pool is pretty gross. The inside one was a little better. Breakfast was very nice although could use a variety instead of the same items every day for people staying multiple days. The ceiling above the air conditioner is caked on with dirt from it blowing up there. The seat cushions in the room are spotted and disgusting. The beds seemed clean and room service brought clean towels each day. The base board heater didn't have a front on it and looking inside, it's so dirty that it could easily be a fire hazard. I think just lack of attention to details is the problem. The main items were taken care of like the bed and bathroom. There wasn't a way to wash the dishes so it makes me wonder how they got cleaned to begin with. There wasn't a washcloth or towel or anything in the kitchen. And with the uninviting landscape that was just full of weeds and unkept and dead trees/bushes, it's really not a place I would choose to come back to.

These suites are much like a 2 bedroom apartment. Roomy and comfortable. The daily breakfasts served at the Best Western lobby area are the best of any hotel I’ve ever stayed at. Full breakfast buffet with Farmer Brothers coffee. Indoor pool, outdoor pool and jacuzzi. Large grocery store 2 blocks away. Shops and eateries about 1/2 mile away. Hill City is one of the best locations for a Black Hills vacation.

Our stay was 4 nights and 5 days with this property. The staff in the Best Western hotel were friendly and accommodating. The breakfast area was clean and the food was good. The option for continental breakfast was one of the reasons I booked this property and I was very pleased. The pool access was also a plus for our kids. The property on the suite side was not kept up very well. Outside there were dead trees, overgrown weeds and the grass was in need of mowing. Inside the suite, there was a dust line along the floor boards throughout. The furniture and carpet were very dated, and there was also a very strong musty odor. The weather was not too hot while we were there, so we kept the windows open to air it out. We had planned to cook meals and take advantage of the kitchen in the suite, but went out of our way to stay out of the suite as much as possible due to the musty smell. The staff must be aware of the musty smell being a problem because the access doors to the building were propped open each morning to air out the hallways. All of our belongings came home smelling musty. I am not one to write bad reviews on places, but this place really needs to be updated or have a deep cleaning.

We stayed in the apartments, and the grounds between buildings were very weedy and overgrown, same for the pool area. Check in and breakfast were pluses, staff very friendly.

The outside looks pretty run down but inside is alright. It’s nice having two bedrooms and a kitchen. Units are just dated but were clean. I would stay again. Breakfast is really good to

They were not luxury suites. The furniture was old and not comfortable. Breakfast was just ok. . I would highly NOT recommend staying there to anyone.

There was no mention that you need to check in and all operations are based at the Best Western next door. The grounds have been unkept for quite some time. I wasn't sure if the weeds or the diseased and dead trees were taller. The grass hadn't been mowed for a very long time. The A/C didn't work fully in our unit, leaving a very musty damp smell. The furniture is quite stained and a sink was cracked. The curtains are stained and dingy looking. Beds were very old and uncomfortable. Screws in the walls were popping out everywhere. The TV signal didn't work at all either. Overall, for the price and size, not the worst place I've stayed in, but I travel more than most for work. However, we had an accidental double booking that was very obvious between us and a group of friends. They did not reach out to us to verify, nor would they work with us at all on cancelling or re-booking the room. They very much don't care about repeat business.

The accommodations were a two bedroom, one bath place. It was spacious and worked well for a family of four. The outdoor pool was nice, as well as the indoor pool. The workout room was extremely hot and needs to be Better ventilated. The outdoor area is pet friendly however, people were not cleaning up after their pets and, it was abundant. The unit was fine, but, there were also a couple cockroaches.

We loved staying here. It was simple, yet had everything we needed. We were really only in the room to sleep. We loved the extra space where we could have a separate room for our girls. We had one problem with the toilet not flushing, but they sent someone over within 10 minutes. We would stay there again if we come back to the area.

This was our 3rd stay at the property. My family enjoys having the full-size apartment when visiting the beautiful Black Hills, and this place is great for that! We will definitely stay here again in the future! Also, the buffet style breakfast is so good! Great coffee!

Their staff were friendly and helpful from the moment you check in. They provide a map with directions to your room and the amenities. They explain the breakfast times.
The up keep around the facility was great.
Our room was disappointing mostly due to the smell when you first walk in, there was no air going so it was also extremely hot. There was food on the walls in some areas, mold build up in the bathroom as the fan does not work well. The sink in the hall was clogged. The chairs in the living room we were terrified to sit in as the feet did not look stable especially when trying to move them to pull out the mattress on the sofa.
Breakfast was a bit crowded only due to the fact if you wanted waffles you had to wait quite a while because you have to make your own. Other than the crowdedness it was good and they offered a variety of items to please everyone.

It was a good stay. It was literally a two bedroom apartment that is in a complex by the main hotel. For the price I thought it was great.

Everything is outdated and with stains... our rooms were not even cleaned, front desk doesnt know please ,thank you or sorry... when we told that room wasnt clean, they just brought a towels to the room... the only person who was extremely nice is the guy with the pierced ear... breakfast was decent but thats it .. look elsewhere

It was difficult to navigate around the property- no signage of where anything was. Our room was satisfactory. Breakfast was good. The pool area was poorly lite and the water was not clean and cloudy. the hot tub looked dirty so I did not go in.

The place is a converted apartment complex. Luxury should not be in the name of the property. The grounds include over tall grass and weeds. Trees have disease on them and need trimming. The rooms have stained furniture and carpet. The stove was older than me. The towels were yellowed as well as the tiles in the shower. Maybe their water isn't the best? The mattresses are rock hard. The rooms lack night stands, which is strange. The breakfast was pretty standard, but I did note that the staff were hard-working to keep everything filled. The owner is clearly all about profit over "luxury". If I could plan it all over, we would not stay here.

Stayed in the luxury suites and this worked nice for a family with a teenager to have their own room. Was nice to have the amenities of the hotel with pool and breakfast. As good to know ahead of time to check in over at hotel. There was no one at front desk when we left so unsure of what to do at checkout and just left keys in room

The lawn needs to be mowed and landscaping weeded.
6.0 / 10.0
The "luxury" sweets are not luxury. Furniture was broken & stained. Carpet was stained. The room had an awful odor. The grass around the property was not mowed. The amenities are shared with the best western, which wasn't bad, but a bit confusing at first. That being said, the staff was friendly and the town nice and quiet. Great continental breakfast too. I would stay again for the space it provided my family.

Overall happy with our stay. This place is nothing fancy but it had what we needed. Great hot breakfast every morning was one of the perks. Pools and room were just average rooms but worked well for our family. The grounds were a little unkempt. If you’re looking for a place to stay on a budget, I would recommend. You can’t beat the location.

We stayed in a 2 bedroom unit that is not part of the main building. We had a back walkway with easy access to laundry, pools and breakfast. Room had some wear and tear and some furniture could use replacement. Beds were comfortable and clean. Breakfast had soemthing for everyone, eggs, bisquits & gravy, sausage, yogurt, cereal, muffins, toast, juice and fruit. We would stay here again. Having the space and kitchen work better for us.

This was a beautiful location. The condo was just the right size for 2 and close to everything. Thank you!

Nice little 2 bedroom apartment, full kitchen, 2 bathroom sinks (one inside the bathroom and one outside). I felt like the carpet needed a good scrubbing. Associated with the Best Western next door, so you can use their amenities (pool, ice, breakfast, etc.). We had two kids with us, so it was nice to spread out a bit and be able to cook. Krulls’s grocery store just down the street (walkable). I would have liked a separate bin for recycleables. Knowing what I know now, I would stay on the second floor. We had the large family stomping around upstairs very late at night.

This place was anything but a luxury suite. It was listed as a 3 star hotel and priced that way too, but it’s a 2 star motel all day long. You have to check in at the Best Western next door, which would have been nice to know as I was wandering around looking for the front desk. There were stains on the carpet, furniture, and bath towels, and black mold in the shower. The grass looked like it hadn’t been mowed in a month. Their slogan on the sign reads, “beyond all expectations” which nothing could be further from the truth.

Average experience. The apartment was nice as it has individual bedrooms for a larger group.

The suite is definitely not luxury but does the job if you need a two bedroom place to sleep. It for sure needs renovation. There was mildew stains on the shower tile grout, and the carpet is pretty worn. Not sure I would stay again.

We really enjoyed our stay here! Having a kitchen was nice as we cooked in every night. The location was great, breakfast was delicious, and we enjoyed the pool. I liked knowing that our building was all families, so we didn't have to worry as much about the kids being quiet. But we never heard any noise! Definitely would stay again.
Only suggestions would be to have towels and wash clothes for the kitchen. We ended up using bathroom towels. A broom would be nice, as well as dressers in the rooms to put clothes in as most people would be staying for days. Otherwise no complaints!

We stayed in one of the 2-bedroom apartments. The signage for check in is confusing. You check in at the Best Western. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. I requested another lamp for the living room and one was brought over right away. I am 5'10" and the shower came up to my chest. I do not know how a taller person could use the shower? The shower head does need to be cleaned. The hotel staff changed the towels and emptied the trash everyday. The hot tub temperature could be warmer.

The room are older & need updating.
They hadn’t vacuumed as their was nail clippings on the floor. The couch was broken down & overall it felt dirty

Our stay was very nice. The room was very spacious and clean. It was a short walk from the suite to the pool. The staff was friendly.
