The check in was a nightmare. We were not contacted about the self check in so we were left standing on the street with our luggage. A nice couple who were also staying there showed up and got us in and contacted the owner for us. She was rude and insisted that it was my fault for providing the wrong contact number, which I did not. She had the country code wrong. Finally got to the room and the door handle came off in our hand. Netflix was supposed to be available but it asked us to sign in. When I contacted the owner to ask how to sign in she didnt answer me and there was no more communication for the next three days that we stayed there. There was black mold on the bathroom ceiling. The location was good, right in the middle of the restaurant and shopping district but it was also very noisy. I would not recommend this property.

I was really looking forward to my stay at this hotel. We saw great reviews and ravings, but it did not live up to the positive reviews. Good: - very close to Acropolis - many good restaurants nearby - comfortable beds - quick to communicate through WhatsApp Bad: - I contacted the property before my stay asking if we could check in early. They said yes and that they had time to clean it. We walked in and saw the following... 1) there were many visible coffee grounds still left in the coffee pot 2) the doorknob to our bathroom was completely broken. One side of the doorknob had fallen off entirely. The other side was barely hanging on. That is very inconvenient for multiple reasons, and we had to put the bathroom trashcan in front of the bathroom door to make sure it wouldn't open while we were on the toilet/taking a shower. 3) there was a water leakage in the bathroom drawer and there was a puddle of water that had accumulated in the bottom shelf. There was wear and tear in that shelf and it looked like this leak may have been going on for quite some time. We requested a discount but they said we could move to another hotel halfway through our trip. Not convenient at all. It would have been difficult to get everyone in my group away from their activities to move to another hotel that hopefully had a bathroom doorknob. Disappointed because I was looking forward to staying there.

We had a wonderful stay at Athinn Residence. Everything is in a walkable distance from restaurant and and bus stops. The free wifi and elevator is the best. My sister’s was also in Athens with us but they dont have a elevator at their hotel and they regretted it fir the same price. Everything is good to go except there is no shower wand hanger. Plus this new things about NO person checking you in and out is new to me. Everything has to be done electronically. Response time is within limits. I only stayed 2 nights there so I didn’t ask for new sheets and towels. Overall I will recommend and stay there again.

The property needs some help the paint is peeling of the walls and there are a few things that need updates. The place was clean and neat but the biggest problem was that the Air conditioner was not working properly. The living room was the only room with A/C the three bedrooms were like a furnace. I was awakened at 3 am but my grand daughter sobbing that she could not sleep she was sweating so badly. Contacting the management got us no help at all. So we suffered for 2 days. Also the other thing that was dangerous was the lights in the hallways were on a sensor. It was fine walking up the statins but going down there was no light until you reached the 1st floor and triggered the lights. It was very scary for a 77 year old woman with vertigo to go down dark stairs could have been fatal.

The location was great, with lots of restaurants, shops, and sites nearby. The beds were comfortable, and the shower was great! We enjoyed having a balcony. We were on the 4th floor, so the view was cool. However, the last flight of stairs was rough with luggage:). It was still worth it.

First very confusing for taxi to get there. Taxi people were confused. No parking. Doing construction so limited space you can’t even get out. First of all they didn’t tell me it is the 4th floor no elevator to the 4th floor. If traveling alone that is fine but for God sake when you are traveling with a family and suitcases 6! Have the curiosity to say it is on the 4th floor with no elevator. You walk in the light hits your head then the door. The light has fallen and they didn’t have the curiosity to pull it up when entering the apartment you have to be careful not to hit our heads. Happy that it was just over night. Could not stand staying there another night. It was creepy apartment. The air conditioning was sending cool air but the apartment was so hot not used not it took hours for it to cool. By the time we were leaving the it cooled off. Outside view was horrible and depressing. The windows you could not even open. For an apartment it was depressing. Not even a microwave to heat up a food. Had a fridge coffee maker hot water but no microwave! Weird

The stay was an easy process and the host communicated through WhatsApp with all the instructions . It’s good for a short stay. The only problem is that hot water took 20 mins to heat up. Close to a lot of cute little restaurants but also pretty loud at night, rooms weren’t sound proof.

Good size and separate bedrooms like we were looking for but only had hot water one of the days for showering and the shower consistently backed up into bathroom area. AC was good. Housekeeping came - we didn’t know they would come, most places have you indicate if you want it so it was a little disconcerting to see someone had been in there. Took out one of two garbages and made beds but didn’t add toilet paper which was almost out. Lots of cool areas nearby for shopping and dining or sightseeing. Overall not horrible, just the bathroom situation could be better.

I didn’t realize before I booked this property that it was completely self check in. If I had known this beforehand it would’ve made for less concern on arrival. Make sure you check your text messages on arrival. It completely explains the check in process as well as a storage unit if prior to check in time of 2 pm. It includes a toilet inside the storage unit. The main keys are in a lockbox. My keys were missing the blue key entrance for the outside so I had to always enter the code upon entry. The room itself was nicely furnished with AC, Netflix, mini fridge, microwave and coffee maker as well as sink and kitchen accessories. The bathroom had really nice water pressure. The shower curtain could have been longer because the water tends to overflow out. The toilet brush definitely needs to be changed in Room 104 because the top was completely rusted. The door to room is a bit tricky since you have to turn at least 3 times to open it. Took several attempts to open it. Location was really convenient within walking distance to Monastiraki and roughly 15-20 minutes walking distance to the Acropolis Main Entrance.

Great hotel. Room was clean and tourist areas easily accessible. Upon arrival our door handle was broken off and we had a hard time entering our room. After struggling to get into the room we got locked inside when the lock fell off the door but management dealt with the issue quickly with excellent communication. iPad as reception was a little strange but effective. Check in and out was very easy. Hotel arranged a shuttle for us at a fixed rate. Our driver Dimitris was absolutely phenomenal. Gave us a tour of the city as we drove to port.

Great property located near Monastiraki. I got to buy a lot of souvenirs for my family and got to enjoy local Greek delicacies. The property was clean and well maintained. Check in procedure was well explained. Any questions was tended to in a timely manner

We enjoyed our stay at Athinn. The owner provided very clear and concise directions with pictures to check in/out. The only hiccup we had was the hot water not being able to shower at night since the water is heated with the solar panels (spoiled Americans lol). Otherwise it was a good stay with a perfect location to everything.

A very good property. The place is very central and walkable to all places of interest. Communication was excellent even though we only connect via WhatsApp. Place around the property was clean. The interior was clean and a good but a bit dated. My family of 8 were very happy with the stay. Will definitely go back there again if I’m back in Athens. easy check in process (which Europe now seems to be all "automated" (No person to person check in, but there were options to call or video conference if there were any issues) Price that was paid, for the location, is a great value. Had problem operating the shower, despite instructions being provided. To be noted, what was called "black out curtains" was not effective at all, and light shined in room all night. Again, great value for location.

Very noisy hotel. We stayed on the 1st floor and were woken up everytime someone entered the hotel because the front door is very loud and there seems to be no insulation in any of the walls, it was that loud. You can also here absolutely everything happening outside, people talking, garbage pickup in the middle of the night, cars, etc… The hotel itself was ok, outdated and wasn’t cleaned the best. It’s a cheaper option to stay at but honestly I would spend a bit more for a place you can actually get some sleep at.

Nice property overall … pros are that it’s near everything bars, shopping, restaurants, etc and safe. Negatives no front desk and it’s near everything lol which can me a little loud at times. This is perfect for 25 plus to middle age people and solo travelers ..even though there is no personal the y are responsive if contacted.

Location was central, which is why we booked it. At the time of writing, there was a ton of garbage bins next to the street of the hotel. Unit itself was small, relatively clean and had pretty much everything you needed for one night stay. Guests were coming in and out at all hours and slamming the main door which you’d definitely hear on the first floor. We kept jumping up from bed. All in all it wasn’t bad but wouldn’t stay again.

I recently had the pleasure of staying at this hotel, and it exceeded all of my expectations. The staff made it incredibly clear on how to check in by offering a clear step by step guideline. The room was impeccably clean ( except with a few stains on the couch) and beautifully decorated, with a great terrace. The location was ideal, with easy access to major attractions and public transportation. In summary, this hotel provided a truly exceptional experience. I can't recommend it highly enough and will definitely be returning on my next visit to this city.

It is near a lot of eateries. It is frequented by taxis so transportation is not an issue. Near to two market place plaza to do some shopping and eating. The place is clean and air condition is provided. About 16-20 minutes to the Acropolis. Most importantly, the place is clean! Maybe a microwave would be good to have. There are some mosquitoes even in the 4th floor, so maybe some fumigation is in order. One of my friends is allergic to mosquitoe bites.There is an elevator up to the 3rd floor. It is a pleasant place to come home to after going around.

Unsafe building!! Super LOUD street!! You cannot sleep!!!!! I called the number for the property manager and she was the RUDEST PERSON EVER to me and even insinuating that my English wasn’t good enough, when I’m an American that speaks fluently English. Ridiculously experience and not to mention that the shower did not work at all!!!
