Not a typical hotel experience. I really liked the building and my room. Great location close to downtown and the lake front.
4.7
Loved the place! My only wish is that there had been a table in the room to use as a work space and eating area.
4.7
Paid for parking worth it in winter especially but needed it for airport in the morning. Had good communication about expectations and directions. Only needed one call to front desk prompt. Nice smelling bathroom stuff easy use of air conditioning. No noise at night quiet comfortable room. Had mini fridge. Great tv.
4.7
Great location to explore downtown Milwaukee. High ceilings, huge rooms, tons of atmosphere. V comfy bed. Great bathroom. Unique feel.
4.7
Beautiful home built in the late 1800s. Lovely lounge areas, games, books, outdoor sitting areas. You truly feel at home. Comfortable rooms, great customer service. Highly recommend.
4.7
Ease of booking/checkin/checkout.
4.7
Such a cool, historical building! Room was super comfortable and chic. I was a little wary of there being no onsite staff, but they were very responsive via text and we had no issues whatsoever. Since this is an old building, there is no elevator so that’s something to keep in mind.
4.7
A unique property in the heart of the downtown.
4.7
Loved the historic building and the room itself. However, something needs to be done about the undersized air conditioning unit. We were lucky it was only 70 outside because it was struggling to keep the room cool. Can’t imagine what it would have been like a few days earlier when it was near 90 and humid.
4.7
Exceptional location. They did a very good job with the restoration; it’s a beautiful historic building and the renovations are very nice. That said, it’s NOT a hotel - it’s an Airbnb. There are no dedicated staff on site, no front desk, no housekeeping during the stay, and no additional services offered on the property. The sound bleed between walls and floors is substantial to become uncomfortable during the day and to interrupt sleep significantly during the night. We didn’t have restful nights due to evening events taking place on the first floor throughout our stay. I wish they had clarified the expectations of the type of lodging they are on the Expedia description - we would have known what to expect or chosen a different location to celebrate a romantic getaway.
4.7
The property is well located. The rooms and amenities are perfect. It’s not your normal matchbox size hotel room.
My only take is the non- flexibility of the hotel management. I tried to get a late a checkout and paid for it. It was for one extra hour only. I needed more time. I was willing to pay for an extra night just get the extra few hours at the hotel. Nooooo waaaaay. Although the hotel has a lot to offer, I can’t understand their attitude. It’s fine. Lesson learnt. Always book an extra night even if you need a couple more extra hours at this hotel cause you definitely won’t get any help.

Hotel in a historic townhouse. Huge rooms. First time at a "self-serve" style hotel. However they answered the phone and all my questions.
4.7
Nice hotel. All the codes worked. I'm having trouble locating my bill.

Quaint, well maintained, comfortable bed and updated bathroom. Close to walkable great dining and and the lake and Art Museum.
4.7
Zero street parking in neighborhood due to numerous apartments, etc. Had to pay well above average amount per night staid to park in hotel lot. Which in my estimation should be included as is notncut rate lodging.
4.7
This property is NOT a hotel…it’s more an Airbnb…with noisy strangers. Also, one of the reasons I picked it was for the „coffee shop“, which is closed and has been for quite some time. Totally false advertising. Be aware that next door is a high-rise construction site—incredibly noisy all day long. Would not stay here again and do not recommend.
4.7
Very overpriced. Great old building. Zero staff, “invisible” they call it!! It’s just a room. If it’s not right, you’re outa luck. Only 4 K cups for 2 nights then you’re done. Can’t get more. Creamer was old and funky. No staff. You can’t get more. The mini split heating and cooling is oversized for the room. Blows right on the bed and is in locked mode. I followed the directions to unlock - it didn’t. The problem again is no staff. So it’s your problem. We had to just turn it off. It’s a nice building, not a bad room. But it is not worthy of the price we paid - or close.

The rooms were clean and very comfortable. But since there is no staff at the location the atmosphere of the hotel is cold and creepy. The noise from the adjoining rooms was loud. Other hotels in this area provided free parking, not here. They wanted to charge for parking even though they had an empty parking lot adjacent to the hotel.

Liked the check in process. Great old mansion/loved the walkable neighborhood. Room was great/had it nice and cool the warm day we stayed. Bummed out the cafe/bar did not seem to be operating any more. Had fun/would recommend.
4.7
It was a bit creepy not having any staff there
4.7
Charming room, loved the common areas and available games.
4.7
Classy but noice from upstairs and next rooms
4.7
We loved everything about our stay
4.7
We loved the hotel. The staff checked in and made accommodations for us. Really appreciate it. Loved the communal areas for reading, hanging out.
4.7
Comfortable nice location and quiet, perfect couple getaway
4.7
loved the walking distance to nearby restaurants. super close to the milwaukee public market as well, and a few shopping areas. loved how close it was to the water and art museum. the interior and aesthetic of the place was amazing! definitely the best decorated hotel room i've been in.
4.7
Wonderful stay!! This will be our first choice next time we come back to Milwaukee. Only TINY complaint is the comforter was a bit thin, not at fluffy, but that’s just a personal preference.
4.7
One of the best hotel experiences I have ever had! The facility is so nice and has so much to do in a short walking distance.
4.7
This is a very nice place, unique, and quiet.
4.7
Nice location; disappointing in terms of the lack of amenities, furnishings and the Gulden room was not open during the duration of our four day stay. Would not book this property again.
4.7
We loved this hotel! It’s so beautiful and extremely quiet. It’s in a great location. We would definitely stay here again!

Great stay
4.7
Convenient check-in, unique stay. Very walkable. Would stay here again if we are in the city.
4.7
Great location for our needs. Easy in/out. Friendly staff

The room we stayed in was quite large, perfect for overnight girl’s weekend for 4. I wish the cafe/bar downstairs was open so that we had a place to hang after dinner but Taylor’s was just a few blocks away for night cap. The easy parking at the back was convenient but the $25 price tag was too much since I already paid hefty service fee for no lobby service and amenities. Also, there is a strong odor (?dead animal) coming from the basement so better to enter from the front when you can. The lake is very close

Dubbel Dutch was a very disappointing hotel.
First, parking. There are 14 rooms and only 7 reserved parking spaces, so be prepared to park on the street. Parking on the street in this part of MKE is extremely difficult. What's strange is that there is a giant lot right next to the hotel, but you can't park there. You'd think the hotel would make arrangements with that lot to provide overflow parking for guests.
Second, daylight flooding the room. Our room (306) had a blocked-off upstairs, but obviously they didn't think of covering the windows up there, so there is a ton of light in the morning. The blinds on the main windows were also woefully inadequate.
Third, inability to control the temperature very well. There were instructions to override the lockout, but it didn't work.
Fourth, the noise. I get that it's a historic property, but the floors creak terribly, and you will hear every guest move in the corridors and stairs.
Fifth, the narrow stairwells and no elevator. I'm sure it says somewhere on the website that there is no elevator, but it's not obvious when you book. Hauling your family's luggage up to the 3rd floor is not fun.
Sixth, the bed. Sags in the middle. Billed as a King but it's not.
If those things matter to you, avoid this place.
On the positive side, it's a cool historic building in a beautiful neighborhood, which gives you the ability to walk anywhere downtown and even to the 3rd Ward.
I won't be staying there again.

Lovely atmosphere at this old hotel. The seamless checkin was a first but the bar staff and online communication helped…. Comfy room but missed creams for room coffees. Convenient parking too/nice bath!

All good

The Dubbel Dutch is a beautiful home, our room was perfect and bright, and spacious for three people and a dog to move about. I hope to stay there again!

A very pleasant stay!
We shall return!
