Great place and well worth the cost. Overall excellent.

Friendly staff and clean property. Parts of it could do with refurbishing.

Lovely bedroom with an adjoining living room, so plenty of space. There was also a fridge and kitchen sink, but no microwave. (Odd).
Our negative was that the bedroom wasn't dark enough, could have done with a curtain on the side window.

Brilliant friendly place with good food and drinks that welcomes dogs. Perfect for what we needed travelling with a dog and toddler.

Lovely little pub B&B. Room was amazing. Very big with separate living room and kitchenette. Staff very friendly and helpful (allowed us an early check in to get ready for a wedding). Breakfast was lovely. Can’t actually fault the place, would definitely use again.

Overnight stay - Warm welcome and room was big, clean and had separate kitchen and seating room as well as bedroom - I.e. an apartment. Fresh milk in fridge and bottled water. Food was great and good range of beers and cider. Will be returning.

We had a pleasant stay but the room really needs a makeover, it’s very tired looking. Unfortunately they didn’t cater for vegans which was disappointing especially as I’d emailed in advance to tell them.

Stayed for one night celebrating our 55th wedding anniversary we were welcomed and shown to a very comfortable suit . We enjoyed a very nice evening meal beside the woodburner ,and enjoyed a full english the next morning which was beautifully cooked and presented by Danielle , al though it was one night we will recommend the Martlet inn and will definitely stay there again

The room I stayed in was "The nest". Should be called "The best"! It's a lovely room in fact a home from home.
My job means I stay away 10-15 nights per month and this stop was one of the best this year. The decor and furnish was clean and contempory, I felt like I was in a lounge nitba hotel. Loads of plug sockets vital for business travelers. Proper tea, coffee, sugar jars not sachets. The bathroom had full size toiletries not tiny unreadable micro bottles or wall mounted dispensers.

Great country pub with rooms.
Pub garden where we could eat with our dog. Food was wonderful.
Room was comfortable with kettle, fridge and tea /coffee. Breakfast was better than many branded hotels we've stayed at.
Also a shout out for the staff. Friendly, attentive - all you could ask for.
Would definitely stay again.

Lovely hotel, the staff where every friendly and helpful. The hotel was very clean. The room had tea and coffee making facility and a very large bathroom with a good shower. Massive TVs in both rooms that had many channels. Lots of space unlike some hotels.

My stay at the Martlet was overall good but was spoiled by a few things. I rang on the evening of my arrival to check I could still check in at 22.30. I was told 'yes we're open til 11pm). I arrived at 22.40. The remaining member of staff was outside smoking and when I asked if I could get a drink from the bar she said 'no I've cashed up and am just waiting for you'
I found this rude. I had booked a pub with rooms specially so I could get a drink on arrival and was even told on the phone the bar would be open until 11pm.
The next morning there was a temporary problem with hot water which the lovely morning staff member sorted. She also gave me a free cooked breakfast as an apology for the lack of hot water which was then fixed. She also said she would be speaking to the member of staff I had met the night before. Room lovely and bed very comfortable

Easy to find, remote road so quiet. Great welcome, supurb service with great food. Nothing was too much trouble. This hotel has huge potential and it is clear spending is already underway. Thanks to the new gent who showed us around and welcomed us. Also thanks to the chef devine meal and came especially to offer a cooked breakfast plus Millie and very spacious rooms. I will be back

Lovely warm welcoming place with lovely staff

The service in the food in the restaurant was superb. However the room albeit very clean and spacious it is over the kitchen and the noise of the fan is very loud which is turned on at 7:50 in the morning. And when it’s not on there is a loud humming noise. The bed is extremely uncomfortable it is very hard with a latex mattress that is warm and it has wooden slats that are very creaky so any movement is noisy.

Great food, very friendly welcome and service. Super comfortable bed!

Great hotel with some quirky features. Service was amazing. Only downside was the bed was sooo uncomfortable and after a long motorbike ride all I needed was a good nights sleep. Unfortunately, a couple of hours was all I got. Being very picky the metal light was hung annoying low so I kept banging my head on it. Thanks to all the staff for their amazing service and the breakfast was the perfect morning remedy.
