About this villa rental
The first time we visited Costa Rica, we fell in love with the country. The second time, we fell in love with Casa Montaña. We hope you will love both as we do. We want our presence in the county to be a positive thing for Costa Rica, so we will donate 10% of the price you pay for rental of the house to a local charity. Currently, the money is benefiting a special education class with students who do not always have enough to eat or the proper clothes to wear.
Casa Montaña was completed in 2022, with special attention to highest quality materials and construction. It is a peaceful and elegant retreat for friends, family, or business associates, with plenty of opportunities for exploration and pampering on-site, in nearby towns, and throughout Costa Rica. Casa Montaña is situated in the mountains just 15 minutes from Dominical . You will need a rental car (4x4 recommended) during your stay. The mountain location provides stunning views of both the ocean and the jungle, as well as cool breezes throughout the day. Each bedroom has an air-conditioning unit, which you may not need because of the mountain breeze. If you do, you can feel good knowing the house is solar powered. The property is lavishly landscaped, gated with security cameras, plus WiFi and cell phone coverage. The entry level features a great room with seating area, a large dining table, and a beautiful kitchen. The flat screen televisions in this room and the one above are equipped with satellite reception.
Sliding doors open to the deck and infinity pool. Another door leads to laundry facilities. You may choose to do your own laundry, or leave it for the maid. Down the hall are a half bath that opens both into the house and out to the pool, and two bedrooms that share a handicap accessible bathroom. One room has a queen-size bed, and the other has bunk beds with a twin-size bed above and a full-size bed below. Windows from the bathroom have ocean views, and each bedroom has a door that opens to the deck and infinity pool, and another that opens into the hallway.
Upstairs is a primary suite with an ocean-view balcony and a king-size bed. The ensuite bathroom contains a soaking tub and a waterfall shower complete with windows to the ocean on one side, and the jungle on another. The primary bedroom is separated from two more upstairs bedrooms by a second seating area. This area has a wet bar and a television. It opens to balconies on both the ocean and mountain/valley sides of the house. The other upstairs bedrooms have queen-size beds, private balconies with views to the ocean, and ensuite bathrooms with ocean views.
Luxury is all around in this mountain retreat. All beds and baths are appointed with high-quality linens. House provided shampoo, conditioner and lotion are from Raw Botanicals, a Costa Rica company dedicated to sustainable luxury
https://www.rawbotanicals.com/). Outside, in addition to the infinity pool, there is a covered barbecue area, with a gas grill, sink, refrigerator and dining table. There are also two outdoor showers – one near the front door and one near the pool.
Alex, our fabulous concierge, is available at check in and check out, as well as by email or phone before and during your stay, to help arrange transportation/tours/activities, to answer questions, and to deal with any issues that might arise.
Pool/maintenance and maid service are provided every other day during your stay (when booked for 6 nights or more), but Alex can arrange for more immediate attention (at an additional charge) should the need arise.

Like New, 5 Star home. Casa Montana was a dream come true. We met other travelers who had rented a condo near Quepos/Manuel Antonio National Park for the same price, with half the value. Most accommodations in that area are small and just a tourist trap. For the price, this home was HUGE, like new, very high end, and close to everything. Yes, you had to drive 20-30 minutes to do most of the tours, but the drive was easy. Locally...Dominical was 5-10 minutes away with great restaurants, a wonderful coffee shop(Cafe Delicias), several markets for groceries, and much more. This house allows your family to have plenty of space, a spectacular view, and the best bang for your buck in the area. Don't know the area, or how to go about booking excursions....MEET ALEX, Your Concierge. Alex gave advice, booked our excursions, and INSTANTLY replied to EVERY question we had. You will not find help like this staying anywhere else. It was like having our own personal tour guide. We had never been to Costa Rica. Without Alex, our trip would not have been the same. Great guy, and wonderful concierge.
Do not miss going to Portasol waterfall(listed as Portasol Living in Google). It's kind of a locals hidden secret and the best waterfall in the area. We went by tour the first time. After that, we visited every afternoon with our kids. Most afternoons we were there with the locals or even had the whole place to ourselves. Highlight of our trip. Completely safe

Neither pictures nor words can fully describe how amazing Casa Montana is. From the spacious rooms and wide-opening doors to the stunning outdoors, the house has everything we could have ever needed. The views from every room overlooking the water and mountains were stunning. We loved waking up to the sunrise and watching the parrots and toucans flying around.
One of the best parts was Alex, who helped set up amazing excursions for our group from guided tours to private chef cooked meals. The ease of working with Alex to help elevate our vacation was magical.
We can't wait to find a time to head to Casa Montana again!

Incredible! The home is absolutely beautiful and the views are amazing. The house was immaculate, the grounds and the landscaping were perfect, and the pool was exceptionally clean. The kitchen was well appointed, and the TV and Wi-Fi were amazing. Alex, the concierge and home manager, was absolutely perfect! Whatever Alex recommends, and whoever he chooses for you for tours, just do it! We ate at amazing restaurants, we saw beautiful animals at Manuel Antonio, the beaches were beautiful, and the Canos Island snorkel tour was great. While at the home, and in the pool, we enjoyed watching the toucans and parrots flying over us. We highly recommend this property and we will definitely be back.

This property is perfect!! Everything is so eloquently appointed. The property is even more exquisite than the photos. Frank, the property owner, was responsive to all needs and put us in contact with his wonderful concierge, Alex. Alex met all of our needs and even went above and beyond on a special, and perhaps unusual, request that we had. Thank you Alex!! From the handyman, to the chef, to the ATV tour, everyone that Alex recommended were great people, kind, and genuine. I guess good people know good people 😊. Thank you for a wonderful stay at your beautiful home. We will be back!!

Our stay at Casa Montana was extraordinary. The house is absolutely beautiful and faultless. Each bedroom is perfectly appointed. The kitchen is really well set up with equipment and everything you could need to cook to your hearts content. And the view…absolutely stunning. Our stay was made all the more perfect by the incredible cleaning service (such a treat!!) and help from Alex throughout and before the stay. We booked the chef service twice during the week and it was incredible. I would highly recommend this house and all it has to offer. We came back fully rested and longing to go back.

Our family has vrbo'd for 5 or so years. We have stayed in some amazing homes over the years. This one was special. Beyond words.
This home is so isolated and peaceful. We live in Houston, Texas; right in the heart of the city. The silence was deafening to us the first morning when we got up early & just stood there in silence listening to the toucans sing their songs (we watched 10-15 for an hour). It was SO surreal. Our family is extraverted - we just stood there speechless - a first. It was hard to take in that much beauty in one moment. There were hawks, humming birds, butterflies galore, frogs/toads, lizards and exquisite gardens/flowers.
The home inside was absolutely spotless. It is a brand new home and was second to none. Jose the person who keeps this home like it is brand new was nothing short of gifted.
Alex, the concierge / manager of the home was two of our three kids favorite person they met in all of CR. He was so focused on our family having the best time of our lives. He helped us book surfing, horseback riding we could have only dreamed of, told us the beaches to go to, set up WOW chefs to come cook for us (we have never done that before) - was some of the best food we have EVER eaten in our lives. Our teenage boys are still talking about the food, while my wife and daughter keep talking about the view and all the wildlife. It is remote and we have never stayed at the same home twice - this one is the 1st is on the return listing. Thank you for sharing!

The pictures don't do this home justice, it's gorgeous and spacious! We had a wonderful time! Alexander was very attentive and addressed concerns/issues quicky. The cleaning crew did a very thorough job. We had 5 children and 4 adults and there was plenty of room. If you want a serene retreat, this is it!

Our recent stay at Casa Montana was absolutely wonderful! We were a group of 7(5 adults and 2 children) and this house fit the needs for everyone. Plenty of bedrooms, all with incredible views. Plenty of living space and everything you could ever need at the top of the mountain.
Upon arrival to the area, Alexander met us at a local grocery store and led us up the mountain.
I will be honest, it was a rough ride and I am so glad we had 4x4 vehicles. We were late arriving so it was dark and had rained, so we were prepared and expected it to be rough drive but Alexander was patient and did a fantastic getting us up to the house and showing us the home. He answered any questions we had and stayed a bit longer trying to fix the internet that wasn’t working. When he couldn’t get it working, he had someone out first thing the next day to fix it. Overall, he provided fantastic service during our entire stay and truly was a great help!
The home is just as beautiful, if not more beautiful than the pictures. The views are stunning and made it so easy to relax and enjoy the second half of our stay in Costa Rica. We really appreciate you sharing your beautiful home with us!
Pura Vida!

Casa Montana is amazing and is a home away from home with ALL the amenities and kitchen appliances you may need, including a blender for delicious tropical blends. We couldn't have asked for a more beautiful, peaceful, private and relaxing place to stay with breathtaking ocean views, sunrises and sunsets...every single day! It's high on the mountain and is the perfect place for a gathering of family and friends. The refreshing infinity pool is perfect for enjoying sweeping ocean views during the day and swimming in the dark with the pool lights on at night listening to music from the numerous YouTube options on the big screen TV with a great sound system. We ate under the cabana every morning and night, watching and listening to toucans, butterflies, birds, geckos, toads and more. We took advantage of private chef services one evening and chose a traditional Costa Rican meal prepared by Chef Marlon which was delicious! Alex made the arrangements and was perfect! The Dominical Market is just down the road and had everything we needed for breakfasts, dinners and snacks for our daily adventures which included: drives through lush mountains, stopping at roadside fruit stands in small villages and towns, cruising along the beautiful coastline stopping at every "Playa" sign we saw (some taking us to hidden beaches), swimming in waterfall pools (Nauyaca and Cascade El Pavon), a cacao/chocolate tour, 25-mile ATV ride, a stop at Fuego Brew Co. in Dominical, delicious Pina Coladas at the Tiki Bar near Dominical Market (Adrian is a great and friendly bartender - tell him we sent you), and much more. We ventured into Dominical, Uvita, Quepos, Manuel Antonio, Matapolo, Ojachal and others town and villages and saw how life is in Costa Rica. We were glad we rented a 4x4 which was needed for some adventures.
Frank was so helpful and made the reservation process easy, and Alex (house manager) was kind and attentive and checked in to make sure all was going well. He sent us a list of tour options, made our reservations and provided easy-to-follow directions to the locations. We trusted Alex completely to answer any questions we had during our stay.
In summary, THIS is the place you need to be for your Costa Rica vacation. You won't regret it and will want to go back...we didn't want to leave. PURA VIDA!

My family of five loved Casa Montana. The spectacular views and luxury accommodations are apparent from the photos. Here are a few details not apparent in the photos: The mattresses are very comfortable. We slept great! We really appreciated the elevation. We loved the beaches around Domincal (especially Playa Hermosa), but it was so nice to return to the house in the afternoon and feel the cooler air. My kids loved the hammocks--they spent hours reading in them--and the pool. The outdoor furniture is very comfortable. We also enjoyed the outdoor showers. Frank was very responsive to our queries, and check-in was very easy. All-in-all a great stay.

The site is peaceful and relaxing with the opportunity to have the vacation of your choice. We spent some days just at the house, enjoying the views, pool and the flora and fauna on site. Other days can be out and around going to waterfalls, National Parks, local beaches all to ourselves, with a wide variety of places to eat when out.
We had a wonderful meal made at the Casa, the menu was sent to us ahead of time, we made our choices and then the Chef and sous chef arrived early enough to prep, cook and serve the meal at the requested time. Then they did all the clean up. We kept the leftovers for later in the week. We did cook for ourselves as well which I really liked. Shopping locally was easy.
Alex was the concierge and was gracious, thoughtful and always helpful. From helping us get a driver for the trip from San Jose, to car rental there in Dominical, to a marvelous guide for bird watching, his knowledge of the area and finding reputable help is excellent.
The house is spacious and allows everyone a place to gather, together or to find some personal space. There is Wi-Fi which worked well. There is also Streaming options but honestly there are better things to do there.
We spent time in February and it was sunny every day.
Truly a great time to relax and rejuvenate. My heartfelt thank you to the Host.

Everything was perfect from start to finish!!! The house is simply magnificent, the photos do not do the property justice, it's so beautiful!!! On the pictures it's beautiful, but in real life it's next level!!!The view of the mountains and the ocean is breathtaking!!! The house is very very clean and a person comes to do the housekeeping every 2 days. The house is equipped with everything to cook and all the amenities!!! The host is super welcoming and courteous as well as Alex the concierge gives a service outstanding throughout the stay!!!Alex came to join us on the way to escort us to the Villa to show us around the place when we arrived!Alex helped us throughout the stay to book activities and advise so that we have the best travel experience in Costa Rica. He responds to all our texts very quickly. The house is super big and it's super quiet from the top of the mountain but very close to everything for activities in Dominical. (15 min) I recommend everyone to stay at this magnificent villa!!! I also recommend renting a 4x4 vehicle because the side to go up to the villa is not paved but with a 4x4 it's easy!!! In summary we loved our stay and you can book this property without any fear!!! 100/100

This spacious and beautiful property has tons of room and amenities, including decks and an infinity pool with gorgeous views of the valley and ocean, complete with phenomenal sunsets. The pictures are true to life; the beds are comfy and the bathrooms excellent. Alex, the concierge, is extremely nice and responsive and accommodating. He helped us plan some super activities, with something for everyone. He also coordinates cleaning and any required repairs through a sweet local guy named Jose. You'll see green parrots and toucans and toads and lots of other creatures--and hear them, too! We saw a coati and iguanas on the road as well--and you might see monkeys around. I can't say enough about Casa Montana, Alex, and the funky and fun village of Domenical down the hill. The location is ideal for exploring north and south along the Central Pacific coast. This is a five-star property, for sure!

The Ride to the House was easy to make Even we hadnt 4x4 and Even the House is really high
When we enter the Gate we saw how huge the House is and When we get in and explore the Whole House we had no words.
It was breathtaking.
So lightfull, Every room with an amazing view to the beaches around.
The silence of this spot is incredible. You only hear the birds ( tucan, caracara and so on) the frogs and sometimes howler monkeys.
My Favorit Place was the bathtube it was amazing. The Favorit Place of my 5 year Old son was the amazing infinity pool and the best place for my husband was the barbacue weber Grill Outside to make the Fish catched By himself.
Even if the House and it’s view was so amazing That we dont Wanted to leave it we visited eco chantal waterfalls and the nauyaca waterfalls and we saw a lot of animals in the hacienda baru and its beach.
There is a good wifi , big television and the Equipment of the kitchen was better than at Home.
Everything is Made of high quality materials it is unbelivable.
Not to forget : the Concierge Alex is fabolous and helped us with any questions and josé was an Amazing house Service guy , everything was really clean.
We had a wonderful time in this house and we felt blessed that we find it on vrbo.
Thank you Frank for renting your house we will come back, thats for sure.

Our two families (6 adults and 4 teens) rang in 2023 from this beautiful mountain top home! The new house is well appointed, but it’s the uninterrupted ocean views - available from every level, deck and bedroom - that make this vacation rental so special.
Frank was quick to respond and accommodating. Alex, the concierge, is exceptional at his job. He helped coordinate every excursion before we arrived, was warm and welcoming at check-in and was always a quick What’s App away, frequently checking in and always fast to respond, but never intrusive. Finally, Jose, the housekeeper, cleaned twice during our stay (though we never saw him!), making us feel like guests at a 5-star hotel.
Every bedroom has a spectacular view, comfortable beds, screened sliding doors and a deck, and every shower overlooks the ocean. The infinity pool got tons of use (and looks bigger than the pictures). The landscaping is beautiful, towels plush and plentiful, and the kitchen had everything we needed to make delicious dinners (and cocktails!) at home. The little extras – from Costa Rican chocolates at check-in and sparkling wine for our last dinner, to the local coffee and wonderful bath products – were so appreciated!
Our first time to Costa Rica we took advantage of all its greatest hits. Alex helped arrange a sunset boat cruise, exhilarating ziplining (which even in the rain, was super fun) and set us up with Oscar, a private guide, to help us spot sloths, monkeys and other wildlife at Manuel Antonio National Park. We also visited nearby Nauyaca waterfalls, which was a trip highlight. For a New Year’s Eve treat and our last night celebration, Alex arranged for a private chef, Gabriel, who treated us to a delicious four-course meal from the comfort of home.
True to its namesake, Casa Montaña sits high atop a hill, making it a quiet, peaceful refuge with not a neighbor in sight. Our rented car (4x4 required) made us feel less isolated in the high elevation, and the quaint surfer town of Dominical (only 15 minutes away) offered all the amenities we needed. So, if you’re looking for a centrally located oasis, with a sweeping vista of the Pacific and chance to touch the clouds, look no further than this wonderful rental!

Our family of 8 (four teens, four adults) closed out 2022 in style at this wonderful vacation home. The pictures can't possibly due the view(s) justice - it's even more beautiful than you can imagine. The house is well-equipped and had everything our family needed for the week. There was even local coffee and chocolates there to enjoy when we arrived.
Alex, the concierge, made the check-in process easy and guided us to the home, which is up a very, very steep gravel road. He arranged whitewater rafting and ziplining outings as well as a private chef - higly recommend all of these! He checked in throughout our stay to make sure we were comfortable and had everything we needed.
We loved being close to the cute town of Dominical, which was fun but didn't feel too crowded at all. We liked being able to explore a variety of beaches and waterfalls in the area. Highly recommend this beautiful vacation house as a home base for exploring or for simply relaxing by the pool and enjoying the views.

Casa Montaña was everything we had hoped it would be. Gorgeous panoramic views, amazing sunsets, and just a very peaceful atmosphere. We had complete privacy with no neighbors in sight, but we were only 10 minutes away from gorgeous beaches, great excursions, and fantastic restaurants. The wildlife, including several toucans, were so fun to watch from the pool and balcony.
Frank was very responsive and connected us to Alex, the concierge for the house. Alex arranged a private chef service (which was INCREDIBLE), our car rental, and even our tours and surf lessons. He was even kind enough to take a grocery order for us and have the house stocked with food upon our arrival!
As for the house, you can tell it's brand new and beautiful constructed. It was immaculate upon check-in, and Alex arranged for housekeeping service that didn't interfere with our stay. All 5 bedrooms had an ocean view, so there was no fighting amongst family members on which room they were assigned. We are definitely going to make another trip to this house.

This property really has it all from the views, privacy, easy access, wildlife, comfortable beds, pool, fully equipped kitchen, the list goes.....
This house is our new favourite vacation rental without a doubt. The property sits on the mountain top with direct ocean views that stretch from Manuel Antonio National Park all the way to Dominical. With its high elevation, you also get to experience moments when you are in the clouds!!!
We cooked at the house and the kitchen had everything we needed. We also used the outdoor bbq (Weber) and it was set up perfectly with the double wide sink and mini fridge to keep everything cold as you cook.
Each bedroom has ocean view, so its hard to argue who gets which room as they are all amazing. Beds are very comfortable, there's A/C if you need it but with the cool evening temperature we slept with the doors open and just the screens closed. PS. All windows have screens!
The beach is just a short drive away along with a lot of little restaurants, but to be honest we didn't want to leave the house as it has everything you need.
Wildlife; On the drive to the property in the neighborhood of the house we saw a small ant eater which is not something you see often. At the property there was a family of toucans that were always by the trees in front of the pool which made for a spectacular photos. When the toucans weren't flying back and forth, there were tons of butterflies everywhere.
We will highly recommend this property and we will most certainly come again. Thanks to Alex for our smooth arrival and prompt responses and Frank for helping us with out dates. Great team!

I have no words to describe this amazing property, Frank the owner made my booking proccess so easy, got me in contact with the house concierge, Alex did an amazing job organizing a private chef, groceries upon arrival and massages by the house, also big shoot out to Jose, he did an amazing job cleaning the house, cleanlinnes were top ! The house is located in the hills of Baru are, just 10 min away from Domincal, we found everything we need it there, small beach town close to the house, the house it sitting on top the mountain with probably the best ocean views all around, I have stay in some other areas and the view here is out of this world.
The house is well desing and equipated, everything you need the house have it, I have stay here with my family and we had everything to cook our own meals with out any problem, my kids are 2 months and 9 years old, they had a blast by the pool and playing at the house green areas.
Can`t wait to be back to this small paradise!
