About this house rental
This comfortable two bedroom cottage is efficiently tucked away in the back corner of a large lot on a country cul-de-sac affording the convenience of a 10 minute walk to town, a 7 minute walk to Cal Poly Humboldt, a 3 minute drive to 101 and the quiet privacy of a rolling rural road. The refurbished original wood floors bring a classic yet new golden beauty to every room. The updated kitchen with cherry wood cabinets and prosumer Bosch and Viking appliances brings equal delight to preparing quick small meals for one or two as it does to being the central gathering point serving up a banquet of varied dishes when entertaining a moderate crowd. Open the sliding glass door and you effectively extend the kitchen to include a propane grill, an additional table and chairs and a long deck allowing up to 20 people to bask in the beautiful summer weather at the same time. Steps at the end of the deck lead to a fully enclosed yard for your exclusive use during your stay so your furry family members can bask in the beautiful summer sun with you so do not feel left out. The driveway next to the cottage fits two cars comfortably. Should you have extra guests, street parking is free, convenient, readily available, and restricted only by your imagination (and common sense, of course. We still live in a civilized society). A washer and dryer are available on the premises as well as a pool table and well-equipped exercise room.

The home was super clean. The pillows were really comfortable. The bedrooms had TVs and heaters. It was perfect for my family and dog.

The property is on the edge of town, down an alley that leads to several units. The neighbors were extremely nice. The house is nicely setup for traveling with dogs, with a small backyard. The inside is modest, comfortable and very cleam.

Everything we needed for a few days in Humboldt moving our son into school. The fenced yard was great for the dogs and the location was super convenient. Beds might use a topper but overall a decent spot if traveling with pups.

Park close by to run kids or pets. Spacious home with essentials. Bring your own kitchen towels and hand towels/wash cloths. Friendly and welcoming host. Hike Redwoods Park Trail
while there.
VRBO site not always functioning, so take photo of house info and check in and out process.

The house was well equipped with everything we needed, including a coin-opt laundry room. We would stay here again!

As we were driving the neighborhood trying to find our rental we noticed lots of random stuff in people's yards (oil cans, washing machines, old cars, etc) and lots of unkempt yards with trash. We drove behind a house to get to the unit. The carport is filled with random stuff and you can't park in it. It is partially closed with some planks of wood leaning against it. The yard was not enclosed (it had a small chair blocking part of the deck) The house seemed beat up and had a weird smell. The pictures do not show the entire property. It took us about 30 minutes after our arrival (at 8:00 PM) to finally get the code to unlock the door. After that we decided we didn't feel safe and we left to go find a hotel. This property is overly priced and falsely advertised. I don't think anyone would call it "quaint."

The fenced area for our dogs was good. Because we travel with them it was the very important. The kitchen was very nice and clean with pretty much everything you need to prepare any meals. The bedrooms were clean and the beds were adequate. Netflix and Hulu were available to watch which was nice. But the furniture in the living room was not comfortable at all and needs to be replaced. If you like to watch tv for more than 15 minutes or maybe just relax you will be very disappointed. Also, some of the amenities stated in the description were not there.

My wife and i (and our 3 dogs) stayed here while visiting our niece who in in school here. The place was perfect for us. It is close to everything and has a great fenced in yard for the pups. It is hard to find a nice place that allows 3 large dogs and we always appreciate when an owner allows for us to vacation with the whole family. Highly recommended.

I had a wonderful time in Arcata at this property.
When I arrived, the property hadn't been cleaned, sheets hadn't been changed, but the property manager was on-site at the time and hustled to get it all squared away. I made my own bed and was shown where to get towels and the like. (I made my own bed because I *wanted to*.) Property manager said that he'd refund the cleaning fee ("at least", was the promise) due to my changing my own linens and that was generous; I didn't have to ask. My friend's dog was happy in the yard and my daughter and her roommates who attend CPH were able to walk over for meals and visiting. It was quiet at night and reasonably clean. Hot water was hot! Nice little place.

Manager never responded to calls/emails/texts. TV & internet did not work. No toilet paper or paper towels.

Place is cute inside and did the job for us as we were visiting our daughter who lives a couple neighborhoods over.
It is very hard to find and the initial communication with the host was sparse, although he did get back to me quickly when I asked questions. I had to ask about the address and directions, the wifi, and really got no check out instructions.
The neighborhood is a little sketchy and the back alley it is located on is also sketchy, but it turned out fine.
But it all worked out and I appreciated the low fees charged by the host, we would stay again.

Easy to find, clean interior. Comfortable beds. Living room could use more seating so 3-4 adults could sit and watch television together. Overall good stay and will stay again!

My brother and I stayed here for a night on a Redwoods road trip. Would have happily stayed much longer. Cozy place with great kitchen and other amenities we didn't have time to fully enjoy. Cute town, lovely nearby campus. Eureka 15 minutes away. Wish we'd had more time to explore! I'll be back!

The house was clean and freshly remodeled.the neighborhood is a little shady. But the house is off the Main Street. Felt safe and that’s what matters.

We had a lovely time with our two cats that we took on this first trip to the redwoods. This house setting was their favorite part and ours too. We had never rented a house before. Only regular hotels. This house had everything we needed. We will be back

Worked out perfect for visiting my HSU student. Just 2 minutes away from campus.
Fenced yard was perfect for my two large pups. Maybe a 5-10 minute drive to a dog friendly beach! Worked out perfectly!

We, parents and three kids, stayed here for a short time, from 10 pm to 11 am. It was good.

Stayed for only one night but the yard was nice for our dog and the space was well taken care of. Will definitely be checking out this space again when we go back up.

We stayed for almost 3 weeks. The house is as described. Nothing fancy, but that suited us just fine. Plenty of room for the 2 of us and our dog. Convenient location. Great kitchen. Fenced yard was nice for our dog. Host was very accommodating on anything we needed. There is a washer/dryer on site. Overall, we had a great time. Definitely worth the price. We will stay here again.

There were so many aspects that were lovely. That said, it was very chilly but the coffee was hot. Was able to let my pet out the door to the patio and into the yard by herself. The bathroom and kitchen facilities were clean. New locks for the front door but the door didn't fit into the door jam but the neighborhood appear safe and proved so.

This place was a nice house with a decent sized yard for the pets. We were concerned by some of the reviews before we stayed, but those reviews are just complaining about nothing. You get what you see in the pictures. Nothing fancy, but for the price, it is a good value stay.

It was a good stay for a few nights, nothing fancy. The inside of the house is cute. We were traveling with a 75 pound dog and it was a great place for that. The fenced in back yard was the selling point for me. If I stayed again I would probably bring my own sheets and blankets but they had pots, spices, nice fridge, and two tv’s. Like 5 minutes from HSU!

Never even stepped foot in the house once we saw the surrounding area. When’s there’s no pictures of the outside, I should of steered clear. Then we we contacted vrbo, the owner was suppose to contact us, we waited for hours with no response: I will never use VRBO again.

We were unable to stay as the property was dirty and previous occupants towels and bed linens were all over the floor. There were bags filed with dog poop outside also. The owner never responded to us or VBRO and we ended up having to get a hotel at a considerable expense more than we would have paid. My advice never book this place

Tv never worked. Called owner, he could not fix it. Used coffee ground in coffee machine. Back yard
Not an attractive place to stay. Back yard a mess.

Casual home; Perfect if traveling with a Pet
Home was casual and simply decorated. Beds were comfortable with adequate bedding. Linens in closet. It was awesome to have a grassy, fenced backyard for our dog to run in! Dog water bowls were provided! Home set to rear of property, so it was very quiet.
Communication could improve. Host responded promptly to all emails I sent. However, in those emails, I was told there was an iron in the home and that I would be provided with access to the on-site gym upon check-in. No iron and no access to gym provided. I ended up having a nice walk in the neighborhood and let the ironing go. So, no biggie.
Overall, a quiet, comfortable home.
