About this house rental
This rustic lodge is located on the iconic Colorado Jeep Tours property just West of Canon City on Hwy 50 in the heart of the Royal Gorge Region. Just a half a mile from the Royal Gorge bike and hike trail system that runs 22 miles mostly along the Arkansas River which happens to be the most rafted river in the United States. Historic downtown with local cuisine and shopping including the Historical Royal Gorge Route Railroad is all just minutes away. And the World famous Royal Gorge Bridge and Park turn off is just 6.5 miles down the road. You can’t beat the location as everything is within a 10 minute drive.
The space
The comfy lodge was remodeled, has new furniture, and is ready with all the amenities of home including a massive covered back patio great for cooking out and having dinner or just sitting back and reading a book. The private back patio has plenty of room to keep your recreational equipment secure and out of the elements, including a bike rack and towels to wipe down your bikes and kayaks. The front patio is a great place to enjoy morning coffee or an evening night cap while soaking in the great views of Fremont Peak sitting at the propane fire pit table. Each of the three bedrooms has a queen bed and ample room to unpack your belongings. The dining room and living room have large windows with views of Fremont Peak and the zen garden. The kitchen has a farm look with modern appliances including a microwave, dishwasher, and oven.
Guest access
Entire upper level, front & back patio, and garden area. Plenty of private off street parking.
Other things to note
Exterior Security Cameras are in place for your security. There are security cameras monitoring & recording the public business areas on the front and sides of the building, as well as the driveways for business security purposes. There is also a camera on the back patio as well as an elevated camera above the front steps.
The lodge is located above the Colorado Jeep Tours office but out of the way of business activities. During the summer months you may encounter other guests during business hours on the rest of the property.
During the summer months we will need to water the garden so you might see us out there or on the patios during the day.
Winter months may require snow removal, we will be over to clear the walkways.
Due to severe health conditions and allergies we do not allow pets inside the lodge.

We had great time. The place is nice. We run out of hot water to take shower. We were washing the bedsheets since it didn't look clean.
Other than that, the kitchen, the living room, bathroom were nice.

We had a fine time staying at this property. The listing is everything that it claims. It is close to the attractions we came to visit. The kitchen was reasonably stocked with cooking stuff. There is a drip coffee maker. Wi-Fi worked fine.
I was a little concerned that the highway would be noisy, but I was able to tune it out.

We absolutely loved the property on top of the jeep tour business - loved how rustic it was. It made things super convenient for all the things we did while in Canon City! Cannot wait to come back - we will definitely look to stay here again!

This was a great place to stay in Canon City. It’s a very quick drive to downtown and Skyline Drive is on the ridge right behind the house. Very clean and comfortable with nice outdoor spaces to enjoy. The on-site person I interacted with was really friendly and helpful. I stayed in the back bedroom so road noise was not an issue.

The cabin was in a good central location for town and bridge park activities for our first visit to Canon City. We stayed in the shoulder season, so we didn't have any traffic from Jeep tours and the road noise was quiet in the evenings. We enjoyed the views of the mountains covered with a dusting of snow as we hung out on the front deck around the fire table. The accommodations inside are nicely appointed and comfortable. We would stay again on a visit to the area.

Although you're staying on top of a business, you never notice. The view from the garden in the morning was beautiful! We had everything we needed to make dinner and live very comfortably for my week in Colorado, worth every penny spent!

Great location, plenty of room and the deck patio amenities were fantastic. I was a little worried that we would be sharing the property with other guests, but it's actually above a shop and there wasn't any interference. One of the best VRBO experiences I've had.

Nice Place
We enjoyed our stay here. As it says in the listing, it is rustic, kind of cabin-ish but has everything that you need. The host was very responsive to our questions and needs. The beds were comfortable. We were thankful for the ceiling fans and air conditioning as it was very warm the weekend we stayed. We'd definitely stay here again.

Better than described. Very private despite over tour office.
Perfect choice for stay in this area. Location: Close to town - but just outside. Hard to describe unless know what skyline drive is. Look on map. Less than ten minute drive to Royal Gorge, and an hour to Pikes Peak, Cripple Creek and other sites. Huge house. AC was great for summer, and I’m sure heat would be too. Comfortable open feeling, covered decks on each side of house, with wonderful furniture. Even an extra garden area. Everything thought out - with plenty of towels, blankets, detergent, TP, kitchen and dining ware, etc. Washer and dryer nice to have. Huge smart TV. Beds, linens excellent. We’ve stayed in over 100 vacation rentals in several countries. This was a last second rental I did not have time to research (needed something close to friends and not much left anyway) and thankfully ! it was amazing. I cannot imagine anything better. Also very excellent value on top of being so nice. We were only the second guests. The owners/hosts/manager were incredibly kind, and there for us if needed. We took a Jeep tour as well, which was the highlight of trip. The owner has been in business there for so long and makes it the best for sure. Make your trip easy and go for this place to stay, and way to book Royal Gorge visit also. We were just a couple, but this accommodates 6 easily. Even though one bathroom - it is nice with very high water pressure, huge tub, plenty of hot water, lots of towels…It is hard to tell what you are renting from photos…just imagine better than looks and you won’t be disappointed.
