this hotel is amazing. decorated in a very beautiful unique style. wonderful bed and bedding. Hot tub is clean and big. Pool is nice. Owner Chris is very super friendly. He even helped is with our car and would not allow us to give him money. He bent over backwards more than once to see that our need were met.

Booked due to limited availability elsewhere for state fair weekend. We figured a bed was a bed and it wouldn’t be that bad. WRONG! We got in late the first night, there was group of guys loitering/drinking in the parking lot. Lots of yelling that continued for hours after the front desk person said he’d already talked to them and they were leaving. The pool looked like a swamp. The room left much to be desired. Carpet is gross and sticky. Lighting is very limited, especially in the bathroom. In trying to locate plug ins for phone charging, we found a power strip (not even a surge protected power strip) was placed under all of the pillows the middle bed… electrical fire waiting to happen! The dining table is physically located inside the closet. The couch looked straight out of the 70’s. The bathroom door wouldn’t close all of the way. There’s a train that runs right by this hotel and we were awoken by the noise/horn 4 times in the night. Luckily we found an airbnb that would accommodate us for the second night and we left early. Wouldn’t recommend even if you’re in a bind for somewhere to lay your head.

Growing up in this area, I was familiar with this hotel as it WAS. I never had need to stay there -- but also probably wouldn't have. The upgrades, renovations, attention to details (inside/outside) were surprising for the price. Definitely not 5 star but well worth the investment. The only reason I didn't give a FULL 5 star is primarily due to check-in (3pm): I arrived appx 3:10pm. Nobody was there with no sign, "bell", etc. After waiting a few minutes, I called the only number listed in the office/desk. The man who answered simply said, "There's nobody there, but I'll be there in about 15 minutes." I had no choice but to wait. (I'd already paid. Non-refundable.) He did finally arrive. He did "upgrade" my room to a king and accommodated my ground floor request. Otherwise, my stay was fairly quiet and uneventful (good shower, comfortable bed, TV worked great, 2 complimentary waters in the fridge, clean inside and out, etc.). Would recommend for an economy stay just know there appears to be no full-time desk staff, so you may wait... or, if there's a maintenance issue... It's a trade, I suppose. :)

The service was great. The manager noticed my kids went swimming and brought extra towels to the room without being asked. The hotel is older ,but is in the middle of a renovation so there was work being done but it didn't impose on us. The area looks a bit sketchy but there are security cameras and it is well lit so we didn't feel anxious. One of the best breakfast places in town is only a few blocks away; try the pancakes.

This was about the cheapest property in the area and it shows. If I had paid more, I would have expected more - but got what $50 a night would offer. The gentleman at check in was very friendly and personable and seemed to be working on renovating rooms. Our room was clean except for a few dead flies on the window sill. Each room had its own banquet-style chair outside the door next to make shift ash tray/cups on the AC units. The beds had dark colored sheets, which was different. The shower/bath tub was slippery and I almost fell a couple times but caught myself. There was no hot water at 7:45 in the morning. The room waste basket had a Walmart bag as a liner - but I do that at home with my bathroom cans. I found the bed to be soft but the rest of my party said they were TOO soft and not much support. Breakfast was next to nothing - some cereal selections, donuts cut in half and yogurt. We opted for the Golden Arches across the street.
Perhaps the most concerning were the 6 or so patrol cars that pulled in lights and sirens 20 minutes after we checked in. They all went to the office but unknown why. They cleared after a half hour.

They didn’t have my reservation as what I had asked for. Then I wanted the rooms next to each other I was upstairs and my sister and a mom wher downstairs and across the way. They couldn’t resolve it while I was there to drop off my things. But when we got back they had found another room. It wasn’t cleaned yet, but they really worked hard to make things right. Have to give them kudos for working very hard to resolve the issue. Very friendly and good to us rooms were decent for the price.

The man at the front desk was helpful and nice. The room is great for the price. The only issue was the bathroom. The floor was not swept properly as i could see hair on the floor and dead bugs behind the toilet and under the sink. One of the washcloths had a long hair on it as well.

Went to check in no body was at the front desk to greet. The area felt sketchy. So we turned around and book another hotel. Felt unsafe.

The hotel is worn out. It is very rundown. We found a roach in our room and left. Management said Expedia would cover any refund. Expedia says they dont cover refunds less than $99.99. Sucks all the way around.

It is an older motel but still, very well kept, and cleans. You can tell the owner has pride in providing good accommodations. The beds were comfy. The room temp regulated well. They went above and beyond to make sure we had a place to park close with a child on crutches. Only downfall was the train horns but that is out of there control. Thank you!

We needed a place to get warm, shower, watch TV after school was cancelled and our power was still out. This place was warm and comfortable. McDonald’s and Spangles are both across the street and deliver. We would stay again

The management was awesome.
The room was fine; it's an older facility that has been maintained well. Don't expect cosmetic perfection but you will get more-than-reasonable function. Clean towels with no odor. Decent bedding and carpet. More than adequate amenities.
I was a bit uncomfortable with the level of cleanliness. When we arrived, my son found a sock from a previous occupant that was beside one of the beds, and there was a piece of white candy plainly visible under the lip of the dresser. The trash can in the bathroom covered an icky section of floor that had not been cleaned, and there were two long, black hairs on the wall of the shower.
I am grateful that the place permitted pets/dogs, but there was dog feces all over the place outside in the minimal landscaping and even on the sidewalk outside our room where someone had stepped in a pile and tracked it. A little poop-patrol would go a long way!
It's a mom-and-pop place; I get it, so overall, it was alright when considering the cost and the prompt and friendly service that the management provided.

I have stayed here 2 other times and everything was great. This time I had not so great service. I went in to check in and there was no one in the office so I waited and waited but no one came. I looked around but no button to push or a phone to use. Finally I saw a phone number in the office area that said "For late night check in. So I dialed the number, even though it was 4 in the after noon. Someone answered the phone and someone came to check me in. So I went to my room and opened the door and it was freezing cold in the room and no heater was on. I got the heat on but it seemed to take forever to warm up and the bathroom never got warm enough to take a shower. Definitly not the kind of service I had before. Also the next day someone knocked on my door while I was napping and asked if I had a cat. Then was asked again if I had a cat and told him both times "no". They need a do not disturb sign.

We were in town for a wedding and used the room only for sleeping and changing clothes. Nothing fancy, but sufficient. Very reasonably priced, and when we had to shorten our stay the refund was very prompt.

OK. Fit our one night stay. Inexpensive

When you first pull in you might think this is just a good place to stay a night. But when you look around you need to see that this is a work in progress and a labor of love. The parking lot has construction equiptment but no trash, no cigarette buts and things like that. What you do see is new shrubs planted, painting in progress and good things to happen. My room was a pleasant surprise in that it felt like a real bedroom. I stay in many hotels and motels and hate that they lack color, white on white on white and abstract art that lacks imagination. But this room had color! A beautiful red bed spread, matching pillows, a wonderful shower curtain and towels. The pictures on the wall were delightful and one was a puzzle that had been framed. I loved it!

My stay here was interesting to say the least. The rooms are pretty decent considering the price, no complaints there. It’s other factors that led to this being a pretty undesirable experience. The area the motel is located in is very rough, lots of people on drugs and trash everywhere. The owner called the cops on a tenant and the tenant was screaming for hours on end from about 9pm-11pm. On top of all of this, the owner was not personable at all, which is fine… but he stood there and watched as his dog peed on my vehicle twice. Pretty rude behavior from someone who’s running the business.

Room was pretty dirty, un fit for a family with small children. Low class facility. Ended up leaving and not staying at that hotel
3.0 / 10.0
The room was adequate for a one night stay. It seemed to be in the middle of a remodel. Not the best place we’ve ever stayed but not the worst.
