The cabin had everything we could need and it was very clean. Very quiet and walking distance to beaches and MO’s chowder and Seafood which is a must! The only minor inconvenience we had was the wifi was spotty. I reached out to our contact person and they reset it and everything was fine, it did do it again the next day but we were out all day and the Roku on the tv worked so it must have been a separate network. We will definitely be back next year!

Got here and really enjoyed the quiet. The town is close by, and everything was as described in the listing. I must admit I was hesitant at first when my wife showed me the listing. But I went along with her idea. we really enjoyed ourselves. we walked to the punch bowl and the wine store there as well as the chowder. Oh pay attention to your email for updates. I didnt and missed out on the code to get the keybox code.

It was very hot in the unit and there was no air conditioning. We got there late and left very early.

Nothing fancy but an awesome place to stay for a surf weekend! A really great find, highly recommend!

All in all, a nice little getaway. I love the location but the unit we were in had a tiny stand up shower that was interesting to maneuver around in. I would stay there again.

It was an older style house but it did the job. The bed and couch were pretty uncomfortable but that could have just been for me. Great location though, quite and nice houses nearby.

My spouse and I celebrated our anniversary here for a couple nights at end of May. Linens and towels and counters and floors were neat and clean, heat worked fine, tap water tasted good, streamed a movie each night on the TV / Roku. Slept well on the bed. Neighborhood was peaceful and quiet. The building itself and some doors and trim are worn and chipped here and there. It's not a luxury setting, but it was comfortable and worked well for our needs.

URINE STAINED BEDDING - ( see pics ).
Owners response to Expedia in our open case file:
..."seems strange they were checking the bed"....
My husband checked the bed after sitting on the filthy vinyl couch and smelling 'bottom'.
....and it goes on :....toilet door doesn't latch, so you have to hold it shut as you poop.......exterior doors with huge gaps and daylight shining in..... dirty trim.....dirty stained chairs around the dinner table.
We had three nights booked here but left within 30 minutes. Seller didn't answer my husband's calls or texts, so we locked up and left.
We ARE NOT fussy older people, we go camping, we enjoy thrift stores, we love the outdoors and adventure.
A case is open with Expedia and we would like a full refund, otherwise we will be taking legal advice.

The cabin at Surf Haven was a delight! Just a short walk from the Devil's Punchbowl Arch, the cabin was situated right in the middle of an agate hunter's dream, as that stretch of coast from Depoe Bay to Yaquina Head is well known to rock hounders around the PNW. Beautiful location, great accommodations, would definitely recommend.

Most of my time was spent at the coast, but time at the house was good. It was warm, quiet and comfortable. No frills but all I needed.

The cabin was well stocked, It would have been nice to have a night light. There was About a 4" step down to the bathroom which Unless you were expecting it it was easy to fall. The bed was a little bit hard
Other than that, it was great.

As expected. Not the best accommodations, but adequate. Many electrical outlets don't work. Fire alarm disabled. TV ok , but downloads slow. Kitchen clean and functional, but don't expect to prepare gourmet. Couch/sofa new, but bring a sleeping bag if someone's going to sleep on it. Good location.

Hidden gem (shh, don’t tell anyone ;)
Marvelous location, great value for the money. Small but charming – not for those who expect Holiday Inn sameness, but comfy and had everything we needed. Loved the original paintings in bathroom and bedroom. :)

Cozy and snug
Delightfully quaint space close by the ocean. Our sat was during a truly dark and stormy night but we were snug and dry. Easy access, ample room and parking. Nice!

Thanks!
Comfy bed, great location, and a fully-equipped kitchen. We will make sure to come back the next time we are on the coast!

Needs improvement
Advertised as sleeping 3 but there were no sheets for the couch bed which made it uncomfortable for the 3rd person. Towels smelled musty. 3 lightbulbs were burned out. The GFI outlet in the kitchen nearest the stove was not working. Out goal was not luxury accommodations - it was being able to spend time with a friend who we hadn't seen since Jan. 2020 because of Covid, so that was successful. Location was great, we really enjoyed time around the firepit. The unit actually looked better than the photos on the website. But it needs some maintenance as described above and some deep cleaning or airing out to get rid of the musty smell.

Small cabin close to beach
The rental was a roof over our heads and a place to make some small meals, that’s all we needed. The hot tub and fireplace were a bonus for sure! However the hot water does NOT work (or at least didn’t for us) so don’t plan to shower unless you want a very frigid cold one. Overall, the house was clean, has heating, and is very close to the beaches for a very fair price. Would recommend to others, but know it’s nothing fancy so if you want to feel luxurious then look elsewhere. Good stay, great price! :)

Good location
It's nothing fancy but it does the job if you are looking for a place on the coast that doesn't cost a fortune.

We got there and the rental was freezing. Turned on the heaters. The heater in the main room was extremely low. Little heat blowing out from top of heater. Cold air blowing out from bottom of the heater. The heater in sleeping room was better. However, it stopped working with in the first couple of hours. It went from freezing to tolerable, but still cold before we retired. Since we did not have heat coming from sleeping room heater and the main room heater was low output the rental was never heated to a tolerable temperature. We woke up to an extremely cold environment. This an acceptable option for a late fall/winter rental if there is no heat. We were unable to enjoy our stay as for the cold air made it intolerable.

Great location for beach playing
We loved our stay- especially being able to walk to the uncrowned beach so easily. The unit was as described and was comfortable for our small family of 4. It wasn’t as clean as other rentals we’ve used and did have quite a musty smell so we tried to have the windows open as much as we could to air it out. The one negative that we experienced was that there was landscaping work going on at the property and the 2nd morning we were there there was a knock on the door around 7 or 7:30 or so before we were up which scared my wife and kids. There was a backhoe that needed to get into the backyard and the noise/ surprise of this wasn’t really pleasant but we got over it. This part of the coast was beautiful and we had a great time

Disappointed in accommodations
Hot tub green and dirty possibility of contracting legionnaires disease or pseudomonas.
Outside trash overflowing on Monday still not picked up on Friday. This was outside bedroom window. Very stinky.
No extra pillowcases or the extra pillows.
Some of the electrical outlets did not work.
No dishwasher soap.
Elevation changes possible tripping hazard.
No landings outside doors.

Cute and convenient
Full kitchen, comfortable bed, and so close to the beach! There's wifi, a TV with the ability to connect to Netflix, and a hotub which is a huge plus. The only things that weren't perfect were that the couches weren't super comfortable, and there were a few insects and spiders we ended up letting outside. It's an older house with a ton of character, and I think the few creepy crawlies were a result of that.
We loved our stay overall!

Honest
The place was exactly as described online. Very honest on the advertisement. Old cottage but well maintained. Everything was super clean. Close to the beach! Lots of hot water for showers after spending the day in the cold. Plenty of towels although few washcloths. Good wifi and the kitchen was fairly stocked. Didn't try the hot tub so can't comment on that. Instructions in the renter's manual were clear and easy. Loved the quiet and the solitude. Would definitely recommend this place and would rent it again!

Great beach house at a great value!
Wonderful stay, just what we were looking for. Clean, comfortable, quiet little place in a cute older neighborhood, and a great value. Walking distance to a beautiful beach, though if you have walking issues, realize there are several flights of stairs to get down to the beach. But, other beaches very nearby that are easier. E.g. Beverly Beach. Sort of a shabby chic motif but modern where needed, e.g newer dishwasher. Bed was very comfortable.

Nice little place
We love Newport and the surrounding area. This cabin was exactly what we wanted, nothing too fancy or expensive, just place to crash for a few nights and cook a quick meal in between out adventures.
Last time we stayed at a place in Newport, which was fine, but this place is more quiet and is only a few minutes walk from a nice beach and the punchbowl. We enjoyed our stay!

Great Little cabin
Cabin is comfortable and a good value. Great location near devils punch bowl. Also located right between Newport and Depoe Bay.

Comfortable & reasonable if on a budget
The “cabin” is actually attached to a house split into separate rentals with separate entrances. No odor, recently renovated and two of us enjoyed our comfortable stay. Location is about halfway between Depoe Bay and Newport. Nothing fancy but clean and has complete kitchen including a dishwasher. Shower but no tub. Ideal if a family of four on a budget wanted to prepare your own meals and explore Depoe Bay and Newport then relax away from hustle and bustle. There are two ways to walk down to the beach. Can walk to "Punchbowl". Price is right and children can unwind in a semi private wooded area. Like camping with electricity but not rough-rough. If you’re accustomed to a desk rep, king sized bed, room and maid service it’s not for you.

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at this cute little beach cottage
Otter Rock is a tiny ocean front town a short walk from the cottage, it has a Mo's restaurant, a surf shop, and a wine shop - that's it. But Devil's punch bowl is right there and dramatic ocean views. The cottage has all you need to enjoy a stay at the coast: a nice bathroom, a fully equipped modern kitchen, and a large tv. It was a good value too.

Enjoyed the stay... but...
This was a very quaint place. Very small and very simple. It was hot when we were there, and there was no A/C, there wasn't even a fan. The property was supposed to have a grill, but it only had a community fire pit. The location was beautiful and we spent most of our time enjoying the area, so it wasn't too bad! The bungalow exterior was scheduled to be painted while we were there, which we were not made aware of until the day we checked into the rental. We had to leave for most of the day before we were allowed to return. Again, it is small and cheap, but don't get your hopes up on the appearance or the grill...

Simple and serviceable...a cost effective way to have your own space within beach walking distance.
If you are looking for simplicity and privacy on a budget (which we were), this is a solid place to stay. Kitchen with all needed pots, pans, appliances, comfortable bed, provided linens, good communication.

Very Cute Cabin
We went with our boys and had a great experience! Dan was extremely nice and professional. We thought the bed was very comfortable and our boys were comfortable on the pull out bed. The kitchen had all the essentials we needed to cook a meal. The bathroom came stocked with shampoo, conditioner, and body wash. The beach was close by and so AMAZING! We will definitely be back again!
