I was extremely impressed with Augherea House, a real oasis of calm and comfort and a cut above the usual B&B. Matt was an excellent host, the room facilities were wonderful and the breakfast outstanding!

Amazing accommodation and made-to-order breakfast in converted stables at the back of a stately home.
4.8
A fabulous conversion of an old building, it was beautiful, comfortable, luxurious.
Spotlessly clean, well equipped room ( lovely to have fresh milk in a jug) huge bed, state of the art bathroom, top quality produce cooked to order for breakfast. Very good value.
Matt had thought of everything to make this a very relaxing stay, we would love to stay again for longer.
Nothing!

Lovely setting as part of renovated old building. Kitchen/ dining area immaculate. Rooms new, tidy and clean
All good - perhaps prefer windows with views in bedroom.

The location was excellent The property is beautiful The breakfast was lovely
There was nothing not to like

Lovely country setting. The property has been tastefully renovated and was a pleasure to stay in. Top class room and en-suite with a balcony view of the walled garden
4.8
The room was beautiful, comfortable and clean. Being able to open the doors and have fresh air and a view of the paddocks with the sheep was very relaxing.
Beautiful breakfast, and the best porridge I’ve ever had!
Matt was very knowledgeable and friendly.
Only one minor thing, the drapes weren’t block out, and that combined with the glass bathroom door let a bit too much light in, in the morning.

Breakfast was made to order by a talented chef. The fruit was varied and fresh, the full Irish breakfast was spot on and the salmon was like silk. Even the oatmeal was a treat the way it was prepared.
Everything was outstanding. Great historic building. Very nice room and bath.

As we passed the gate and drove up towards the courtyard, we were mesmerised by the landscape (beautiful pastures and giant old trees). The courtyard where we were staying was very quaint - originally a coach house framed with stone walls and some old touches like the door bell.
We were greeted by Matt, who was friendly, welcoming and very professional. He escorted us to our surprisingly spacious room which was set up to the highest standards - besides the modern ensuit shower room, view to the walled garden, tea, bottled water and a map to local interests were also included.
The full irish beakfast was prepared by Matt himself, the bacon, eggs and sausages fried perfectly and with barely any grease or oil on them.
The overall experience felt like a luxurious 5* hotel stay for the privacy and price of a B&B.
We definitely will be back, thank you Matt!
There is nothing you not to like about this place

Everything about the beakfast was first class.
2 room keys would be better, I like to go for an early morning walk and needed to take the room only key with me which meant my wife was unable to leave the room untill I came back. Although we found the guest house using sat-nav an entrance road sign would helpful.

Friendly, comfortable and delicious breakfast.

Owner was very rude. After breakfast my wife asked if we could check out at 11:30 as we were attending a wedding in the area, she was informed in a rude tone by the owner that checkout was at 11:00 and that he had a busy turnover. There were no other guests to be seen. My wife asked would 11:15 be possible as otherwise we would have to get ready for the wedding in the car due to a hair appointment in town at 10:00. He replied in an impatient tone "sure you surely checked the check out time when when booking". We promptly left the accommodation having never before been spoken to in such a way by a service provider. We would strongly not recommend staying here. The owner really upset us and ruined the start of our friends wedding day.
4.8
Very comfortable bed. Lovely room. Good breakfast.
There was a little inflexibility around checking in. We were lucky that our friend picked up the keys for us. Otherwise, it would have been a lot of hassle. This was only a problem though because we had to be somewhere at a certain time.

Location
Noisy, could hear other guests morning alarms and breakfast prep and eating.
Friendly host but lacked traditional Irish hospitality.
4.8
Everything. The surroundings are an idyllic Irish countryside, the insides were immaculately clean, the room was like a four or five star hotel, and the breakfast was at a professional level. The only downside was that it set our expectations for the rest of the trip so high period.
I, personally, was not a fan of the bed. It was very soft foam cushions. I recognize that this is a preference thing, though.
4.8
Very unique guest house and a lovely and quiet place to stay

Augherea House is a hidden gem, fantastic breakfast, excellent host (Matt) who goes above and beyond to ensure that your stay is 5 star.
4.8
There was absolutely nothing that I did no like.
Though a little difficult to locate in the dark.
4.8
Excellent host who was sensitive to our needs and plans, Matt took the time to speak with us about our interest in the area and also provided direction in our ancestry search. The room was very clean, comfortable, and had everything we needed. We were given choices for breakfast which we hadn't expected, and the breakfast was excellent! I would highly recommend this B&B! Was a pleasure to spend time there!

Everything was to a very high standard and the bed was exceptionally comfortable and spacious
