Very cosy, private space in a stunning location. Easy check-in, great location. Never stayed in such a well-equipped place for that amount of time. Wonderful!!

Shepherds Delight is an amazing, well designed shepherds hut in beautiful surroundings with everything needed to make your stay perfect. The location is great for breathtaking walks and not too far to walk for Tintern Abbey. A gorgeous log burner is perfect for those chilly evenings with plenty of wood, or there's an outdoor firepit for those long summer evenings.
That we didn't stay longer

The property was clean and everything you needed for an overnight stay. Modern and contemporary inside. Very quiet. Electric heating was quick to heat the chalet.
Although we couldn't locate the key lock box from the directions given. The host saw us through the window of the main house looking lost and came out to help, so that was OK. Thank goodness it wasn't dark !
The directions to find the lock box and the chalet once we reached the property were ambigous. The instructions said 50 metre from the car park so logically we followed the tarmaced footpath. However the location was indeed 50 metres from the carpark but along a grassy footpath, so inevitably we missed the hut.
The loo seat moved sideways when used which was very unsettling! I reported this immediately but the host didn't get back to us until a day after we had left.
It would have been helpful if there was some washing up liquid, kitchen cleaning spray and kitchen paper provided so make the cleaning of the kitchen possible. We had to provided our own.

Very pretty & practical
Sign for Apple Tree Barn is not noticeable at all, needs repainting for better access.
We drove past it 3 times, if it had been winter & dark you would never had seen it

I wanted a few days peace and quiet to myself, and this was perfect. The owner has done everything to create a simple but comfortable and cosy retreat. I didn't leave the hut once in three days #hermitlife. But it's also a great base if you're exploring the area. Tintern is lovely, and there are a few walking and bike trails in the area.
Checking in is simple: park a few yards away and retrieve the keys from the lockbox.
The interior was exceptionally clean and tidy, with all the basics you need - including a couple of bottles of local beer waiting for you in the fridge. (Good stuff, by the way.)
There's a couple of chairs, two barstools and of course the bed. Comfy bed, too, with storage below. The usual kitchen utensils plus kettle, oven, cooktop, and fridge. No microwave or dishwasher but you won't miss them. You'll be happy washing your dishes by hand watching the horse in the field across the drive.
Bathroom is small, as you'd expect. But how much time are you going to be spending in there anyway?
There's a small log burner, with firelighters, kindling and logs provided. Like every other log burner, it throws out a ton of heat and it heats up the hut very quickly. There's also an electric panel radiator if you don't want to use the burner. The radiator alone with keep you warm.
Most important, of course - wifi! The hut is out in the sticks, but the speed (about 6MB/s, sometimes faster) was plenty for video calls and streaming video. Mobile connection is patchy, but if you've got wifi calling on your phone, you're golden.
Next time I want some time to myself, I'd definitely come here again. Might do a bit of exploring next time. Might just stay in. Again.

beautiful little hut with everything you need. nice and quiet. A bit of a walk from the centre of tintern, took around 35 minutes. plenty of walks on the doorstep, along with pubs.
The bed was too short for my 6 foot partner and the pillows weren’t the best. the shower was a bit temperamental and very low pressure

Very nice little hut with everything you could wish for on a relaxing weekend away from busy city. Just perfect!

This is an amazing place to stay. The hut actually felt big, so well thought out and decorated. Awesome decor from furniture to things on shelves and walls. We had wet weather and spent a lot of time here with the log burner and cosiness. You can walk out to a great forest walk here, as well as drive into the Forest of Dean in 15 mins. The bed was super comfy, the vintage chairs were lush, the little breakfast bar was such a great touch in this space, made you feel like you had so many different environments in one small space. The treats left for us in the fridge were a lovely touch. Would 100% come back here again, its dreamy.
Nothing at all!

we didnt have access to a car but thats nothing wrong with the property just if you dont have a car, the nearest shop is an hours walk.

It was a very comfortable and cosy experience in a very peaceful area. The facilities were good and the fire pit was a lovely bonus. Very private and seeing the horse roam around init he field opposite was really enjoyable.
The oven was not very reliable and some of the plates were not clean when you arrive. However it’s nothing major as you can just give them a quick clean in the very big sink!
