The jungle and beach are amazing
We were in a tent in a construction zone- at 9 am till 5:30 hammers would bang against steal beams and welding smoke would fill our tent. I would not recommend this place until construction is completed maybe 6-7 months. I would also be very concerned about how this place might feel when it is at full capacity. It could easily transform from jungle preserve to holiday concentration camp.

El lugar es un paraíso apartado del todo ,👌
El calor que hacen en las habitaciones es muy desagradable mi primer día no dormir nada porque solo sudaba , pero es lo único malo del resto el lugar es extraordinario

Fantastic location
Moving on the island is difficult / impossible.

Everything... The room (cabin with aircon), the beach, the restaurant, the staff (Eduardo is awesome).
Everything was wonderful, except the bathroom, which could be better (finishings).

The position between the beach and the rain forest, the whole staff, the restaurant

Clean, spacious and comfortable dorm. You can enjoy the jungle noise from your bed (pack earplugs!). But are also directly at the beach!
The food was very good.
There were no free activities (I guess because it’s off season?!) so they shouldn’t put that into the description on Booking.
For Solo Travelers: Walks to other beaches are not recommend to do alone.
More hooks in the dorm! On the beds, on the lockers.. Wherever, just put more hooks to store the stuff!

Where to begin? I'm reticent to tell the whole truth here because I want to keep this secret spot to myself. Palmar Lodge is such a gem and I will 100% return. It seems to me that every detail is inspired and I found myself admiring the the craftsmanship and low-key stylish details around every corner. The staff is incredible and the food is amazing. We had a room with A/C which is a must for me and worth the extra price if you are not used to humidity. The beach is breathtaking. The sunsets are picturesque. The evenings are quiet. The location gives you the totally disconnected out-of-the way vibe without being uncomfortable. You can go days here without ever putting your shoes on, but eat and drink like a king and meet other cool people. Lots of excursion option, but we mostly just chilled out and didn't feel any pull to leave the beach there. It was also nice having a lifeguard on the beach as some riptides were serious.
The hike in was cool but difficult with luggage that isn't a backpack. You have to ask for help via an employee pushing a wheel barrow. It's fine but kinda weird too. I wish there were more Panamanian food options on the menu. I would also like to see more shade structures and lounge chairs on the beach.

It was nestled in the jungle but also right on the beach! Lovely and fun. We stayed in the cabin with AC, which was great.
There is only one or so place for food, so after two or three days, we were good. But the staff was absolutely amazing!

Food was incredible. Staff was super friendly. Grounds in great shape and lovely beach.
Not their fault but just so hot most of the time.

Location was great if you want to stay away of the crowds of bocas town. Very friendly staff. Walking distance of polo amazing beach for some secluded beaches with great snorkeling.
Had some cockroaches in the room and bed on the second night.

Amazing location, right at the beach but still a jungle feeling. The food is great and the staff very helpful and lovely. We felt very comfortable and would come back anytime.

the hotel is located right at the beach which is very beuatiful! the food and drinks are amazing and for a good price. the staff is also very friendly, always up for a chat and very helpful.
the rooms do not have AC so it is very hot during the nights. also there are a lot of bugs (like cockroaches), but I guess that’s just part of being in the jungle…

Great location right at the beach while immersed in a tropical jungle. Great rooms. Good food and drinks.

beachfront location, great eco lodge type of property, we were immersed with nature saw all different types of birds, sloths, lizards. The staff was pretty amazing and the hotel food was very good as well. We will definitely be back - it’s one of the few hotels in bocas del toro that is beach front
everything was great

Beach with very comfortable long chairs with palapa. Very nice restaurant with greath healthy food. Enough choices for 3 lunch and 3 dinners. We love everything from the yoga classes, the sand paths to the hamac on our front porch.
Lack of wine choices. Staff at the reception could be more welcoming.

location is amazing - on the beach but you are still surrounded by the rainforest
very comfortable beds (we stayed in a dorm)
great place to relax
the food at the restaurant was most of the time cold when it got to our table

Great food, the rooms are in the jungle, and the hostel on the beach. It’s perfect to relax because it is quite isolated. You have to walk 7 min after getting off the boat to reach it.
The doors are very noisy, in the shared bedroom we would wake up several times during the night because of this.

Perfect spot to relax and come down. The bungalows are situated in the jungle with the sound of the waves breaking.

perfect location, clean rooms and bathrooms.
food is okay but overpriced and portions are small. my boyfriend and another guest got food poisoning

Remote Location at the Red Frog Beach. Very good food in the Bar/Restaurant and fair prices.
Pretty expensive for what you get. The service could improve a lot (restaurant, the employees are quite cold, inattentive and unfriendly, they charge for snorkeling masks and you get sandy and moldy masks and tubes). Many of the activities they offer don‘t take place because there are too few people participating.

Palmar was the best holiday place I've ever stayed at. It's very cosy, not crowded, the location is spectacularly beautiful but what will always stay in my heart is the people who make you feel at home. I recommend Palmar to everyone who wants to experience heaven on the Earth.

Wow this place. Going to sleep listening to the waves crashing and the jungle. Then waking up and going for a morning swim. The staff is amazing and made me feel so welcome. Theres activities going on daily here and if there is something specific you want to do, people were happy to make sure that it happened. The food is reasonably priced and really good! The drinks are great and their daily happy hour is even better. I met people i will never forget here and views as well.
nothing this place is perfect

the beach is amazing, there are stray dogs and cats that come visit and are very friendly, the staff at front desk are nice and helpful, there are other activities such as beach volleyball, cornhole, and bonfires
the food was a little expensive for a backpacker budget and there is no where else to eat nearby for a lower price. servers were sometimes inattentive.

beach and beachbeds
restaurant employees
free water
- bed was not clean (molton)
- high price for the room, not worth the price. We had the most expansive room, the bungalow.
- dogs are following which is not comfortable, nobody is watching afther them
- 1 employee of the reception and 1 employee at the restaurant were not really pro active and hospitable
- snorkelset 5 dollar for renting, this needs to be free if you pay 180€ a night
- breakfast not included
- locker wasnt working ( only with the key )
- no warm water
- i needed to clean the beachbeds myself
