We had a fabulous time celebrating two 60th birthdays with a group of girlfriends. Perfect location, walking distance to wineries and town. Beautiful home.
3.0 / 5.0
It was very unique and accommodated our family gathering well.
The stove/oven was not as pictured. The nice one had been replaced with one that looks like it should be in an apartment, not a “luxury” property. The hood in the kitchen was useless while cooking. There was algae growth in the pool and the exposed rebar and plastic pipes in and around the spa are quite unsafe.
This property has so much potential, but it is definitely in a state of disrepair and needs A LOT of TLC.

We all had a great time. There was plenty of room for sleeping and bathrooms. We enjoyed the pool and hot tub even though the weather was a little bit on the cool side and some rain we grilled every night and enjoyed the large kitchen so we could all eat together.

This house was really a fun and unique place to stay! Beds were comfortable, there were plenty of towels, supplies, dishes, silverware, etc. and the cookware was good quality. Management was very helpful and provided a high chair and portable crib for baby. The hot tub was great even in cold weather. It’s a quiet neighborhood but close to markets, restaurants, wine tasting, Carmel, etc. We enjoyed a family of deer that visited the yard. Our family had a great time at the house!

This is a very unique property in an nice location. It would be even better if if were maintained. Exhaust fan over the stove/oven did not work; when the a maintenance team came to fix it they found that there wasn't any fan installed. The shower in the master suite did not work; the plumbers replaced the shower head and it worked for exactly two showers before being reduced to a dribble again. The cable connection to the TV in the kitchen does not work. Although there is a garbage disposal visible under the kitchen sink, there is not obvious switch to turn it on.
A message to VRBO/Luxe Vaca - if you are going to continue to list this place at the current rates, you really should do a better job of due diligence. It is fairly outrageous to charge what you do for something this poorly maintained.

Overall a great place for a family reunion: spacious, comfortable, fantastic outdoor space, beautiful view and convenient walk to restaurants, shops and wineries.

Great house for a guys trip to Monterey Bay for Car week - House we’ll accommodated 7 or us - it is well outfitted, comfortable, and peaceful. The house has nice grounds, a fire pit, and plenty of parking. It was our second stay in the house.

Our party of 8 had a wonderful stay at this amazing home. It is perfectly situated to enjoy the area. Less than a 5 minute walk into the village where there are ample places to eat, drink, and shop, and around 20 minutes drive into Carmel. The home was exceptionally clean when we arrived and it was very well-stocked. The outdoor space was amazing although the pool had not been heated. It was a chilly week so we enjoyed the hot tub daily. The bedrooms were spacious although the middle bedroom on the second floor was not a bedroom at all. It had a bed in it but no doors, which was not shown in the photo of the floor plan. We spent a lot of time in the kitchen/dining area, which really needed some extra light. One couple stayed in the guest house but there was no lock so valuables had to be bought into the main house whenever we left for the day. Overall, the home was a great find and we would rent this property again.

We came here for a wedding in Carmel and this property accommodated our family beautifully. It was spacious, well-appointed and very private, with gorgeous grounds. We will definitely rent this property again for a future family vacation!

We rented the villa for a long weekend with friends (11 adults and a child) and really enjoyed it. The location is within walking distance to restaurants, wineries, and markets. The home has comfortable leather couches so a large group can chat near the wood-burning fireplace. The garden is huge and well maintained with a full set of outdoor furniture, and the pool and spa were nice and warm.
We had a private chef come and cook a celebration dinner and the kitchen was very well stocked with cookware and serving pieces. The fancy stove in some pictures has been replaced by a basic stove/oven, but it worked fine. The local property managers were very responsive over text.
The religious decor is an interesting nod to the local mission, but I'd suggest removing crosses from bedrooms. We did notice a few minor things that needed attention, like loose stones by the pool, a missing drain cover in a sink, and a toilet tank cover that was broken and mended. The kitchen could really use a full set of drinking glasses, though there were plenty of cups. One of the bedrooms upstairs is an open room that has been screened off, a proper wall and door would be better.
Overall it was a great option for our group and we'd consider returning.

This property provided a perfect setting for our family to be together for a wedding at Holman Ranch in Carmel Valley. It is spacious, comfortable, well equipped, quiet, beautiful and unique. Dominic our contact was prompt and responsive. The outdoor space is gorgeous with uninterrupted views, a pool and hot tub, even a giant connect 4 game to entertain young guests. Plenty of space to hang out with family members, private rooms, fabulous kitchen for entertaining, quality furnishings, pool towels, blankets, everything we needed. We hope future guests have as wonderful a time as we did. Tina and Joseph

We loved our stay at this property. We were celebrating a co-worker and playing golf through the weekend with several couples enjoying the property. The large kitchen and living room area were great for conversations and group meals after long golf days. The property manager Manuel was prompt with his responses to our questions and needs. The pool was not usable during our stay due to a pump and algae issue, but Manuel made sure we were taken care of. I would recommend checking with the property manager prior a future stay just to confirm everything is working correctly. Overall we were very happy.

We had our group birthday reunion in this large house for a long weekend. The main house has 6 bedrooms with 3 bathrooms. One bathroom is in master bedroom suite and two bathrooms are for the other 5 bedrooms to share. There is a separate cottage with a full suite of bedroom, bathroom and kitchen which we didn’t use. This layout was important for us since we had several couples to accommodate. The house is clean and spacious for us. The front yard has many space to park our cars. We had three cars. It should have no problem to park another three more cars. The host is very nice and prepared us with fully stocked kitchen and nice welcoming gifts. The location of the house is nice and quiet. There is a nice pool and hot tub. The house is fully of nice furniture. We enjoy our staying very much. Thank the host very much. Highly recommended to any 7 couples party. It is very hard to find such a large and nice house.

There were mixed reviews about this home so I debated booking. It turned out to be Fabulous. The communication was good, the house manager was super helpful, house was well stocked and beds amazingly comfortable. It had a great kitchen with everything we needed. Spices. Pans etc. We went in winter so only enjoyed the hot tub but the yard is gorgeous and neighborhood amazing for walking. Loved the house, the location and the rental experience. Highly recommend.

We truly enjoyed our weekend at this home. It worked very well for my men's workshop. When we needed more heat (it was quite cold out) the hosts were "on the spot" to remedy the problem. A venue is only as good as it's support staff and this one was top shelf. Our hired chef found the kitchen perfect to create great food for us. We will definitely be back.

We all so loved this house! Shout out to Manuel who was so helpful. Wonderful home, very comfy beds, very well equipped kitchen to cook our wonderful family meals, fabulous outdoors with pool and hot tub. Beautiful views of the mountains and the stars at night. We couldn’t of asked for a better place to celebrate my husband‘s 70th birthday. We hope to return!

Shout out to the property manager Alex. He met us at the property and went over everything with us. We had been told there was a DVD player at the house. We were showing a special family DVD for our celebration. Alex made sure we had one the next day!!!!!! He was responsive to any issues over the weekend which we so appreciated. It was a memory making family weekend that will be treasured for years to come!!!!!

Great home for family gathering--
We had a wonderful stay here with our family of 10 adults and 5 kiddos for a wedding nearby. Such a wonderful base to explore the wine country and beaches and beautiful Carmel valley. House was clean with thoughtful amenities and quick response to minor problems. Would definitely book again.

We celebrated a milestone birthday weekend with 9 adults. Everyone had a comfortable space to sleep and the common areas (kitchen, living room) were spacious. The highlight was the outdoor space, which was spacious and private, with a beautiful view of the mountains behind us.. The pool was heated when we arrived and the hot tub was functioning week and easy to use. Manuel the house manager was always accessible and very responsive. The house is conveniently located in the village with easy access to stores and small restaurants. We would definitely stay there again!

This place is a bit "funky", with religious symbols and artwork everywhere. Someone in our party swore it was a converted church (it is not). It was not in the best of shape - two of the faucet handles were not attached, one of the showers took a long time to get hot water, then could not be turned down, both of the umbrellas were broken (they were taken away with the promise of being replaced, which they never were), one of the coffee makers didn't work, plaster crumbling around the spa and pool, etc.
There wasn't enough toilet paper or kleenex to last the 5 days we were there. Although it's listed a s accommodating 18 people (including 4 thin mattresses shoved in a closet to be spread out somewhere) the only dining table only sat 8.
On the other hand....The property manager Manuel was very nice and accommodating. The listing said the house had a CD player which it did not. I mentioned it to Manuel and the next morning he delivered a new portable player he went out and purchased. A very nice guy is was eager to please.

This place was amazing! Quiet and relaxing. Beautiful surroundings. It had pretty much everything 13 of us needed for our stay. We've never been in a VRBO that was so well stocked for pots/pans/utensils/dishes, as well as spices. We had been told there were no pool towels or plastic dishes, but found both available when we arrived. Only a few minor issues...we didn't initially receive the code to unlock the guest house; we couldn't find instructions for turning on the hot tub, but we managed to get it figured out; and we weren't given a heads up that Thursday was landscaping day, so some of our peaceful time by the pool was interrupted by mowing and blowing. We were also curious about the architecture of the home and some of the decor--would have loved to find the story about it in the house book. Overall, we had an absolutely fantastic time and we'd definitely stay again!

We loved the property and the pool. We could not figure out how to get hot tub started though. Tried calling Manuel but his voicemail was full. The pool was lovely and warm. Certainly accommodated everyone in our group. The views were spectacular.

We loved the Renaissance property! Our group of 14 (6 adults and 8 children) enjoyed the all tbepropterty has to offer. The kids loved the pool and hot tub. We loved the soa ious kitchen and wildfire grill-everything we needed to orepare large meals. The quaint
Village of Carmel Valley is steps away, but we still felt
Secluded among the beauty of the mountains. The staff at Luxevaca made sure we had everything we needed to make lasting memories. Highly recommend this property!

This house was everything we could have wanted and more. The location was perfect and the house was ideal for our large group. Lots of space, beautiful backyard & a short walk to the town. Unlike other houses we have rented in the past, this house was stocked with cleaning/laundry supplies,towels/blankets even basic kitchen supplies. Our only complaint was, we wish we could have stayed longer.
5.0 / 5.0
Great place to bring a group and have everything you need. House was well stocked with all the essentials plus a couple nice surprises in the kitchen. Beds were comfortable, stockpile of firewood, guest house was a huge plus, rollaway beds, backyard is perfect for hanging out.
The only real negative is the oven.
Still warrants a 5/5.
Management team was very attentive - on it immediately.

I am in love with this this home! Luxerious and spacious, yet so cozy too. The worst part is having to chose between spending time inside or out, because both are so wonderful. Or maybe knowing that I eventually had to leave? We will absolutely be back to this treasure.

We had the most amazing wedding weekend and the facility really helped us realize our vision. The home provided ample room for us and our family. The house has so much character and great amenities. The separate cottage provided the perfect getaway for the bridal party to get ready on the special day of the wedding. The facility provides great views of the valley. We would definitely rent this house again for future vacations.

The Villa was the perfect place to gather with family and close friends to celebrate our special day! The property managers and their assistant were most attentive and more than accommodated our needs. The setting was absolutely beautiful and provided a magical atmosphere for our celebration!

In October of 2021, we (12 men) had a very disappointing stay at this house. The basics are there for a fantastic property (large house, pool, great location), but the place feels neglected, and the description that it sleeps 20 is outlandish, particularly if you expect everyone to sleep comfortably. In fact, since we were 12 men, 7 men were great on either a queen or king bed, but 2 were on couches, 2 on flimsy child sized roll away mattresses and 1 was in a closet on a mattress on the floor.
The management company was slow to respond (one of the two water heaters went out and no one ever showed up to fix it, we didn't get a response when we were trying to find the beds that were described), it was dirty (we had to clean some of the dishes prior to use and pick hair and fake eyelashes out of the hot tub), it was lacking clear instructions for using the amenities (luckily one of the 12 of us had a similar pad to control a hot tub and if you intend to use the pizza oven or fireplaces you should bring wood, kindling and matches) and just seemed unattended to (we had to fill both the pool and hot tub in order for them to be used).
If you are a group that values time in the kitchen, which we are, this was also disappointing. Cheap pots and pans, chipped dinnerware, streaked glasses and an undersized and underperforming replacement stove all were indicative of a cheap vacation rental. When you're paying for a large "luxury" property in Carmel Valley, however, it's all pretty lame.

Only disappointment was ktichen stove, pots and pans.
Would definitely recommend.

Overall the property was perfect for my family. We booked the house to be near my daughter's wedding venue. Initially, we did have problems entering the driveway gate as we were not given the access code in advance. Very frustrating as we could not reach a live person at first and had to sit outside in our car until we finally reached someone who then had to contact the property manager. Reading other reviews, this seems to be a continual problem. The house setup was great and we especially enjoyed the pool and hot tub area. However, we were not able to get the jets to work initially for the hot tub do to a lack of printed instructions at the house. Again, this seems to be a regular issue according to the other reviews. A label by the control panel that tells you what button to press would easily solve this! We also had all adults and we were only 15 people. Since adult children did not want to sleep in the same queen bed as an adult parent we needed to use two of the cots. However, they only came with a bottom sheet. No top sheet or blankets to be found! We were not able to get these until the second day. Very unfortunate considering how much we paid for the house for 4 nights. Once we were able to resolve our issues we thoroughly enjoyed ourselves.

House was in a great location and was everything as advertised. Great, private property, the outdoor space was tremendous and very convenient to area shops, wine tastings and restaurants.

Rented this house for our family when attending our daughter's wedding. It was the perfect size for us and a great location. Just a short walk to all the village shops and wine tasting rooms. The house had plenty of space to spread out. The kitchen was large and easy to cook in. The back patio was pretty much where we stayed. It was so beautiful! Saw wild turkey and deer every day. The property manager was easy to contact and quickly resolved a couple of issues that we had.

9/4/21 My daughter's wedding -joyous and emotional -until a $1000 "NOISE VIOLATION" was slapped on the celebration for having fun outside after 10! Someone in management monitoring us because no one complained. Allegedly we get the $1000 back if no one is persuaded to make complaint in 30 days - nice side hustle.
Bad customer policy. Boo.
