About this cottage rental

Cozy renovated attic loft with 2 bedrooms. Perfect for family with lots of kids and pet. Primary Bedroom has queen bed and twin bed. Private second bedroom has 1 twin and full bed , window, bright and airy with central air conditioning and heat. Beach side of Mandalay Ave, just 5 blocks north of Pier 60. Open French style glass shower, separates twin beds from queen. Romantic and cozy for couple or 5 singles. Vaulted ceilings taper down to 4 feet, so not for tall folks, There is a teaser view of the Gulf of Mexico from the window. Each bedroom has door and lock, window and closet
Finished in all white beaded pine wall and ceilings, distressed white pine floors and Coastal Florida decor. You will feel like your at the beach in the Fun Baywatch Loft.

This is a unique cozy loft with fantastic location and great value.Crank windows open to catch the breeze off the Gulf of Mexico.

Place was really good. Rooms were as described in post. Loved that was on the beach! Plenty of space for a family of 5. Captain Al was responsive and quick to greet us. Overall amenities are good. Many places to eat around that are great. You can walk everywhere! Very safe and this side of town is quiet, which I loved!

Not bad spot. Was hard to find in dark in rain they changed the paint colors from pics. however it was awesome location. Loved water park passes. Use of hot tub grill area was AMAZING so close to beach will stay again!!! Very communicative host low cielings though.

Super cute almost like a doll house. Awesome location. Clean,no bugs. Not recommended for tall people at all. We not super tall but I’m 5 8 and my husband and boys are 5 9 and 6 foot. We did keep hitting our heads on the ceiling because of the slant. I didn’t give it 5 stars because one it says sleeps 6 I don’t think if we had 6 people we would all fit and we almost did.And it’s pet friendly which was why we chose it there is nowhere to walk the dogs. No grass you literally have to go across the street and it’s scary at night by yourself. My suggestion is that they make a designated spot for dogs. Besides that it’s cute and quaint for shorter people, but we did enjoy our stay!!!

The location was great. Right on the beach and Just a 10 min walk to the shops and restaurants and only 20 min walk to the pier. If you don’t need a kitchen the cottage was perfect with 2 rooms and 4 beds and communication was great Captain Al was always quick to respond. Would definitely stay here again.

The old Florida cottage was old Florida. It was clean with history and very friendly property management. I grew up in this area and this is what vacation was before all the resorts cluttered the beach. I mis booked our cottage and the manager met me and fixed it without argument. Close to the beach and far enough from south beach that you had some peaceful time off. Would definitely go back and have already recommended to several friends and family.

Capt. Al was a great host, very helpful! He accurately describes the property. Perfect for families and friends alike. We had 3 different families stay at Capt. Al's, it was nice to have the common area with the hot tub, tiki hut, and grill for gathering.

We stayed here for my daughter’s spring break and had a blast! The place was clean and had everything we needed. Capt Al was right there to greet us when we arrived and was helpful throughout our stay. Highly recommend! We will for sure be back.

The stay was a great time. The location and neighborhood was excellent. It was a one minute walk from the beach. However, it was just very small and hard to move around.

The upstairs loft was small but efficient. There were small fridges in both rooms. The windows open gave a very nice breeze. The hot tub was warm and relaxing

The place was very clean and exactly as advertised. Definitely not for really tall people. But if you are looking for a reasonably priced, well located, comfortable and clean, slightly quirky place, then this is the spot for you. Owner was very responsive and provided everything we needed. I would stay there again.

The place is a attic they say it’s 7 foot ceilings yea in the middle 3 feet on sides the pool is a 15-20 minute walk and it’s a community pool and they say the give u passes lies!!! Everyday they said they would get us some the next day never did we had to pay for passes every time we went swimming the hot tub is junk and only 1 jet works and u have to make a reservation to even use it no one’s there ever All pictures are deceiving and some are not even the place we ended up Okleaving two days early it was the worst trip I’ve ever took to Clearwater

The location of this property is great. Close to the beach, not far from the restaurant scene, but far enough where it is not too loud or crazy since we brought our kids. The room we stayed in was not the cleanest. There was garbage under the beds and the glasses were noticeably not clean. The staff was very friendly and accommodating. 3.5 out of 5

We went to celebrate a friend's birthday and 3/7 of us stayed at this place. It was away from the busier areas (where are friends stayed) which was nice and everything was a short walk away. If you're looking for something more than a place to sleep/relax and shower than may not be for you. Description says NO KITCHEN which i totally understand making sure renters know, but it surprisingly still had 2 small fridges, toaster oven and microwave, which was nice. An abundance amount of places to sleep and Capt Al responded quickly when we had a small issue w the shower. (Which is very small and oddly located but again, does the job) We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would stay again!

Property has amazing potential but has no attention to detail. No frills is an understatement. It was a place to sleep and relax out front but the common area we did not use because of the clutter and lack of comfort. It served it's purpose because of its great location.

We had a wonderful stay at the cottages. Capt Al was very helpful and responded to all questions/concerns. The location is right on the beach. Food and shops are all within walking distance. The cottages are away from the hustle and bustle of the night life, but still close enough, should you want to participate. The area of the cottages is on the quieter end of town. We would definitely stay here again.

Positives: Pet friendly, kid friendly, peaceful and quiet, accommodates up to six people with a queen bed, a full bed, and two twin beds, plus a futon. Queen bed is comfy. Beach access is just around the corner. There's also additional beach access another two blocks in the same direction where you can take your dog. It's about two blocks from the main strip. There are plenty of towels provided for your use. The playground is very very close. Negatives The biggest negative is the layout. There are basically two rooms. In the room with the queen size bed, a futon, and a twin bed, the shower is pretty much in the center of the room. The shower is glass on two sides, although there are some pretty thick hefty curtains hung around it so that you can shower unobserved. However if you are rooming with pranksters, they can easily pull the curtain back and everyone can watch you shower. You will have to dress and undress in the shower unless you want to dress and undress in front of the people who are staying in the room with you. Also, there is no light in the shower so once you close the privacy curtains it gets pretty dark. While the sink and toilet are in a little cubby area with a door, it is also pretty much in the center of the room. The lighting is also challenging because either you all go to bed at the same time or somebody has to sleep with the lights on in each room. There is a lamp by the queen size bed, but otherwise everyone sleeping in the same area has to agree on whether or not the strand of recessed lights are on or off. The futon is not very comfortable for sitting or for sleeping. Most mattresses feel very cheap and hard. Check in was more complicated than expected and of course someone was parked in my spot. Your only recourse if you need anything is to call or text captain Al. This is a loft, so be aware that there are a lot of stairs. Everything outdoors is a common area with other rental properties around. The rug in the second bedroom really needs to be replaced. If you are over 5'5, you will bump your head a lot; expect slanted ceilings in both rooms. There is very little closet space or storage space for your clothing. Expect to live out of your suitcase. There's also no room for any storage in the bathroom. It's just a toilet and a pedestal sink in a little closet. Temperature control is an issue. If you want it any warmer or cooler, you have to text the owner. There's no way for you to adjust it by yourself.

Was a great, laid back stay. No complaints. Captain Al and team were very friendly. Loved that we could use beach equipment. Away from the hustle and bustle of the main beach but close enough to walk to everything.
