About this cabin rental

Close to town, but away from the noise sits Country Charm D, one of the four Country Charm cabins.

This cozy wood cabin has a king bed in the downstairs bedroom and a king bed in the open loft. The downstairs bathroom features a double sink vanity and a walk-in shower. On those chilly nights, or long days spend your time soaking in the cabin's indoor jetted garden tub. The cabin has a fully equipped kitchen, flat screen TVs and WiFi.

The road from the cabin leads right into town to all the shops and restaurants. After a fun filled day of activities in and around town, you can sit and relax on the large front porch while watching the sun go down. Come experience Helen while staying in this cozy country cabin.

This is a pet-friendly cabin and a one-time per-pet fee will be added if you bring your dog(s). The pet fees that will be added to your reservation are $75 + tax for the first and $25 + tax for each additional.

Loved the location. Could have used an extra roll of toilet paper, so we bought some. Also, the couch is very broke down which makes it very uncomfortable to sit in. There is only one other chair besides the couch, so it really should be ready replaced.

Great little cabin not far from downtown. Easy to get to and had the basics of what needed. Longer stays of more than 2 people and plan to make meals may want to bing a few other kitchen items or paper plates/utensils. Dogs loved it and the porch with the gate was awesome.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We are so blessed to stay with GMR when we visit Helen. We had planned to camp at Unicoi but one of our kiddos got sick and with the cold weather we didn’t want to risk him getting sicker. Sherry is always to helpful and she was able to get us into the cabin on the morning we planned to check in after work. We enjoyed the cabin and it was close to downtown which was so nice. We will definitely continue to stay with GMR on all our future trips.

This cabin was just perfect. The location is a super plus! Away from the town but close enough to walk to it. The only thing I would recommend is to replace the sofa since is worn out. But overall is a great cabin.

The accommodations were great as well as the location. The only suggestion would be to replace the couch. You sink down in it, but we were able to help each other out of it. We would definitely stay there again.

There was just an amazing amount of pet hair throughout the house which made it a challenge to stay there. But decided to purchase cleaning products to clean and disinfect the house as well due to the smell. The owner did offer us a refund to relocate but we weren't about to fine one.

Beautiful cabin that allows you to feel “in the woods” while being quite close to town. At the age of 42 and 55 we had no trouble with the easy walk. We loved the peacefulness of the cabin. A great place to relax and getaway for a bit. Helen of course is beautiful as always. We will most definetly stay at this property again!!

Overall it was wonderful and we would definitely stay there again. We were disappointed that the fireplace had electric logs and did not really put out any heat.The management company was VERY responsive. The followed up to ensure I had the door code (which I didn’t as the email went to spam). There was water in the bottom of the refrigerator when we arrived. We reported it and they came right away.The kitchen had sparse furnishings (and cheap) but were adequate.It is walking distance to the “main drag”, but not walking distance to the downtown area where all the bars and restaurants are.Overall, it was as I expected and good value for the money.

Great place to stay! Good location. Wi-Fi was very helpful because otherwise you can’t get calls or text during Octoberfest. There isn’t a bathroom fan so it gets very humid after showers. Also the lighting in the cabin is somewhat dim even with the lamps. Maybe different type of bulbs would help brighten the room. I would definitely stay here again!

The only problem we had was the new “10 digit door lock system”. Locked myself when I put the dogs in the cabin, shut the door so they wouldn’t run back out, got some of our luggage & when I tried opening the door, found out I was LOCKED OUT with dogs inside. Glad I still had my phone on me to locate the email again to get the “10 digit code”. Didn’t feel comfortable enough with that issue to go out the front door & sit to enjoy the view. We did put a piece of paper between the door jam & lock, to keep it from locking us out. Used the back door just to take the dogs out for their business. No “special” door lock....but no key either!

We enjoyed our stay at the cabin. Loved that it was not far from town and could go back to cabin and not have to hear all the happenings in town. Just a few things that need to be addressed, one side of the stair railing is rotten and is about to completely break and only half a roll of toilet paper was in bathroom.

This was a great little find!! I've been coming to Helen for years and never knew this place existed. I stayed with my dog and we had a great time. I had to leave a day earlier due to some personal issues but I'd definitely stay here again with the family.

The cabin was very cozy and comfortable. We had a great time. It was perfectly located, very close to the center of Helen but still in a place that felt like you were “away” and deep in the woods too. It wasn’t a scary drive out anything. The beds were comfortable. All appliances worked. We came to Helen for a birthday trip and a little getaway. It did NOT disappoint!!

Check in process was smooth and property was clean. Only the minimal essentials were provided: 1 kitchen towel (for 4 nights), 2 wash clothes, no extra bed pillows or blankets, small TV I living room (maybe 32"), no hooks for coats, no hangers for clothing, no rugs, and no games/books. We left a day early because rain was in the forecast and there was nothing to do inside. The parking area was muddy and the cabin needs a lot of updating and maintenance. Very disappointed in this property, especially for the price we paid.

Before we arrived, Sherry called to see if we had arrived to give us the check in instructions. She asked to speak to Christy. Caught me off guard because that was my late sister's name. We still had more traveling to do so I took it that she was watching over us. But when we finally arrived at the cabin... it was very much a charming place to stay. Nestled in a quiet and peaceful spot up the mountain. And the perfect location to downtown Helen. The cabin felt like home it was so cozy. We didn't want to leave. Would highly recommend Georgia Mountain Rentals to friends and family.
