This Adirondack luxury home has such a presence on Main steeet many guests refer to it as the "Mansion." Our exclusive Olympic home was owned by three Olympic Gold medalists. We tribute the House to them. When vacationing in Lake placid it is all about comfort, style and LOCATION, LOCATION, LOCATION! This home has it all.
Everyone boasts a 'short walk' to town...but Lake Placid's Olympic House sits 'ON' Main Street of the Lake Placid Village. Nestled within a grove of tall Pines, Birches and Cedar trees, it has a private feeling, yet you are just steps away from the awesome renowned Olympic Village and a stones throw away from beautiful Mirror Lake. The Mansion's Bar/Lounge has a beautiful carved bar, surrounded by a 70 in flat screen TV. The ample over stuffed furniture was designed with comfort in mind so one can relax have a beer, iced tea or just snuggle up and read a book. The adjacent living room houses an authentic brick ADK fireplace ready to light for your enjoyment. The large fully appointed dinning room easily seats 10+ with place setting for 16. The modern kitchen houses brand new dishwasher, refrigerator, stove and microwave, With a breakfast area perfect for morning conversations over coffee. The kitchen has a back stairway that will take you to the second floor bedrooms and one more flight up takes you to the upstairs game room complete with a mini fridge, large flat screen TV, Foosball table and really comfy large leather sofa and love seat. On the same floor, there is a modern, clean full bathroom and more sleeping available with yet another bedroom - number 7 - with two twin pillow top beds.
Outside there is a grand front porch, a 4 burner Weber grill, an outdoor pingpong table, a volley ball net.. and a brand new 6-8 person hot tub! There is something for every one. This historic and beautiful Olympic home features 7 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms, a fully equipped and modern kitchen, a living room with a working fireplace, a dining room that seats 10+, a family room with a foosball table, a downstairs game room with a pingpong table, there are 3 tv's, children's/young adult book collection, puzzles and games galore, comfortable leather sofas, reclining reading chair and views of the Olympic Village Mirror Lake and the Adirondack Mountains including Whiteface.
From the grand front porch, you and your family will have a front row seat to the village of Lake Placid, where you can watch parades, marathons, town events etc. Of course, beautiful Mirror Lake and the ADK High Peak Mountains are directly in front of you for your viewing pleasure.
The 6 bedrooms include 2 kings, 2 queens, 1 full, with 2 twin bunk beds(1 with a full bottom bunk) All of the bedding is a high thread count cotton and all beds have cozy pillow-tops, so you have luxurious and comfortable sleeping accommodations. There are deep closets, extra blankets and pillows in every bedroom. There are fans and air conditioners in every bedroom as well.
The bathrooms are all well equipped with soft plush towels and new showers. For your convenience, there are hair dryers in all of the bathrooms. The original pedestal sinks and faucets have been left for historic appeal, and an original claw foot tub with adapted shower . Brand new toilets and showers have been installed along with tiled floors.
There is a large BBQ grill on the front porch and plenty of outdoor chairs and tables to enjoy warm weather outdoor dinners. Also, there is a one car garage and a large driveway that supplies ample parking for up to 4 vehicles for use during your stay - especially nice during the winter months. During the summer we have 3 bike racks (will hold 4 bikes each) for those cycling enthusiasts.
Per property and casualty Insurance and local zoning and code recommendations - security cameras are above exit doors only. These are in plain sight and can be disabled by the guest request upon check in. There is absolutely no camera or monitoring of any kind inside this home. Please also note, this is a private home and does not offer handicapped accommodations. On our recent trip to the Lake Placid area we stayed at 44 Mercy Rd., Lake property .
We were pleasantly surprised to meet the property owner, who gave us a full tour of the house, and she couldn’t be nicer .
She explained to us everything about the property and the surrounding area and answered all our questions satisfactorily.
She was extremely knowledgeable and helpful in guiding us to make our stay enjoyable .
We did have a few things that we would have like her to improve but overall we had a great experience staying at the property and recommended for someone who like to stay near the lake Placid area for quick access to most attractions.
This charming home is specially great for large groups of people which we had .

I have stayed at this house a few times now and as titled it never disappoints. Great location and plenty of room for everyone. Had some nice weather and really got to enjoy the porch during our stay.

Very nice older home home in walking distance to many downtown Lake Placid attractions. The home is very spacious, and the owner shared the history of the home, which was interesting. Overall, our group was very satisfied with the accommodations, and we will definitely consider staying here again.

Went to Lake Placid for a wedding and needed a house for 13 people. This was a great house in a great location. Beds were comfortable. Ann was quick to respond with any questions.
Check is at 4pm. We had to wait for owner before entering which I never experienced before, but she gave us the history of the house which was interesting. She was 1/2 hr late, but was in contact with me and was apologetic. Also in the description she needs to change the amount of cars that are allowed in the driveway on VRBO. It said room for 6 vehicles, but it was only 4. She did have other places for our cars to park and it was close by (walking distance).

Ann, the owner was wonderful to work with! The only negative is that some of the details on VRBO are incorrect. It lists 16 as max occupancy when it is really 14(14 is listed on the contract). We booked this with the idea that 16 was the max. Fortunately we had two guests that couldn’t make it or it would have been a big issue.

This is the second time we have stayed in one of Ann's homes, and once again, it did not disappoint. The location absolutely cannot be beat! We visited President's Day weekend, when downtown parking is at its worst. The ability to walk everywhere in town was priceless. Watching the pedestrians walk down Main St., with snow falling and Mirror Lake in the distance - all while sitting in the hot tub - was magical. The house is well-stocked and well cared for. We had 9 adults and 5 children (ages 3-8) and were very comfortable. On top of the house being amazing, Ann is a pleasure to rent from. Highly recommend!

We had another great stay at the Mansion. The house has 7 bedrooms and many many different areas to gather or to relax quietly - I including the front porch and the hot tub. The location in the center of town is super-convenient. We’ll be back!

We rented this home for our wedding party to have a get away weekend. The home was beyond our expectations and made the most beautiful backdrop for our murder mystery dinner party. We had a wonderful time and truly enjoyed getting to know the owner of the property. I couldn’t say enough great things about the experience.

I booked this house last January for this 2022 Christmas holiday, and it was for our family; 11 adults and 3 kids. We had an amazing time! The house is big, charming, comfortable, clean, and very beautiful!!! We loved the unique layout, and how each room had such special history and character. The hot tub was a welcomed reprieve after skiing Whiteface! Additionally, the owners were friendly, welcoming, and so helpful with all the questions we had leading up to the trip. I highly recommend booking this house, and I hope to stay again with my family! You will love it! And the location simply cannot be beat!

Wow! What an incredible home and experience! We were in Lake Placid for our wedding, which happened to fall over the same weekend as a CAN/AM hockey tournament. We needed to rent a home close to the Golden Arrow for 12 adults and 1 child. This house was perfect! Ann called us well in advance of the trip, and was quick to communicate when we had questions. She gave us a tour of the property upon arrival, and the beautiful history of the home. The house provided enough space for everyone, which made a busy weekend very comfortable. The beds and linens were phenomenal - the best we have had in any rental home in LP (and we try new homes each season in LP!). You don't get much closer to Main Street, which was very convenient for this trip. We would highly recommend this property for your next visit to the Adirondacks!!

The house is lovely and historic. There was plenty of space for everyone and Anne was very helpful with getting us settled in! The house is right in the middle of town while maintaining privacy. Great place to stay if you have a large group and want to be right in town!

This property was nothing short of amazing. The location, the space, the experience. Everything about it was perfect. We were in town (for the first time) for a friend's wedding, and our house was the cherry on top of what was an amazing weekend. Everything is walkable (legit less than .1 miles away) yet still very quiet & private. I highly recommend this property if you're traveling with a larger group to Lake Placid. Whenever we come back, this will be where we look to stay!

This was the first time in four years we had our family together from around the country. 15 adults and a 1-year-old. The house was ideal! Ann met us at check-in and walked us through the home quickly and was very nice to each family member. Ann lives very close and was very accommodating. The best part of the house is the front porch. Ann even come up with a large folding table for us so we could have dinners each night as an entire family on the porch. We rarely moved a car once we arrived as everything is an easy walk from the house. It is rare these days to be completely satisfied with travel and accommodations, in fact, the airlines were very disruptive for those flying in, but once we were at the house it was perfect. Thanks to Ann and her family.

Beautiful old home situated right in town with a nice yard for the little ones. Gorgeous porch for relaxing and meals and huge formal dining room--great for groups. Linens and towels were perfect and double washer and dryer were great for a group. Plenty of bedroom space and a nice game room upstairs.

This place and host are terrific. The house and family that owns the house has an amazing history in the town. 114 years old if I remember the check in tour correctly. I have stayed many many places in Lake Placid over the last 20 years. This is the best location you can stay. House is super clean. The house overlooks Main st. A very very short 15 second walk out the door and you are on Main Street. Right in the middle of town. Plenty of places to hang out in the house as well as the front porch. Plenty of chairs. Hot tub! Space outside on the lawn. Six car parking. Towels. Sheets. Host is great. Always answers and just overall nice person. We will be back for sure! Love this place.

We were in the area for the Collegiate Ski National Championships and needed a place for 16 people to feel at home. This did the trick. Not only comfortable for our group but they felt at home and therefore were able to perform at their best.
The location is also awesome, right off main street so the skiers could walk around and check out the town.
Our only problem was the extreme weather made getting in and out of the property with our rental vans a challenge but we got it done!

It was like stepping back in ADK time. Beautiful home, beautiful furnishings. Anne was an excellent host. She met us at the hous3 and walked us through. She went the extra mile and call a f4iend of hers to take our large party of ten, from adults to a one year old. We felt right at home for our three day stay.
Even the two teens enjoyed the third floor hide away, which was stunning as well.

Rented house for long weekend to attend my daughters hockey tournament at Herb Brooks arena. Brought friends to ski Whiteface. Such a great weekend!! The location of house can’t get better. Walked everywhere. So perfectly located! The house was huge and able to accommodate all 14 of us with room leftover. So cozy and had everything we needed. Will hope to book again next year !

My extended Family and I stayed in this house over the Christmas holiday.. The house is in an excellent location. It has very easy access to the Main Street in Lake Placid. There is loads of room for a large family group. The house was very well-maintained and very clean. We really enjoyed our trip. The owner was very responsive and very helpful.An added bonus was the availability of a hot tub! I highly recommend this house to anybody considering a trip to Lake Placid either in the summer or winter.
