About this house rental
Cabo San Pedro has been in my family since 1964, and in recent years has been a very cozy vacation home for my Dad, my six siblings and our families. As the highest house on Pedro Point, we are graced with stunningly gorgeous panoramic views (no iPhone required). Perfect for a couple’s weekend, a business trip, or a solo retreat! For those who can’t bear to leave this special place, a fully equipped kitchen lets you comfortably eat in. Other amenities include a flat screen TV in the sitting area, and my Grandma’ s heirloom dining table.
As the highest house on Pedro Point, we are fortunate to have the best views around. We have an electric tram/funicular to carry people and luggage up the hill from the street level parking to the house. There are 12 steps from the driveway to the tram and another 15 steps from the tram to the penthouse, so our place is probably not suitable for anyone with mobility issues. Some of our guests love to skip the tram and take the 180 steps from the street up to the house, it's up to you.
The penthouse is my Dad's favorite place to stay when he's here. It has an open, spacious layout with a full kitchen, sitting area, two dining areas and the sleeping area, plus a large bathroom. Huge picture windows go straight across facing the ocean and wrap around onto both sides giving us the amazingly beautiful views that make our place so well known. Whether you're sitting inside, enjoying a meal at my Grandma Joyce's hexagonal dinner table, lounging on the sofa, or delighting in the large deck, you'll be sure to love the our cosy place and its stellar views.
We're not the Ritz-Carlton, but if you're looking for a great place to stay in Pacifica, you have found it!
We are conveniently located in the laid back surf town beauty of Pacifica, and are just a quick drive into San Francisco and elsewhere in the Bay Area. Sonoma and Napa Valley are less than two hours drive north. It's usually a twenty minute drive to SFO (depending on traffic).
At the bottom of the hill from us is Soul Grind Coffee Roasters, Orange Theory Gym, Humble Sea Brewing Co., Hight Tide Cafe & Creperie, Grocery Outlet, Burger Board, Nor Cal Surf Shop, La Playa Mexican. restaurant, and Ace Hardware.
Across Highway 1, in the Linda Mar Shopping Center, you'll find a Safeway, Starbucks, CVS, Wells Fargo, Ross, and a myriad other little shops worth checking out.
There is a washer/dryer available for guest use on the laundry porch, this is shared with the guests staying in the floor below the penthouse.
The penthouse is great for couples, solo travelers, business people, families with a younger kid or two. The penthouse has a king sized bed, as well as linens for one person to sleep on the couch and one person on the triple-fold futon.

Cozy place with a stunning view. The hosts are very friendly and efficient in communication. We will be back for sure and probably stay longer if the Wi-Fi is up to snuff.

Beautiful locations, amazing views. Two thing it could use are screen doors and umbrella on the deck. The stay was relaxing and serene. Will go back again.

We cannot believe our luck finding this penthouse apartment above Pacifica!
Highlights as follows: Perfect communication from the owners during all aspects of the arrival and through the stay > Most amazing views from inside and from the deck, windows every where > Tram, there is a freaking tram car that fits 4 adults (700lbs) and it saves you from hiking up the many levels of stairs > Kitchen, the kitchen has everything including extra oil, salt, pepper, spices, everything you need except the food to cook > Comfort, very comfortable bed, our kids slept on the fold out futon and couch, we all slept great
We will be returing in 2025!

We had a wonderful experience in the penthouse stay. It was very quiet, had everything we needed, even a fan for white noise (which I like)! We forgot our binoculars, and were regretting it many times, so don't forget yours!! A telescope woukd be fantastic as well for clear nights too. This location is a easy drive to SF, Half Moon Bay (fishing, kayaking, or buy fresh seafood), stores are a short distance away, lots of other places. Or just stay put in Pacifica! It is a wonderful place. Angel and Jay are very responsive when needed. The place is very clean. The view is unlike any other! The trolley makes your stay very easy. We had a friend come for dinner, and they were able to find a spot to park off the side of the road a little way down the street. We will be back! Thank you for sharing your treasured space! ❤️

Nice studio penthouse with amazing ocean views. The kitchen was very well equipped, and it was the perfect place for a weekend getaway. The tram didn't give us any trouble and made it very easy to get up the hill.

This place is all about the view and it does not disappoint. While we had our two sons along with us, the place is really best for a couple or a solo traveler, as it is a studio. We had a great time!

This was our 3rd time staying in the penthouse. That should tell you how enjoyable it is. We highly recommend this property to anyone who is looking for a private coastal nest. We just can't get enough of those foggy days.

We stayed in the penthouse in June of 2021. First, without a doubt, the view from the deck is spectacular. And even including all the fees, the price was reasonable for the area.
The inside of the unit is pretty much just as it is pictured. It’s a little dated, but clean. The bed is comfortable. Plenty of linens, and the kitchen has a good supply of dishes and cooking items. The area shown above the staircase is use for storage for a bunch of odds and ends, which was a little weird. There is a tram that can bring you and/or your luggage up to the top, which works great.
There were two big disappointments for us. First, there is a tremendous amount of old building material, outdoor furniture, ladders, buckets, and general trash everywhere you look. The entire tram ride is a survey of discarded lumber, hoses, wires, etc. And the entry to the penthouse is lined with more trash, tools, and materials. You also get a view into the laundry area, which is another disaster. The general condition of the outside of the property says ‘deferred maintenance’.
The second was the condition of the deck. There is outdoor carpet on that deck that is loose and bunching up, the paint on the rail is peeling in a big way, and just shows a lack of attention. The nice picnic table in the photos is basically unusable as the top is now warped and broken. There is a gutter around the base of the deck to protect the unit below – it is basically completely rotted away.
One small issue – we were not sent check in instructions. When we prompted them, we received them quickly. No further issues – easy after that. Also, an earlier message took days to get a response. Also not a big issue, but worth mentioning.
I hope the property owners step in with some essential repairs soon, and also consider hauling away some of the garbage. We understand that upkeep on a house so near the ocean is a challenge, but you still have to do it.
Still, we do recommend. Try to close your eyes on the journey up to the top. I would like to give it 3.5 stars, but could only pick 3 or 4.

We had a lovely stay at here at Pedro Point. The place had reliable fast internet and comfortable bed and pillows. The whole north side of the studio was open for a beautiful panorama view of the beach, and the deck gave great views of the northern skies. I was glad to have brought my telescope.
It's a trek to the top of the stairs if you have a lot to bring in or are coming and going throughout your stay. The tram was very handy when we arrived but was not working when we left. If you would be dependent on the tram to get yourself or your belongings up to the studio, this might not be for you.

The space was perfect and open with amazing views of Pacifica! Fog was dense so we couldn’t see the bridge but so much more to enjoy.Well located along the hillside, access was very easy. The 120+ steps weren’t a big deal since there was a tram that would lift you to the space. We spent most of the time on the balcony looking out - if we weren’t on the beach!

I will never stay anywhere else! Thanks to Angel and excellent communication. The view is breathtaking!
