About this house rental
Everything old is new again, and it's never been more fun!
Now is your chance to experience this truly unique gem; an intimate chapter of Stowe history located in the heart of the village historic district. Just completed, the original Stowe Village Schoolhouse (b. 1845) has been meticulously renovated to invoke a simpler time while delivering full comfort and convenience to our contemporary guests. This special home offers the very best of old and new, giving you and your loved ones access to this piece of Vermont heritage you won't find elsewhere.
We’re excited to share the results of the exhaustive approach we've taken to balancing both new and carefully restored period details, furnishings, and amenities in this mid-1800's post and beam schoolhouse. We've also added just a few 21st century flourishes to make our guests feel safe, comfortable, and right at home. The primary goal of our two-year renovation was to create an atmosphere of calm sophistication that will invite you to settle in and relax while encouraging family fun and interaction.
Perhaps you'll pick up the parlor guitar or tickle the ivories to make some music in the old-fashioned way that Vermonters used to do to celebrate their connection to one another. Or with your favorite drink in hand, you might just rest your bones in one of the rocking chairs out back on the brand new screened-in porch that overlooks our large yard. There, you can drink in the calm quiet of a cool summer morning with a steaming espresso drink or watch your kids run loose and play on the lawn while dinner is cooking on the grill. We keep a bunch of yard games on hand including corn hole, disc golf, ring toss, and more!
Walk two minutes out the front door to go shopping or grab dinner, or set out on your bike to ride the recreation path. Come wintertime, our home sits poised near the base of Stowe's most popular sledding hill, so you can bring your sled and go have some fun right out of the back door. Later on, you and your kids might enjoy playing a few of our numerous board games and puzzles found upstairs in the game-area.
Since there's more to do in Stowe than one visit will allow, check out our guidebook for a curated selection of some of our favorite Stowe destinations, restaurants, and activities. We've put together a home base for our guests that will provide something for everyone of all ages as you enjoy all that Stowe has to offer.

Our family thoroughly enjoyed staying at this historic schoolhouse that has been meticulously renovated. There were so many special touches that made this home one of our favorite rentals. My musical teenager loved being able to play the piano and guitars. The house was perfectly situated in walking distance to the quaint Stowe Village. We highly recommend this home.

The school house was a fantastic rental for our time in Stowe. Location couldn’t be better. It was very clean, and well appointed. I would describe it as a luxury unique stay. Beds were so comfortable with high end linens. Showers and bathrooms were great, with an excess of plush towels. All finishes are high end, including appliances and lighting. The host thought of everything, plenty of closet space and drawers to unpack, streaming TV, games and instruments for entertainment. We loved having our morning coffee on the screened in porch. With three full bathrooms, it felt like everyone had the privacy they desired. The host was responsive and very helpful. The white curtains are on theme and beautiful, but I would recommend bringing a sleep mask if you are sensitive to light. If this place is available, stop looking at book it!

Simply incredible! Weston and Amy were fantastic communicators, the home was gorgeous, very well stocked, and gorgeously decorated. We especially appreciated the above and beyond effort they took with the beautifully decorated Christmas tree that our children absolutely adored. We come to Stowe every year and this was by far our favorite place thus far. Everything from the bedrooms, bathrooms, kitchen, etc. was just so far beyond expectations and simply divine.

Beautiful and well laid out home. The 4 bedrooms and 3 baths give everyone space and the screened in back porch is a great place to gather. Convenient to everything in Stowe. Highly recommend!!

From toddlers to grandparents - We had an awesome time staying at the old schoolhouse! There’s enough room for the whole family, and the instruments are super fun to explore! We loved walking through the backyard to the playground at the elementary school and the short walk into town and the bike path!

The house was exaclty as described, and as the pictures show. We stayed for our annual ski trip to Stowe and it was the perfect combination. Walking distance to the town, 3 minute drive to the famous Mountain Rd to restaurants, and a 12 minute drive to Stowe Mountain Resort. All amenities in the house are of the best quality. Owners have excellent communication. Would stay again.

We had an absolutely wonderful experience at the School House. The house was exquisite and the location was perfect for meandering around Downtown Stowe. The hosts were easily accessible and were able to quickly answer all of our questions. We hope to visit the School House again one day!

Weston and Amy have a beautiful home, amazing. Right in town and not far from Stowe Mountain. We are all college friends from Plymouth State 1980 who get together every year spending time together and skiing. We could not of asked for a more perfect location and place to stay. The pictures of the house are spot on, excellent accommodations!
Thank you!
