Priestley House is a distinguished nineteenth century town house on the handsome Georgian thoroughfare of Bootham close to York City Walls, Minster and Railway Station. The location is second to none being a few minutes' stroll from York city centre's amenities, museums, galleries and recreational spaces including the riverside and botanical gardens.

A smart entrance gives private access to the maisonette on the upper first and second floors from which cityscape views can be enjoyed towards Bootham Bar and the Minster's central tower, the highest point in York. Newly refurbished throughout in October 2021 its interiors are luxuriously appointed, stylish and very much on trend, blending period and contemporary pieces. Built into the precinct walls of an old Benedictine Abbey, its private balcony provides guests with unbroken south facing views across York Art Gallery, and ‘Edible Wood' in the Museum Gardens.

Comfortably designed for up to six guests the maisonette provides generous living space with a dining table that seats six as well as a breakfast bar for two in the contemporary, fitted kitted. The bedrooms have king or double beds with sumptuous mattresses, all of which are UK manufactured, and the principal bedroom is generously sized with a period features and en suite shower room. There is both a bath tub and shower in the family bathroom.

Apartment extremely clean and has all the essentials to make your stay perfect. Short walk into the centre of York and all the attractions. We had a wonderful break thank you. When we returned to York we will definitely stay here again.

This was the second time that the women in our party had stayed at Priestley house and we had returned with our spouses because of its central location and large living space. York and this property was an excellent meeting point for us coming from different UK cities by train. As before the beds were comfortable and the property met most of our expectations. There were a few things that could be done to make the property even better and we have passed these onto the agents like the need for extra tea towels and towels. If you are reading this and considering renting just be aware that it can be a bit noisy if you like windows open, and the two second bedrooms have little spare space.

We loved our stay. The house was perfect for me and my two friends. Beautiful property with everything we needed and more! We each had our own double bedroom, which is important to us being ladies of a certain age, we like our own space! Very comfortable beds, we all slept so well! Great location, walkable to everywhere we wanted to go. Easy walk to the centre. Supermarket and parking across the street. I would absolutely recommend this house and hope to return again! Extremely helpful communication. Very helpful with a last minute late check out x

Priestly House is very nice with comfy beds and everything you would need but location right on busy road with single glazing makes it near impossible to get any sleep. For this reason I would not stay again.

Stunning views of the York minster, spectacular Cathedral. the museuem gardens are stunning also and both on the doorstep. Will be booking again soon

Really enjoyed our stay in York and this property was exactly as described in description and photos. We felt the hosts were fantastic at contacting us before our stay and making sure we had everything we needed before we arrived and there out of hours contact was peace of mind for us. We would love to return to York and stay here again.

Such a beautiful home within easy walking distance if the town centre. Sainsburys directly opposite, which made everything very easy. Takeaways on the street and two bookshops! Perfect! Parking was easy and free. House was stylish, warm, and clean. Some street noise but that’s to be expected and did not in any way detrimental to our stay. Would recommend.

This house was amazing, it had everything we needed, it was fully private, very spacious. The décor was lovely, so modern! Would absolutely stay here again, the location was great, the handbook in the property was so useful and very informative. The hosts were brilliant, couldn't have actually asked for more. This property was absolutely stunning . The interior was done to such a high, unique standard. It had a very modern, yet extremely homely/cosy feel which you don't often get both. There was a nice little window/balcony area that looked out onto the city walls. It was perfect. There are so many positives to this property and absolutely no negatives. They even provided discounted parking in a nearby car park. Happily stay here again.

Beautiful property, amazing location to the Minster and that side of York. Great set up for a group of friends/family/couples. Double beds in each room with very comfy mattresses!

We were a group of 3 couples and stayed here for our joint anniversaries, there is plenty of space for 6 people and the balcony are has such a stunning view, the property was spotless and very well put together!! The staff were excellent and very accomodating. Would certainly reccomend

A really lovely house which was extremely clean. Be aware though that there are two storeys of quite steep, winding stairs and a lot of traffic noise as it is on a busy road and the house has single glazed wooden windows. Earplugs did the trick! There is a tiny outside space which currently houses a dustbin but would benefit from a small table and chairs for the warmer months.
