The room is very cozy and very clean, my bed is very very comfortable. The location is ideal , I can walk everywhere and there are many good restaurants near by. I will definitely come back

Needs some electrical maintenance.

Our room was in a very tall old house. One of 3 that make up The Halliburton. It was very nice except for the stairs!! We were given a room on the third floor and there were two very steep narrow staircases to climb. If planning on staying there, be aware of this. If you have mobility issues you would not be able to climb these stairs. It is a long way up and down!

Great location. Perfectly clean. Excellent bed. An absolute delight.

Great hotel in excellent location

Did not like the pillows. Also, pigeons and pigeon debris all over outside the window of our room. Not enough accessible outlets in the room. Enjoyed that we could have a drink in the garden or the library provided for a nominal cost by the hotel.

This was a great small boutique hotel
Our room was ideal , had every thing we needed and was so quiet we didn’t hear any noise from any other room at all 👍👍
Comfortable bed
Parking on site was great and reception staff were friendly and helpful
Nice coffee machine in room
Easy walking to the waterfront boardwalk and restaurants

We stayed in room 206 at the front of the hotel and the room was a very comfortable generous size- included a sofa and two chairs. We enjoyed the outdoor courtyard and the included parking was convenient. The only reason it isn't a 4 out of 5 is the overnight street noise. While out of the hotels control of course, both nights we were woken up numerous times by trucks driving over the cross street and there being very loud metallic noises. Neither of us are light sleepers and are accustomed to street noise near hotels but this was very disruptive. You may want to request a room not on the front of the hotel.

Lovely, quaint hotel but very small rooms and a lot of stairs - a consideration when travelling with heavy luggage. Location is great!

My stay at this hotel was rather disappointing, especially considering the $300 per night price tag. The value for money is definitely not there. First, the air conditioning was extremely loud, making it hard to get a good night’s sleep. On top of that, the sheets were dirty, which is unacceptable for a hotel in this price range. Worse still, I noticed mold stains on the bathroom ceiling, a clear sign of poor maintenance. Lastly, it was impossible to watch TV from the bed due to the position of the bed frame, which was really frustrating. Overall, I expected a much better experience for such a high price.

Really wanted to be able to rave about our stay, but there were issues. Great location and love the historical building. Problems we had were with the room - checked in and told the 1 bedroom suite with fireplace we had reserved was being upgraded. Turned out to feel far from the truth.
Instead of a separate bedroom with seating area and fireplace, we were provided with a bedroom with sitting area included, a quite shoddy kitchen area, and a separate 2nd bedroom above, that all we did was look at once and decide that the room was far from an upgrade, and no fireplace. The threat of being charged $50 for asking to change back to the room we had hoped for, had the desired effect to keep us in the room assigned, but was not the situation I was hoping for.
The back deck area is a lovely space after a day of exploring, but be careful as some of the boards have seen better days and we actually crashed through one of them while sitting there. Little concern seemed to be expressed when informed.
All of this is to say that it’s a great location. Parking lot feels a bit iffy, but was totally fine. Check the deck before sitting. And I guess you should ask to be walked and shown your room and hope they will make good with matching the expected room with the reservation in as you are “upgraded”.

The best part was its location! We walked everywhere! It was close to the dock and the restaurants.

Should tell that rooms are 3 floor walkups. Very small bathroom and tight around bed withsloped ceiling and bed side table. Limited breakfast option.

We choose old inns on purpose for the history and atmosphere. Because of building age, we know we will get some quirks, both positive and negative. The three old homes in this boutique inn are beautiful and our room was comfortable and faded elegant. The back courtyard was gorgeous and a great asset! The free parking behind the homes was amazing. But the bathroom was tiny and there are stairs to navigate. A bellman is available to help.

We enjoyed our stay in this elegant townhouse – the room was beautiful. Bed was incredibly comfortable. We could walk right down the street to the harbor and all of the waterfront shops and restaurants – the area just around Halliburton is slightly rundown, but it’s completely safe and near the university.

A fabulous hidden gem that delivers a world-class experience. I will return to this wonderful property again.

We got a room in main building
Parking was a challenge as many have stated but we hat tip helped plan how we checked in.
Room was quite small but bathroom was a decent size
Room was HOT. No air conditioning. There was a fan in closet that helped a bit.
Front desk staff were fabulous.
Overall, a great location for a good price.

I loved this spot. Cute little old fashioned hotel with a small balcony overlooking a water fountain. Parking was included and I could walk easily to everything I needed.

Rooms are pleasant and clean but small (we stayed in a standard queen). No electrical outlets bedside to charge your phone which was annoying. On Saturday night, noise from the music venue nearby kept us awake.

The staff was fantastic , the parking in not suited to pick up trucks. Very limited space to manoeuvre.

It was a charming stay. The room was lovely. We really enjoyed being able to walk anywhere we wanted to go.

It was great, we had an early check-in and we are close to the Halifax pier and all activities.
Staff was friendly parking was available and free and it was overall a great experience

Musty smelling carpets, rooms, bedding. Difficult to breathe at times.
Rats surround the outdoor patio while sitting out trying to enjoy the evening.
Make and model of truck given to front desk upon check in, the only 4x4 truck in the parking area amongst cars and an SUV - small spaces and limited turning. Larger vehicles should have priority parking to fit accordingly in such small areas.
Staff very friendly and accommodating.
We are told we are not the first to complain about the horrible smell throughout the townhouses.

I didn’t expect to be a few doors away from check in, in a townhouse they owned and there was such a strong smell of dampness I found it hard to sleep. The bedroom was huge. It was clean. It was quiet and the location was excellent.

Fantastic location!! Walkable to the Halifax harbour, pier, and farmers market. The staff were lovely, even allowing us to check in early after a red-eye flight so we could catch some rest. The room was very clean. My only recommendation would be to provide a fan or portable air conditioning in the top level floors as the room was stifling hot with no airflow.

A beautifully curated experience
