The hotel was clean, had everything we needed, and was conveniently located. However, the roosters on the property woke us up at 4:00 a.m. and 6:00 a.m., and the surrounding neighbors in other rooms were very loud when they unloaded into their rooms around 11:00 p.m. Were it not for our very poor sleep we would have given a higher score.

Just passing through on the way home. Area was awesome and the hotel was awesome. Great food and drinks.

The rooms are very run down & old. The water drains are slow. Only one ice machine worked & it was on the far side of the complex. The restaurant they advertise is not open (which was a major reason for our picking this hotel). The staff was friendly! There were a lot of chickens & crowing roosters around that were cute. Definitely not worth the price; we will not return.

Stayed there, nostalgically, remembering the place from 9 years ago. Bar and check-in are updated, which was nice, but the room looked old, refrigerator buzzed most of the night, bed felt worn, and the damn chickens/roosters made noise constantly.
In addition, they did away with the nice breakfast for a sub-par continental offering and they added a $2.99 "convenience charge" for paying with a credit card. Do most of their guests pay in cash by the hour???

This is a very nice little place but there is one big problem. There are many roosters on the property and they start crowing at 3:30-4:00 am.

The bed was dirty with hairs in it, and the overall room cleanliness was just average. My checkout time was at 11 a.m., but I was locked out of my room at 9 a.m. I had to go back and forth to the service desk multiple times to get the door key validated until 11 a.m. The breakfast was mediocre, offering only standard options like bagels and muffins, which weren’t fresh and seemed to be leftovers from previous days.

The Inn is under construction. The room was damaged and smelled like mold. Ceiling was stained by a roof leak. The toilet ran and ran. No breakfast as advertised. No food there at all. Roosters making lots of noise early in the morning. Front desk person was in a foul mood.

I suppose to had a king size bed and ended up with a queen

The cleanliness was on point. But they can keep the chicken and roosters all over the premises. Along with the chickens comes the flies!

Nice quiet place to stay central to the city. Best place in the city to stay.

Pool was out of service and that was one of the main reason we chose Merry Acres. The A/C unit in our room was dismal at best. Coffee maker in our room took FOREVER to make one cup and then overflowed. Upon arrival, the ice bucket had melted water in it from previous usage. The complimentary breakfast is basically frozen food that must be microwaved. Nothing freshly made. The television is to small for the size of the room. On a positive note, the water pressure in the shower was perfect. Property definitely needs upgrading!

From the reviews and pictures I was expecting a pretty little inn off that held wedding receptions, etc. The pictures are very misleading. The "Inn" is on a main road, and the rooms are behind the main inn picture in a motor court style. There is a lot of construction going on. The room had a sticky floor and the bathroom tub had at least 2 different layers of peeling paint, a leaking faucet, as well as water damage to the door and surrounding areas. There was no closet door and I could hear the people in the adjacent room. There was not a good seal on the main door to the room so light and air streamed in. The cherry on top was the ROOSTER and other chickens living on the property that woke me up around 5:30 am each morning. The hotel was a stop to break up a trip I had to make from FL to AL, otherwise I would have left after the first night.

When we arrived the office was under construction and it wasn't convenient to register. The pool was also under construction and were not able to use it. There was no prior notice of the construction. The king bed was comfortable but the room was in need of updates. It was also not as clean as you would expect for the price. Two roosters and many chickens roamed the property which didn't bother us but I can see how some people would object. The location was close to a very nice brewery and the Flint River park.

It was nice and quiet for the most part. Doing renovations so things are out of sorts right now. Everyone was very friendly but not much of breakfast to speak of

There was a concert that we didn’t know about; wasn’t prior informed. Parking space was limited; sort of an inconvenience. Go home Saturday night and the lights were out; no lights or air for 4 hours; a big inconvenience!

The service that I received was exceptional. When I got in very, very late to the airport, Jacob and Sean took care of me. Jacob was the friendly voice on the phone when I called from Atlanta to let the hotel know what time I was flying in to Albany and needed to be picked up. Sean was there to pick me up and made sure that I got checked in with Jacob and settled in my room. The room was nice and spacious. The bathroom was clean and the bed was comfortable. However, this hotel stated that it offered breakfast and it really shouldn’t. There was only cereal and frozen waffles and frozen pancakes. No bread for toast. Not even a banana or apple. No protein whatsoever and nothing hot at all. If a hotel states that it has breakfast, especially, one that is on the higher end of room rates, it needs to have, at the very least, scrambled eggs and either sausage or bacon. I was very disappointed and hungry. I could have stayed at one of the cheaper hotels and actually had a decent breakfast.

JD & Chrystal made this road trip stop so much fun for our family!! It was nice to get away from traditional hotels and have the kids experience a manor like this. Great stop with incredible staff!

A safe haven in Albany. Friendly cordial check-in. Clear concise instructions on how to get to the immaculately clean room. The TV remote was easy to use. The on-site chickens were a charming surprise I woke up to a rooster crowing which was definitely a unique experience at a hotel. Don't worry, he's not an early riser. Checkout was fast. I will definitely book here next time.

The room smelled like mildew. Large dog in room beside us barked nonstop until 1am. Plenty of empty rooms should not book people with pets right beside nonpet rooms. Starting at 3am every 5 minutes until 630 am 4 roosters stsrted screaming right outside the rooms. At 415am i called front desk to ask and was told sorry the roosters roost in the trees around parking lot and talk to each other at night ...information that should be in listing it was ridiculous got no sleep at 630 we just packed and went to front desk to complain and leave. All after a 10 hour drive.

Love staying at Merry Acres! Our room was close to the road, but we couldn’t hear the noise.

A very well run, very clean, no frills establishment. Dealing with locals and not a nation wide chain. There is a lot of history in the buildings.

Our stay was decent. We had to go get our card keys re scanned twice because of how sensitive they are which was annoying. It was pretty good besides that.

Pet Friendly.
Nice to be able to park right outside the room door.
More unique hotel vs. the typical chain hotels.

I have to speak up about this motel.
First of all, its a motel, not a hotel. It's advertised as a "boutique-style hotel." Its quite simply not true. Unfortunately, there is nothing "boutique" about it except the room rate.
The rooms barely measure up to a run-of-the-mill, one star motel. There is not one luxury amenity to be found. Anywhere. I tried hard to find one.
The floors are bare without one rug. Bathroom counter is extremely dated. The tub had mildew in spots. I didn't shower in it because of it. There was also little room to move around.
I wipe down everything with clorox wipes due to the covid risk in public places. I rarely see in other rooms, the amount of gunk that accumulated on those wipes. I felt as though we were being exposed to much uncleanliness.
The room did have sufficient towels and pillows. However, neither the towels nor the linens were plush or luxurious.
The window didn’t have blackout curtains. It only had a very inexpensive, rather sheer curtain in the middle. The heavier curtains only covered a quarter of the window, at best. Therefore, the room wasn't dark nor conducive to renewing sleep.
If a motel intends to elevate its stature by calling itself a boutique, it must provide luxury amenities. Welcome basket, soft robes, extreme cleanliness along with those aforementioned issues being resolved, perhaps a concierge, would posture Merry Acres Inn as a true boutique hotel. Good luck!
