We stayed for a night with our 5 year old son. The staff could not have been kinder. We arrived early as we travelled down from Cheshire and they called house keeping to make sure our room was the next to be cleaned. We stayed in a family room which had a lounge area and 2 rooms off the lounge. The room was spacious and clean. The decor is very cosy and the games in the lounge kept our son occupied!

The perfect base for a stay in the New Forest. The whole place has a great ambience, it’s effortlessly stylish with an interesting history. The room was immaculate, bed comfy, nice toiletries and refreshments. The staff were very welcoming and whilst I didn’t eat there, there were plenty of people dining and the bar was great. I would highly recommend.

Really lovely stay at Forest Park for my Birthday! staff couldn’t have been more accommodating and friendly. I would have loved to see hooks in the room (especially bathroom!) for a gown/towel etc and free sockets by the bedsides (without having to unplug radios/lamps). will definitely return!

The plug in our bathroom was closed and wouldn’t open. I mentioned this at Reception and was told that it had been reported by the previous occupant of the room and had been repaired. If it had been repaired why was the plug already firmly closed and impossible to open? Highly unsatisfactory in such a good hotel.

We loved our stay in this quaint hotel. Beautiful area for long walks. Great breakfast buffet. We had dinner in the Pig which we highly recommend. I forgot a clothing item and this was mailed to us by the lovely receptionist.

We loved this hotel, the staff without exception were delightful and very helpful. We enjoyed an excellent breakfast with a great choice of food. We found the hotel to be very clean and comfortable and we liked the English country style of decor. Beautiful gardens and lovely New Forest setting. We highly recommend.

This is lovely property in a very special location surrounded by trees and wildlife with a gorgeous garden. In the evening there is a bar in the garden which is delightful. Dogs seemed most welcome and we will be back to take our dog there for sure.....

Great location in theory but there is a road that is noisy that runs along the front of the hotel. The windows are old sash windows. So not much sleep to be had. All the classic rooms are at the front, so I was informed when I checked in. The room I had was quite dowdy and in need of attention, so I was a little dissapointed given the charge of the room. The staff however were amazing. I did not like that we had to give a time slot for breakfast on arrival. I have not been to any hotel of that price and ever been asked to do that. I was informed that it was so the kitchen could cope. I would suggest more staff are needed if this is the case. This hotel certainly wasn't for me.

We didn’t stay as our room was so ugly for a deluxe double and nothing like any of the photos. We left and booked an alternative hotel not far away that was much better. We took a financial hit but it was worth it for a memorable anniversary stay

We've been here on numerous occasions and have always had a good stay. The only slight issue is that there is no aircon and if it had been any warmer the nights would have been a bit uncomfortable. On the plus side the food is always excellent.

This is our 3rd stay at this lovely hotel but unfortunately this was not so good the food was not up to standard, I could not eat my lamb as it was very tough. The staff dealt with this very well but I remained very disappointed.

My bedroom was small and an interior, windowless bathroom made it rather airless and cramped. The room was very clean and had thoughtful homely touches. Most of the staff were polite and pleasant and the property is beautifully located within the New Forest

Lovely hotel and room was lovely and clean and comfortable, yet the hotel itself could do with a good dust as the picture frames on the stairs etc looked quite dusty. 70% of the staff were very friendly and helpful however 30% were a bit robotic, however the service itself was very good.

Very nice location and pretty hotel. Room was clean and had all the necessary facilities. Bed was a little hard though. Breakfast was included but a disappointment as the eggs weren’t cooked fresh and the sausage was not great. Staff were good despite being busy looking after a large group

Superior Room. Felt more like a standard room, bathroom was small and the door opened directly onto the toilet. We were only given half a roll of toilet roll. We requested gluten free evening meal options but something was clearly not gluten free because shortly after arriving in the room husband was really ill. Mentioned this at reception didn’t seem that bothered. Wouldn’t stay again as we have stayed in a lot better for much less. Overpriced

Beautiful location, a very well-maintained building with cherished history. Facilities renovated and in good modernized condition. Very good food. Very nice area around the property (you can spend time on an adjacent lawn or go for a long walk in a forest and field just on the other side of the road. Great long-weekend stay, highly recommended

The hotel was in a good situation and the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The food was a very high standard and we enjoyed some very good breakfasts and a very nice evening meal. It was a characterful hotel and we were very comfortable. Highly recommended.
