Our stay at Bishopstrow Hotel was delightful! Dinner was delicious, and we loved the flavors and presentation. The junior suite was spacious and comfortable, though it could use a bit more natural light. The pool and jacuzzi were a fantastic addition to our stay, making it easy to relax. We also enjoyed the beautiful hikes around the hotel, which gave us a chance to explore the lovely surroundings. A highlight was the fresh eggs and milk we got nearby—they were simply fantastic. All in all, a wonderful stay with a great mix of comfort, relaxation, and nature!

Fabulous hotel with a friendly spa facility integrated into the hotel's offer. Great to have an outdoor pool and plenty of spaces inside and outside to enjoy. The manor itself is grand and luxurious. The Garden Grill served an excellent dinner with good wines available and staff couldn't be more helpful. Only down side was there was no hot water during one afternoon - but the hotel gave me a £50 discount off the bill as compensation which was unexpected and appreciated.

Stayed in a cosy room for 2 nights, spacious & comfy had enough storage etc. there are no modern usb sockets. Staff all friendly & helpful; breakfast waiter service & very good quality. Grounds are extensive, we walked in the kitchen garden. Parking was easy outside. The spa facilities need an upgrade as seem a bit past their best (we did use the pool & jacuzzi indoors).

Lovely hotel, great staff, gorgeous individually decorated room, and amazing pools/ spa! My only issue was that i have coeliac disease and got contaminated by eating fries at lunch as although the menu said they were gluten free, they apparently didnt have a seperate fryer i found out in retrospect...so i felt awful all afternoon.

Great hotel with amazing surroundings and excellent customer service. The outdoor and indoor swimming pool were great and very relaxing environment even with our kid. The restaurant evening food and breakfast were excellent. The Roomy room was very spacious and comfortable. Will definitely be visiting again.

We had a lovely stay. The staff were all really friendly. The room itself was quite warm, but we had been provided with a standing fan, which made a huge difference. The little things, like having a daily news sheet put under the door, and having a mini fridge with water and fresh milk every day, made the stay very special. The spa and pools were lovely. We did not have dinner in the restaurant, but the breakfast each morning was exceptional. Overall, a wonderful stay in a truly beautiful hotel.

The luxury suite was absolutely stunning (outside bath was the highlight for me) the attention to detail is outstanding.. the little extras you get goes above expectations.
As soon as we arrived staff were very welcoming and friendly. And the food in the restaurant is up there with some of the best meals we have ever had. Our only regret is that we didn’t book to stay longer! We have stayed in many luxury hotels and this is by far the best I have ever been to!

We stayed here for a special occasion, but we did not feel that it was made particularly special.
The room was lovely at first glance (room 25) but it was extremely and uncomfortably hot. There was a fan provided, but given the price paid for the room I don’t think this is a very appropriate solution. We had a very long day and wanted to chill in the room, order room service and watch a film. But it was just too hot to feel comfortable. Our sleep was awful.
The pool was fine, but very run down.
Breakfast was also just fine.
For £400 a night I would expect a lot more. Very disappointing.

Can’t fault it

Such a wonderful stay. The staff were very friendly and attentive, couldn’t do enough for us. The room was beautiful, the in bathroom stream room was a fantastic addition.

This was a dog friendly weekend stay to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Started with being shown to our room, or I should say suite which was excellent for us and our little dog. We had our own access to outdoor space although our patio area was the only one not linked to the main pathway in the enclosed courtyard.
Our stay began with afternoon tea upon arrival which was scrumptious, I can see why non guests delight in it. The following morning began with the hearty Bish Bash Bosh breakfast which set us up for a lovely walk taking in all the grounds of the hotel and surrounding area of Bishopstrow. I then headed to the spa whilst hubby and our fur baby relaxed watching rugby.
Our evening was completed with a fabulous meal served in one of the few lounges.
It was hard to find fault with anything, staff were very attentive with nothing being too much trouble. Yes, there is building work taking place but this didn’t distract from our visit.
If back in the area we will definitely revisit.

Enjoyable stay. Very suitable as a centre for touring. Room accommodation excellent but final flight of stairs were a bit of a trial for those with knee problems.
Superb breakfast meals, set you up for the day.

Stayed here as a stopover on the way home from London. It's a beautifully appointed hotel, so much so that I don't think we noticed so much as a worn carpet or a patch of grubby paintwork. Excellent service from everyone we spoke to. Had a very tasty meal in the lounge bar. Lovely jacuzzi. Room spotless, and very comfortable. We'll happily go back.

A very pleasant stay at this hotel. All of the staff were eager to ensure we had a good stay and nothing was too much trouble. Room was a good size and beds very comfortable.
Pools, indoor and outdoor were of a good size plus indoor and outdoor Jacuzzis. Reasonable size steam room and sauna.
No complaints at all but a few observations. The stairs from the loft area to the first floor are steep and quite narrow. Lighting was not good and together with a dark carpet made it quite difficult to see the stair treads. There was a good size wet shower area in our room plus a bath. When hair conditioner was used in the shower area the floor tiles became quite slippery. Consideration might be given to providing some kind of grab handle.
Dinner in the restaurant was very good especially the lamb shoulder with a delicious sauce. We would have eaten there every night but for the quite restrictive items on the menu. Whilst I understand the need to avoid food wastage with only a fish course and soup changing each day, we felt the menu was quite repetitive. The number of main course items could stay the same with perhaps a bigger rotation of items on offer.
overall, we really enjoyed thios break.

We spent a night at the The Bishopstrow Hotel & Spa which we thoroughly enjoyed.
Our room/suite in the Courtyard was lovely, spacious and with its own small garden and private hot-tub. The standard of décor was excellent, and the room and bathroom very clean and well maintained. A few quirks worth noting; no in-room safe or minibar; and no air-conditioning, although a fan was provided (we stayed in the hottest August in the UK on record and didn’t need to use the fan so not sure the lack of air-conditioning is a major issue).
The hotel is an old country house so lots of interesting features and rooms. The Spa is part of the hotel and worth a mention. There is a very well-equipped gym – best equipment I’ve seen in any hotel – and heated indoor and outdoor pools, and hot-tub. The grounds are fine, without being spectacular and there are plenty of loungers if the weather is good and you want to sunbathe. There are also a steam room and sauna, and one of the most epic shower rooms I’ve come across – loved the ‘tropical storm’ shower setting. There is a full range of treatments and my partner had a very good massage.
We ate in the restaurant after cocktails on the terrace. The food was good although I’d not rate it as ‘haute-cuisine’ dining.
The staff were very helpful.
All-in-all we had a great time and it is a good place for a relaxing short break, especially given its proximity to Longleat and Stourhead.

Booked a suite which was sizeable, but decor was a tired, sofa in lounge could do with a good clean and plastic milk is simply not a good thing at anytime.
Looking on to the delivery area which means lorries park outside your window from early morning, so a long lie in is not on the cards. Lucky it has two pools for an early dip then, unfortunately the Outside Pool area was full of coffee cups from the night before and the pool itself full of leaves. With the number of staff wandering around from early morning you would expect the pool to be clean.
Can’t fault the food in the restaurant or the service, which was as you would expect.
The suite we were in certainly needs a step change to justify the £350 night price.
Overlooked at the rear and to the front you feel on show unless you pull all the curtains and sit in the dark.

Loft room was unbearably hot. Even with window open all night, the room didn’t fall below 28c. Get a mobile AC unit!!
Staff were patchy - some looked like they did not want to be there.
Not at the level one would expect of a 4 star hotel.
