Amazing Tudor Castle with gorgeous gardens and architecture. The room was sumptuous, the food and service were fantastic. My only regret is that we couldn't stay longer!

Bucket list wish for my daughter who loves history, unfortunately only here one night but we made the most of it. Explored the castle and gardens even in the rain. Breakfast was exceptional.

We throughly enjoyed our stay. The grounds are lovely, the staff is so welcoming and helpful. The rooms are exquisite, comfortable and beautiful. The food and drinks were superb. This castle was really well preserved and restored.

We paid almost $1000 for 2 nights and received a very small room with small bathroom and no counter space. The room was pretty but still very small. There was a bug in the bathroom once. The worst was that it was extremely hot in the room to the point we could not sleep and were sweating in the room. It was over 80 F in the room. We spoke to hotel staff who were polite but did not do anything nor offer any partial refund. Hotels.com also did nothing. Luxury price but not a luxury experience at all

This place is amazing! We stayed here as a couple for 4 nights in May. We were given a conplimentary room upgrade because we were celebrating a special occasion, and we were able to add an extra night into our stay abd stay in the same room. We absolutely fell in love with the place. We were only supposed to stay for 3 nights, but added on an extra night and the staff kindly arranged it so that we could stay in the same room. The rooms are absolutely huge! We stayed in a superior deluxe room and it was 45msq! The room was beautifully and elegantly decorated and the bathroom had both a shower and a bath, plus his and hers sinks. The hotel and grounds are stunning and well looked after. The staff are professional and polite. This place is perfect for a romantic stay for couples. Not much to do in the immediate surrounding areas, apart from some country walking. However, the place is less than an hours drive from both Bath and Bristol. My only one fault from the entire stay is that the room didnt have a coffee machine. I think thats a must in 2024. I'd definitely stay here again. Keen to stay in the Henry VIII suite!

Absolutely loved our stay here. The grounds and the rooms were so beautiful and the staff were very welcoming and accommodating. We got engaged here and it was so special I can't imagine it happening at a more beautiful place. Thornbury holds such a special place in our hearts now and I'm so grateful it happened there. Thank you to everyone at Thornbury who made our day and our stay so special!

A wonderful stay in the King Henry VIII suite where modern conveniences melded with historical value. We enjoyed exploring the grounds, gardens, and a church that is adjacent to the castle. Our evening was finished with a delightful dinner in the castle.

This was the most exquisite place we have ever stayed in. Everything was picture book perfect- and we were treated like royalty! Be sure to go into the castle garden and smell the rose named “Golden Celebration.” It has the best scent ever and was a fitting reminder of our golden anniversary! We highly recommend the history tour for an even richer experience!

Can’t even put into words how amazing this was! Way more than expected. What an experience! The staff was lovely! Everyone of them were just so wonderful. Found Thornbury Castle online and just on a whim booked. So glad I did! My niece and family live in Bristol & this was their first time even knowing about it. They’re blown away as well & Ill bet they’ll come back & tell friends!

Amazing building, gardens and history. Lovely staff. Food great, but portions small. The singular for ravioli is raviolo, so I would suggest taking something for a midnight snack, you may need it.

We absolutely loved our stay at Thornbury! It was such a beautiful hotel and felt like a magical escape. We made sure to have tea and dinner in the castle which was lovely. We will definitely come back again!

Grounds and buildings were beautiful. All you could expect marrying old and new. Actual rooms transported you back in time but with modern amenities that did not detract at all. Fulfilled a dream of mine and my son’s to stay in a castle. Staff were professional and welcoming. We had tea service which was done well. We are tea lovers and do tea service often back in the States. Dinner was phenomenal!! The dishes were 5 star Michelin and taste was out of this world. Drinks were also hand crafted and unique. All in all great overnight stay. Worth every penny for the experience delivered. Would return again.
