Very close to downtown and to the locks. Disappointed that the bar was not open.

The hotel uses Spectrum Cable for their TV provider. Several channels would not work. It happened to be a Saturday and most channels that carried college football games were on the list of those that would not work. The gal at the front desk came to our room to try and fix the problem to no avail. She was pleasant and expressed that the company needs to provide more training to fix such problems. Other than that, the stay was pleasant and comfortable.

We stayed here because the room slept 6 and we had 5. I was excited to find a place that didn’t require 2 rooms. However, our beds only had sheets, no blankets. The pullout bed was broken, but they did offer us a rollaway (still yet to be seen if we’re charged for it). The staff was far from professional; too busy gossiping and poking fun at each other to check us in. Too busy staring to say good morning back when we came down for the breakfast. (Prepackaged muffins and danishes had that slimy wet glaze on them from being old.) the bagels were fresh though! The workout room was under renovations and I been looking forward to getting a run in with the colder weather. We stayed 2 nights at at 7:30 the second night, we came back from a long hike where we all needed to use the bathroom, so a 4 of the 5 of is went to the lobby bathrooms where we were yelled at for walking on the freshly mopped floors. (Remember, it’s 7:30 when a lot of guests are coming and going). There is also something triggering to the respiratory system as we all woke up congested both mornings. Overall, great location, room size is nice, great parking, but they need to work on their staffing, breakfast options and make some repairs.

Excellent! Quick booking, comfortable room, wifi worked great, room included sofa, wonderful outside area, and good breakfast.

Old hotel located across the street from the locks and good restaurants. That’s the positive attributes.
The first room we were given had a stained and dirty couch which I complained about.

We enjoyed our stay and everything was within walking distance.

Nice stay, great location. Hotel could use some updating. No decaf coffee. Simple breakfast of packaged danish and muffins. Bagels and yogurt. Not enough blankets on our beds. But our room was clean and cheerful with big windows looking out over the street. Close to many restaurants and next to the Locks.

We enjoyed our stay. Its an old historical hotel so dont expect the Ritz-Carlton. Nice property. Located right next to the Soo Locks. Nice play to stay in downtown.

Lobby was beautiful, but thats about it. Rooms were very dated. Honestly furniture was from 30 years ago. Couch had cigarette burns and stains. Screw holes in the room walls that were kinda patched but never finished. Bathroon was gross and smelt of mildew.

Good things: good location, reasonable price, one employee was very helpful but had questionable assistance from others. Negative items: carpet not clean in rooms, one bedside lamp did not work, had no clean towels to hand out on day we did not get cleaning service, free breakfast had no hot or protein items available. Would not stay there again.

The hotel was clean and conveniently located for the places we visited. I loved our 1 night stay. The problem came after. I unfortunately left 2 necklaces on the nightstandwhen we left. My family and I were over an hour away at our next stop on our vacation when I realized I forgot the necklaces. I called the hotel. I wish I could remember the name of the woman I spoke with she took my number and called me back right away to let me know that housekeeping had found my necklaces. I asked if they could be mailed to my home and was told the necklaces would be left for the day manager to be mailed to me. This was Sunday July 21st. I have yet to receive my necklaces. I gave all my information and told her I was more than happy to pay for shipping myself. 1 of the necklaces is a costume piece belonging to my 11 yr old son. A red and clear crystal on a black string. The other necklace has a small brass teddybear pendant containing my dad's ashes on a black string. If I had been told they were not going to mail them to me I would have added the extra hour to the drive home to go back to Sault Ste Marie to retrieve the necklaces on Tuesday July 23rd. Instead, I trusted that the necklaces would be mailed as promised and drove back home to a suburb of Detroit. I called the hotel again yesterday July 29th and got voicemail. I left a message and have not heard back. I will be driving the 5 plus hours back to Sault Ste Marie this Friday to speak to the satff

Location was wonderful and the property is a great throwback and seems nicely maintained. Room was very spacious, I stayed in a king bed suite.

Great location, property has some historic value. Parking lot gets very full and was hard to park a bigger vehicle. Hotel is outdated, but clean.

We love this place! It has a great central location at the major intersection in town. We walked everywhere, and I ran in the mornings along the soo locks park. Very walkable and beautiful parks nearby for walks. The room was generous, the bed and pillows very comfortable (one side slightly squeaky) shower great and lots of outlets. Loved opening the windows at night!!
So grateful we could bring our dog too. The staff was ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!
The only thing that could be improved is the morning free breakfast, which is basically bagels and muffins… with a little yogurt and fruit. It’d be nice to offer something a little more substantial, but realize you don’t have a kitchen. Perhaps consider contracting with a local eatery…? Long term: bring back restaurant and pecan crusted white fish!!!
We’ll be back again for sure. Thank you for everything!

Our trip was designed around the Soo Locks. So to be able to walk to the locks was the an utmost convenience! The room was clean, well taken care of. The Desk Clerk when we arrived on Monday was very pleasant and helpful. Would definitely stay here again.

This hotel is not kept up, the couches and carpet have stains all over them. There was hair on the floor as though it wasn't swept. Pool is closed for good (according to them), no restaurant or outdoor area. Breakfast is minimal. If you stay here make sure you watch the account that you use because we were charged for the room by hotels.com and then the hotel turned around and charged us also. When I asked why they charged me again she told me that its not a charge if its pending, yet the money came out of my account. She then called police and had us kicked out of the hotel for questioning my bill. My friend got charged close to $1700 for a $600 room. Google this hotel before you stay because they have a history of embezzlement. The only good thing about it is the location.

The hotel is in an excellent location and we enjoyed that very much. The beds were not comfortable and we did not have a choice of queen size beds. Double bed was too small.

Enjoy our trip, hotel, and staff my only issue was our air conditioner did not work until the night before we left. Your website said there is a pool, there is no pool and bar is only open on Saturday nights also stated a restaurant and no restaurant I suggest you update this information

Adorable, quaint early 1900’s boutique hotel. Right next to the Soo Locks park. Our room overlooked the park. Right on the Main Street in the heart of everything. Many dinning options within walking distance. Clean and comfortable.

An excellent location for when traveling up to the Soo.

Our favorite place to stay in the Soo! Always get a jacuzzi suite! Gorgeous views of downtown and right next to the locks.

It was close to the Soo Locks and my room view to the Locks was excellent.

I love an older historical hotel and appreciate that there will be some areas that need work. However, seeing apparent water damage from ceiling to floor around a window that was literally painted over without fixing is telling me the owners don’t care. Whoever painted it could see the damage but the owner is responsible.
The carpets appeared to not be vacuumed, with debris all over the floor. The grout in the bathroom was falling out and pieces all over the counter and shower and floor.
And do not tempt me with a good time by having a sign that says Margarita May $5 and not have the bar open the entire time we were there!!
Positives: the reception person was super friendly and very helpful and was eager to resolve any issues we may find, before we even went to the room.
The location is perfect, right on the main drag, with lots of shopping and dining right there.
