A bit cheapies with no wifi on the room dough

OK. Only had luke warm water for a shower.

it was awful staff were rude and the rooms were not the cleanest

Highly officious and deeply unfriendly check-in. I should have left at that point. It's more like trying to get into a nightclub than being welcomed into a hotel. Hideous experience. An unnecessary ID process was happening next to me with a party of five respectable women attempting to check in. One had forgotten her ID and was being made to jump through ridiculous hoops when she had credit cards with her and other items that made it perfectly clear who she was. Remember your photo ID.
Room on the 5th floor. Lifts great. It has a very splendid staircase. I paid a low rate for the room but that doesn't justify the terrible accommodation. Bathroom fine. Bed ok. Pillow terrible, like trying to sleep on a rugby ball. The window is very high, not in good condition. Self-checkout, no goodbye, no one gave a damn—hideous experience. I'm in Manchester again next week and will avoid it like the plague and book somewhere else.

Very nice stay. Staff very helpful.

Very good and clean room!!

The worst 55 pound I ever spend in UK. Practically the bare minimum in the so called hotel. Even a tiny easy hotel is superior in service. Please don’t stay in this hotel for whatsoever.

Arrived early at Britannia Hotel and they kindly allowed me to check in ahead of time. The room was spacious, clean, and very comfortable. Great experience overall!

The hotel looks impressive on arrival but rooms are tired. We had issues with the room next door who returned at 4am and started banging on the wall and shouting. Despite contacting the night concierge this wasn’t dealt with and my husband had to get out of bed at 5am and go down to reception to ask for support again. When this was mentioned on check out there was no apologies or appropriate customer service
3.1
Bad experience. To put it simple, that’s why the rooms are cheap!

Awfull, impossible to Sleep! Old and outdated

It was so-so. It was a nice historical building and that comes with certain expectations. There was some damage and floors were uneven. I wouldn't call it great but i wouldn't say awful either.
3.1
The stay was great close to the city centre, my only problem was the Wifi should be included in the price in the rooms. Other than that everything was good.
3.1
Spacious but basic twin room in the faded grandeur of the Britannia. Comfy beds and hot shower. Mostly quiet in the night expect when neighbours slammed their doors. We were cosy and had room to spread out, Plenty of space for our luggage and hangers for clothes
No mirror in room + no plug in bathroom makes hair styling tricky! Rooms need renovating and there's barely any phone reception - and WiFi isn't free.

Helt fint ophold, ingen problemer at indberette

Quite pricey for a room with no window, it was very warm in the room and the bathroom was just very basic and tired.
Breakfast was decent but I personally wouldn’t stay there again.

Booked this hotel for my husbands birthday. We were really looking forward to a night away as a family with 3 children we do not get out much. I booked a suite and on arrival we had what seemed to be a family room with lots of beds in. I asked reception if this was right to be told that's all you get and if you don't like it then email this and got given an email. I left it at that and continued my night. Upon returning to the hotel after going to see Peter Kay we returned at 11pm. They had security on the door and I was asked "do you have your key card" I said yes thinking they were just checking we had it and carried on walking to my room where 2 men stopped me saying I need to tell them my room number and name. This was very intimidating and I felt like I was being interrogated while other guests of the hotel could freely just walk in. I was alone at this point also as my husband was over the road at the shop. No one stopped him when he came in. I would not recommend this hotel to anyone. I haven't even completed my stay and dread to think what checkout will be like.

Booked a small room in error, tried to upgrade. Was told hotel was full even though website showed availability.

Not a bad budget hotel and nothing more. Great for passing through!

Being a cash-free premises, everything is charged to your credit card. The staff were very friendly and helpful. The heating in our room didn't work so they gave us a portable radiator which heated up the room perfectly. We quickly ran out of tea and coffee but the refills were free and on demand. Worth three stars definitely.

Old hotel but good, clean and comfy rooms

Good one night stopover

I arrived at the hotel slightly earlier than my check in time so left my luggage in storage and explained I would be back around 10pm to check in.
On my return I was told that my room had been cancelled because no prepayment had been made and attempted payment from my card had been declined. No email, phonecall or consulatation..... just straight cancelled the room. Unlucky
'Thankfully' there was 1 room still available in the hotel which I was able to book which was not dissimilar to a prison cell, and avoid sleeping on the street

Upon arriving at the hotel, we couldn’t even check in without being spoken to by security. When we told him that we wished to check in, he proceeded to allow us into the reception, slightly overdramatic if you ask me. When we returned to come back to our room from our evening out, we were asked for our room numbers at the front door before being allowed re entry to the hotel and security were ticking off our names from a list like we were cattle at a farm. It makes me think that they are hiding the Crown Jewels in the basement, otherwise why is this level of security necessary. Apart from the security, when we entered the room we found towels in the bathroom that you could use to sand down wood, and the water pressure was like a baby’s dribble. There was also a breeze coming through the closed window which was covered in bird excrement, Kim Woodburn would not have been amused. All in all, if you’re only going for one evening and can deal with airport style security to check in and re enter the hotel, this may be a suitable choice for you.

no wifi in all rooms, no room service, no window room like hospital room for over GBP120. no amenities. taking too long to chech-in. beautiful interior and clean but rooms are super small.

Utterly grim- don’t go there!

At check in i was asked for photo id i failed to notice this as part of a booking i have never been asked for photo id in the UK ever before at check in.
I do not have a driving licence and do not carry a passport in the UK where i live.
Lucky my travelling friend had photo id,
The following morning having a shower found no towels in the room, the beds where also small not a great stay and will not be staying at this property again.

Only Wi-Fi in the hotel lobby. If you wanted WiFi in your room you had pay for it. Unheard of. Even hotels in Bangkok that I’ve stayed at offer WiFi I the room. I took the number 1 free bus from Piccadilly station and it dropped me close to the hotel. When I checked out I asked the concierge in the foyer where do I pick up the bus to take me back to Piccadilly Station. He had no idea. He said go to the bus where I arrived the previous day. That would have taken me all around Manchester before arriving at Piccadilly station. A concierge should know everything that a tourist would ask of him. That’s the job of a concierge. He really needs to do a better job.

Single room but with everything you needed. Comfy bed, bright corner room with two windows and ground floor but still quiet. Slept well

Sadely we have to pay for the wifi. Bed are not the top, shower is great 👍

Ideal location for conference locally

Hotel was nice when you walk in and the check in and out was quick. Room was basic but good enough to get your head down after watching a match a Man City. Breakfast was also fine with a decent choice. overall it’s good enough for the football.

Was not impressed as I didn't have photo I'd on me as I never carry it around. I haven't ever been asked for I'd to stay in my booked and paid for hotel room but this place made a big deal of it lieing about fire safety. They weren't going to help me without a photo I'd. Had to find a 20 year old passport photo.

Overall Everything was good and I enjoyed all that I wanted and I will definitely returned.

Very pleasantly surprised, was half expecting a run down place living on past glories and needing some TLC, but it is still quite a grand place, and only minutes from Piccadilly Gardens in the heart of Manchester. Very good value for the price.

The hotel is lovely, but the rooms are a little tired. Frayed carpets around the doors
