Hotel is under construction so many amenities are not available. Price should have been reduced due to the condition of the hotel. Our lake view room had scaffolding and a tarp covering the window. Courtyard was empty due to construction. Had to walk through construction area to get to the pool. Paid too much for this experience.

Great place to stay for families. They are currently doing construction but it didn’t affect us too much!

It was an amazing experience. I would recommend it for any family.

Club level was Terrible!!
Poor level of food!!

I called in advance as soon as I learned that the property was under construction. I was assured that this was almost finished and would not effect our stay with bay view windows. I booked two king rooms with bay view windows. They were not ready until around 4:30PM. Our bay windows provided a beautiful view of construction scaffolds. I was told that fast passes for the hotel stay would work for Halloween Horror night. They did not. I talked to the manager and she refused to give us any credit for the stay based on the misleading information we received. It was disappointing.

The property was under construction and there was no warning of this at booking time nor any discounts for the discomfort. Last time here.

Excellent hotel. Breakfast option in club room less varied than before and no hot meat option, which would have been available during our previous stays in club rooms in the hotel. Renovations on-going but being done sensitively and had little impact on enjoyment of stay.

Portofino has some construction going on, but the area was very clean and the beach pool is wonderful.

Great food, they should include breakfast

Besides the construction that was going on we had a wonderful stay. The food at the onsite restaurants was high, recommend walking off property to other restaurants.

Stayed in the Minions suite. Ground floor room. Very large rooms. With the kids beds big enough for an adult.
Hotel is getting work done. So half of the betel is covered in scaffolding. But it didn’t affect our room in the East wing.
Only down side was the food & drink price. We just fancied a light meal after being in the parks. The quick serve deli $35 for a standard size pizza. And wanting to charge $7.50 for water in your room.

The hotel is a building site with construction noise from early morning until 5pm. Please do not waste your money here, service equally appalling and despite my complaints they really do not care offering to refund my parking as compensation for a $5K booking! Absolutely appalling customer service.
This was our 5th visit and will never stay at a Loews property again.

The outside work only affected us minimally until the last day when I was trying to watch tv and they were on a scaffold right outside my window making all kinds of noise.

This Resort was more like a regular hotel. I would recommend not staying until construction is done. The Hard Rock Resort is a better fit if you have teens. The building seemed old and carpets were worn and old as well. However, it was a nice place to come back to after a day at other resorts and Park Days.

Not a good stay at all.
We had been looking forward to this stay as it’s been one of the universal hotels e have never stayed at.
Firstly we requested if possible to have a room close to the harbour on a high floor. Originally we were given bottom//ground floor, we were told they could accommodate a room 10 rooms closer to the harbour on the second floor.
This was not the case, we were place in the room furthest away from the harbour on the second floor, not given good directions to get to the room, we got lost.
Room was dated, bathroom shower had black mold, tile grout in entry way was out g black with dirt. It just didn’t feel it look like a hotel that’s $600 per night.

The property was under construction and I was not informed until it was too late to cancel my booking. The staff gave me incorrect information about my early access to Universal, which ended up costing us some valuable time in the parks. I still love this hotel and will stay here again, but I guess I will have to do more of my own research because the staff isn’t very informative or aware of what’s going on.

Paid extra for bay view they were renovating while we were there, so there was a cover on the side of the building so could not see out the windows. 2 separate mornings we were woken by construction, sounded like it was 1 room away. If you self park and want to visit friends who live in the area you are gonna get charged$31.00 each time you leave that's right from Tuesday- Friday we left the property in our own vehicle 3 times $93.00. On the bright side of you are going to universal studios and Islands of adventure like we did the boats and busses are very convenient.

Our key for theme park didn't work on first day and at one ride we were told to go to guest services, queued there for 30 mins to then be told that there was no need to come here and they knew the cards weren't working that day and that they were notifying those operating the rides. You should just close the hotel as the amount of works being undertaken was so extreme it completely ruined our stay there. To walk outside and all you can hear is drilling and clunking of metal from the scaffolding is more than a little bit of work going on. The time spent waiting for our take away pizza was a little extreme from the deli. When we arrived the signage to find our room was non existent, it took us 20 minutes to find it and it was out of pure luck that we got to it. The number of water taxi's to take us to and from the parks was way too low, we had to queue for 30 minutes on two occasions to return from the park to the hotel, that is just not acceptable.

The property has a lot of renovations going on. The staff is world class though! And anything you need they are on it. Nice spacious rooms.

Great hotel for a universal studios trip

The hotel is under construction. We made the reservations in October and called the hotel directly to ask if the construction affected the water area and they said that it was minimal and did not affect the hotel view. We stayed there before and we brought some friends with us because we loved the view. Well the construction is massive and half of the hotel view is covered with tarps and scaffoldings. We were very disappointed that the water view was totally affected and the hotel was deceiving to say it wasn’t. The food is good at the restaurants and the boat ride to Universal is very convenient.

Horrible experience.
The hotel is rated high but is very simple and very old. The rooms are super simple and we had an “upgraded room”. The room was not ready for 5 people as we reserved, rather for 4 people. We had to ask for the rolling bed and waited for half an hour to receive it. Room service- tried to order on Saturday evening and had to wait 1:45 for the food! We got dirty bath robes. We didn’t have any conditioner and the shampoo is just not a shampoo. It’s fragrant water( Does not lather). The carpet stinks and old.in the morning for breakfast we had to wait an hour! To be seated. The restaurants did not welcome walk ins and they only accept reservations. The Starbucks branch is the WORST I have ever been too as far as service and staff.
The only reason to sleep there would be the fast pass you receive. Will try the other two hotels next time. Not coming back, you do not get what you pay for which is $500 per night.

Staff was nowhere near friendly, dated room, and bathtub did not work properly. No idea how this hotel has these premium rates. Do yourself a favor and stay somewhere that's hundreds less with a park shuttle - you'll be guaranteed to receive better customer service.

Excellent hotel to stay in. From Checkin to checkout, the staff couldn’t do too much for you to have a fantastic stay.
If you can, upgrade to Club Level. Saved us loads whilst in the parks.
The rooms were a great size. Beds were very comfortable.
Unfortunately, we didn’t have time to use the hotel swimming pools or Spa.
$29 (this was including tax) per night to park your car overnight.
A great way to get the Express Passes for free, rather than paying an arm and a leg for it at the parks.
Would we stay here again? Most definitely!

Nice and clean

Hotel was under construction, windows blocked with clear plastic sheet, constructions workers were literally looking into the room and discussing the work outside the window. Amenities are old and for the price it offers no value. Old shower, cheap coffee. All the staff are very friendly and professional! Housekeeping did a great job.
4.0
The staff were really helpful when accomodating our special requests and the property was even able to accommodate a room switch after we got a less than satisfactory room. The location was also great and having the boat to the park was very convenient. Pools were also excellent.
2.5
Our stay was amazing - service was courteous and professional - everyone from the front desk, car attendant, house keeping, pool side food service, and restaurants were all super attentive, courteous and provided amazing customer service.
