We overlooked a canal and could see out to one of the bridges if we put our head out the window. The service was excellent with friendly and helpful staff.

The staff are all very kind and efficient. We felt so at home and comfortable staying there.

The room was comfortable enough. It would have been too small for two people.
Two issues:
- the shower cubicle did not even allow one to turn round, scarcely deeper than a body. A large person would have found it impossible. The design of the bathroom, which included a bidet, needs consideration.
- the Aircon did not work. Already a warm April, it was uncomfortable with no ability to cool the room. Thankfully outside noise was low, so the windows could be open (exposing one to the risk of mosquitos).
Generally still a pleasant start and the staff welcome was warm and genuine.

Great location in a wonderful neighborhood! Breakfast eating area was a little cramped at times - had to wait for a table, but just one day out of four. Breakfast was good, staff was excellent.

Quaint little hotel right on the water, with a personal touch that feels like like you’re staying in someone’s cozy home.
The location is excellent, with all sorts of restaurants and attractions within immediate walking distance, and the staff are wonderful.

Staff were very helpful and accommodating to our circumstances. I was travelling with some excess baggage ( hockey equipment) They stored in their office and staged it for an early morning checkout.. very much appreciated by us. 5 stars out of 5 😊

We loved our stay in Venice! The property was in a great location with a friendly and helpful staff! Everything was clean and nice! We wouldn’t hesitate to stay there again! It’s a great place if you’re going to Venice!

False advertisement when i paid local taxes and shown my room after check in the room was totally different from the pictures. I paid $130 for a jail cell. Rude staff. It was a two twin bed room i got two single seperate wonder bread size mattress. I left the hotel.

Eligant, yet quaint. Nicely located.

This hotel is quite small and cramped. Location is nice but for the $, not a great value. They charged us for coffee in the afternoon and the complimentary breakfast was not so good. No hot items and no room to sit down to enjoy, 2 tables out front of hotel are at least with a view of the water. Would not choose to stay here again.

Frontdesk very helpfull. Help with bookings and info on the busboat. Helping us with a smile. We felt at home.

My wife & I have stayed quite a few times before at Hotel Ca’ Formenta and undoubtedly this is the best located Hotel in Venice to visit the 2 main Biennale sites which are only a few minutes walk away. The hotel is also conveniently located a short walk away from Arsenale boat stop which is reached fairly quickly by the Alilaguna red or blue lines from Marco Polo airport.
Initially I was very disappointed to arrive late afternoon & be allocated an inferior ground floor dark, dingy and airless room for the first night of 3. However on request the Hotel did move us to a much nicer and airy Junior suite for the next 2 nights which more than made up for this. A big thumbs up to the Hotel management for sorting this out in a polite and efficient manner.
Apart from the excellent location, the hotel is kept very clean & is run smoothly, the breakfast is more than adequate & the hot water for showers is copious. Venice hotels are not exactly cheap but Ca Formenta usually represents fair value for money relative to competitors.
The only downside are that mattresses are extremely firm & unyielding. Sleep quality is something that many hotels are judged by so perhaps the hotel should review this situation. Also, I have been visiting for over 10 years now & the decor looks “tired” & has not changed at all in that time. Perhaps a refurbishment would help freshen things up. I would book again due to the great location but it would be great to see some investment.

The hotel is well localized at one end of via Garibaldi, mainly when the main intention is to see the Bienal (our case). Close to the Arsenale, it is possible to see it from the water boat coming from the airport. The room had an old decoration but wi-fi, refrigerator, TV and shower were working properly. There is a supermarket and many restaurants nearby.

Location of the property is very impressive. Good view of the Lagoon. The staff are courteous.

The staff were very helpful, polite and friendly. Room was neat and well kept. Shower room was a little cramped but fine for us - people of a larger size would be uncomfortable, though. A petite shower cubicle offered ledges for toiletries and a small seat - very handy. Would stay again. Only negative was air con not in operation till June - last two nights were quite warm.

Very good location (next to the lagoon and close to St. Mark’s Square) and good breakfast.

Somebody entered my room and took my apple watch, when notified to reception was like tell it to the wall.

Location is excellent away from crowds but still accessible to centre
4.0
Good location, good distance from San Marco and away from crowd.
Staff very kind and assistance
Breakfast was good
Rooms are bit small but understand as in Venice.
Staying in a room on ground floor can be disturbed by noise from guests talking and smoking outside the only window of the room.
Washmachine was very handy.

Absolutely loved the location!

Lagoon-facing with fabulous view and sunsets, short walk to Arsenale vaporetto stop, plenty of cafes and restaurants around, comfortable room and bed. Good hot shower, otherwise en-suite bathroom needs updating. Could do with more electric sockets. Clean white sheets and towels. Breakfast not impressive - over-sweet fruit juice from a machine, tinned fruit salad with fresh apple added, coffee pretty ordinary. Home-made yoghurt cake was a welcome addition. Sat outside one evening with a drink from the small hotel bar. Free wi-Fi.

Stayed there before...good hotel away from the crowds of St. Mark’s and great, helpful staff...breakfast could be a bit more imaginative though.

Hotel Ca’ Formenta was a very nice hotel. The location was excellent, it was away from the crowds but within a 5-10 minute stroll to St. Marks. As for the service, we asked for a couple of pillows before we went out to explore Venice and when we returned the pillows were already in our room. The breakfast was light and tasty with a more than generous start/end times. The only two complaints we would have was that the bed mattress was rather stiff, and the air conditioning kept the room just barely cool. But hey, you can’t please everyone’s tastes. The bottom line is we wouldn’t hesitate staying there again.

Close to waterbuses so easy to get to where you want. Staff are very pleasant. Plenty of places near to get food. Breakfast was okay but could be improved

This was great location for us- an easy walk into St Marks to start the day.
Hotel was as described but the staff were better.
This is a well run, helpful set up.

We loved the canal location and the water view. The rooms are small but very clean and well equipped. The staff is excellent, always wanting to ensure you have the best stay and they go out of their way to be helpful.

Hotel is within walking distance of St Mark's Square yet out of the bustle with a lovely view of the lagoon & a vaporetto stop handy for exploring further afield. Breakfast plentiful, staff friendly & helpful, no complaints... a very pleasant three days.

Stayed here in July in a junior suite triple bedded room overlooking the lagoon. This was well worth the extra money. The room was bright and quite spacious for Venice!! (Room 407) We had big windows giving a wide ranging view towards the Grand Canal. Large yachts park nearby and the cruise ships are pulled through the canal with tug boats and pass right in front of the window. St Mark’s square is only a ten minute pleasant stroll away along the promenade. The location of this hotel was perfect for us. It was near the local Venetian areas, away from the major crowds of tourists and close to several reasonably priced restaurants. The friendly staff at reception all spoke great English and assisted you 24/7 with any help needed. The breakfast was fine…meat, cheeses, pastries, fruit. Coffee could have been better. I would definitely return to this hotel!

Family owned place and it shows. Everyone was super polite & accommodating. The facilities were basic, everything worked well. WiFi was fast, shower was hot, breakfast was good and the bed was comfortable. Overall just a great value in a great location.

The images are quite deceiving when it comes to size, we were particularly disappointed that the shower was so bad and barely ran. However staff are exceptionally friendly, very cute rooftop balcony to relax on and location is perfect.

I have stayed in Venice four times on holidays. This hotel has been the best because of the staff and location. I would recommend it to anyone.

Stayed at this hotel in 2008 and loved it. It didn't disappoint. It was just as well run and friendly as we remembered. The position is ideal - a short walk away from St Mark's square and a very short walk from the Alilaguna stop from Marco Polo airport. There was a bottle of Prosecco waiting in our room when we arrived back on his birthday. A lovely thought. We hope to go back again.
