Our second time staying here, and it is a pleasure! Nice rooms, great breakfast and fantastic view! Also a special thank you to the staff who were so quick and kind to help when our 3-year-old son needed medical attention - we really appreciated it, thank you again! We will stat here again the next time we come to Alghero.

The view at breakfast is second to none. Looked forward to breakfast every day just for the view. Maitre De at breakfast was lovely and made our stay wonderful. Great location very close to the old town

Hotel could not provide air conditioning during two sweltering hot nights when I stayed here in august, due to electricity issues. I understand. However, they refused to offer any compensation whatsoever. Luckily, Expedia worked with me and provided coupons for part of the stay.

We did not care for this hotel. The only thing it has going is a good breakfast, rooftop bar (reservations required) & location to old town city center. It’s a solid 3 star hotel. A/C didn’t work overly well. Could never get temp to cool to 20 like I had set & key must be in slot to work. So annoying. No parking at hotel without a reservation. Dated rooms.

Good location. Excellent breakfast in a scenic setting. There is free parking if you are willing to take an extra minute to look and understand the parking few rules. The off site parking is not close and is in an underground garage.

It was just ok. The room had a musty smell to itt, coffee mugs in room were dirty, and I was unaware of a large outdoor concert being hosted on Thursday night until 1am that made me lose sleep due to the uninsulated walls. Another big problem was lack of parking. To avoid making a reeservation for paid parking, I parked 950km away on a street next to an industrial area and a church parking lot and left the vehicle there for the duration, as parking is extremely difficult to secure. Onlynoffered 1 bottle of water which was odd. For the amount of money spent, I expected more and a more comfortable stay.

A great family hotel in the city center with everything walking distance. One of the best pizza (Safara 2.0) place just one min walk. Very good breakfast on top floor with beautiful views. The staff were very friendly and helpful.

The hotel’s location is excellent, but unfortunately, it’s the only outstanding feature. While the staff were friendly and courteous, the overall experience left much to be desired. The rooms were quite average, with mediocre quality sheets and towels. The bed was especially uncomfortable, featuring a cheap mattress that made for a poor night’s sleep. We booked one of the largest rooms available, but upon check-in, we were assigned an accessible room, which was cramped. The safe in our room was non-functional, and when we called reception around 2 pm, the service technician was unavailable. Fortunately, a very nice receptionist came to our room and managed to fix it after 40 minutes. However, we soon discovered that the door did not latch properly and could be easily opened with a minor push. The receptionist couldn’t fix this, so we had to use a heavy key instead of a card for our entire stay. No compensation was offered for these inconveniences. Overall, despite the great location and friendly staff, the hotel’s shortcomings significantly impacted our stay.

Roberta at the front desk gave us great service and a great chat about Alghero. Everything was extremely clean and fresh. The Blue bar upstairs had excellent food and drink but they could have used another server. The only fault in cleanliness was a huge pile of cigarettes butts outside the second floor restaurant leading to the patio.A small complaint… for a great stay . Highly recommend.

Amazing hotel in a great location with spectacular views. All the staff we met were very helpful especially at breakfast to cater for my gluten free requirements. The room was spacious and the bed comfy. Sockets next to the bed was a really big plus for us as many hotels do not have this! I wouldnt lower the score but the only con for us was them allowing dogs in the rooms. Overall we would come back tomorrow and recommend to everyone!

It is advertised as a 4 star hotel, however in my opinion its a good 3 stars. Everything is clean, breakfast is nice, staff is friendly and location is convenient to reach to and from airport by public bus for 1Euro. Nice view from the sky bar but make sure to be there before sunset to enjoy it. Not when its getting dark. Rooms ars very basic, have tv, tea kettle and mini bar.

The Hotel Catalunya is very well located., a few minutes away from the Old Town.The room was very comfy and well decorated. One dissapointment was however the Sky Bar opening times. It closes at 10.00 which gives you no chance of visiting if you check in late.

Rude receptionist upon arrival: we were loaded with luggage and he just said we should take care of it ourselves. He provided no help and lied about the service (we don't have anybody that can take care of your luggage this morning, then he said that nobody would be available in the afternoon either, then it came up that they don't offer this service at all. In a 4 star hotel! Furthermore parking was not available (once there we learnt that you have to specifically book for it in advance and pay 15 euro per day). The fridge in the room had not been checked and cleaned before our arrival and there was a dirty tissue in it. This was our worste experience ever in a 4 star hotel. I do not recommend it

Hotel Catalunya was a great stay, had very nice rooms and friendly staff. The hotel breakfast buffet was a great spread, had lots of options and the view from the skybar was fantastic. However, the air conditioning system in the room is horrible. The hotel sets the ac to automatically turn off at 24 degrees celsius with no way to over run it, so I found myself awake in the middle of the night sweating non stop. They sent a staff member up to fix the problem and he confirmed that the ac would not go below 24, so the rooms are basically always hot with no way to control the temperature. This was extremely frustrating. Further, don’t bother using the wifi as it is borderline useless. It would disconnect after using it for 2 minutes and you constantly had to keep signing back in. The wifi connection is also really really slow. All in all, the hotel was very good and new. However, I would not stay again due to the room temperature situation.

The Hotel room was below standard, Family room. 4th floor windows open wide no protection on windows, no safety, Children could easily lean out and fall. Bathroom from the 80's with bathtub and shower old style, Mold everywhere around the bath, water leeked all over the floor, only 2 soap bottle dispensers, Same soap bottle for every visitor (they don't chance bottles for every visitor) no single shampoo's, shower gel, soaps, or shower cap etc what you would expect from a 4 star Hotel. Bed side table's dirty sticky with cup rings, Floors dirty dusty, grubby. Caused dust alergies. Majority of Staff were unfriendly. Positive note for the breakfast, beautiful view, lovely food, abundant and varied. Negetive note, on the web site it said Restaurant open, when it is actually closed for the winter.. Over all very disappointing not 4 star standard, more like 2 star! You cant rate a Hotel with 4 stars based on its breakfast.

Great location just 5 mins from the beach and central Alghero … and all it’s restaurants! 9th floor has an amazing terrace bar for breakfast and evening drinks - great cocktails- overlooking the harbour. We had a single room for us and 2 teenagers. We separated the room with a curtain we brought with us. Thus gave us a great price and privacy too. Perfect for a cheaper family place to stay. Only very small fault is there isn’t much storage so clothes from suitcase mostly.

Very nice hotel in the center of Alghero and with sky bar with a fantastic view of the marina and old town. The room was spacious and really comfortable, with a perfectly working A/C. We also enjoyed the balcony (got the room with a view of the marina). The staff was really nice and friendly but not really well organized during breakfast. The quality of food proposed at breakfast was fine but not excellent. Also, we have found the selection a bit limited for a 4-star hotel. On our last day, in the morning the staff was not able to handle the number of people during breakfast causing confusion and long queues (people were asked to split to the sweet section or the salty one, what if I want both???). Anyway, overall the stay was more than pleasant and we really enjoyed the location.
