It’s really run down old property and in dire need of a full renovation. It smelled old, felt old, and not in a cute charming way. The breakfast was more basic than you can imagine in a dungeon. Location isn’t the greatest either.

Property is run down and outside city centre but gian luca was incredible, pleasant and so helpful

Really helpful staff and great breakfast

Great location, minutes from the old town. Has obviously been a top hotel in the past, it’s looking a bit dated but is clean, everything works and the staff are very helpful. Wi-Fi is a bit iffy in room 101!

Beautiful hotel in a great location. Easy walk tu o Olbia City center. We had a view of town and could see the big wheel.

Very friendly staff, good location, spacious room.
The only problem was that AC unit wasn’t working and it was 28-29 C degree.

We had a lovely time at this hotel. It was a short walk to tons of shops and restaurants and the staff was very helpful and nice.

Nice hotel but what made it stand out was how wonderful the gentleman at the desk helping us check in was.

The staff was really nice, the design of the hotel was a bit outdated, but the room was comfortable and the breakfast ok.

We spent 3 night there
-Nice, clean hotel in the center, close to everything you won’t need a car
-Friendly reception and very helpful
-Rooms are soooo big and comfortable (We can say it’s a studio not a room ^^)
-Parking is available
.
-Only negative point is the breakfast, poor, there aren’t many choices.

If you like to stay in “Barns,” Colonna Palace Mediterraneo is your choice! It should be remained to “Animals Barns House.” Old like Barns, carpet is dirty after pigs were there, no chairs on the balcony ducks and chicken destroyed it, elevator doesn’t work because they were lifting to milk a cow. Only receptionist’s guys were very nice and Francesca at breakfast. This is a 1 star hotel. Miss advertised!

This location was good for my stay and access to the train service and getting to the airport. There were plenty of places to get good food.

We were warmly welcomed even though we arrived on a ferry at 7am and check in is normally not until 2. Still they invited us to come in, gave us a wonderful breakfast and got the room ready early! We were surprised to have a little refrigerator and they gave us plates and silverware to use so we were able to have a simple supper in our room!

The hotel stink with very bad clothing smell. The breakfast was rubbish, nothing like 4 star at all. Not worth for money I spent, will never go again or recommend to friends.

I was just in the hotel for one night and it had a convenient location, close to downtown, shops, restaurants and busses. Perfect for business travelers. Room very big. Breakfast very basic

Good quality hotel/room with a massive sign on the top that you can see from the train station, the buses to other parts of Sardinia depart from the end of the road (20m away). Staff were a little weird but one was training (i think) and the other was just trying too hard.

Original room i was given had various problems...washbasin and bath didn`t have plugs.....tv didn`t work.....couldn`t get any natural light because the balcony shutters didn`t work.In the end i was given a far better room.
The Breakfast was absolutely awful...really awful and cheap.
The staff were excellent as was the location.
I would certainly not recommend this to anyone else.

The hotel is not far from the historic centre of Olbia, but is generally very quiet. Also, it is located less than 5 minutes' walking distance from the bus stop for Pittalongu and Palau. The hotel has a beautiful interior, and the service was quite good, as one would expect from a 4-star. One thing that stood out to me was my room; as mid-June is not high season, there were very few guests at the hotel. I'm pretty sure I was upgraded from a twin room to a queen suite, and obviously was very happy with the change. That said, I saw a twin room, and even this would have been satisfactory. The rooms are clean, a decent size and have all the necessities. Overall, I very much enjoyed the stay at the hotel.

The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly, was a pleasurable stay. The room could have been better though.

Welcome was good, and we were offered coffee while our passports were processed. Breakfast was acceptable. But the room was very small, the shower gave only a trickle and had to be hand- held and the AC unit was coming away from the wall. I know Sardinia is expensive, but this was definitely over-priced.

very kind service but Hotel in a poor condition, breakfast buffet very limited, not a true 4 star

It is situated in a busy bit of the town but its in a good place for visiting different parts of Olbia.

The room was really dark, even when you turned on all the lights & opened the windows. The room & bath did not seem clean. Bed & pillows uncomfortable. On the positive, the staff was extremely nice & helpful. Breakfast was great; location good. Overall it wasn't too bad since we got free breakfast & parking.

Staff were very helpful but does not fall into a 4 Star hotel. Breakfast a bit mediocre on one occasion no ham at all ( not delivered apparently -- we buy it in advance and keep in fridge for a few days!) Room smelt as though it had been closed for a long time without airing it

Hotel was at an ok standard. We had a very large room as there were 3 of us and a nice sized bathroom. Hotel was clean if a little dated. Location is good as not far to walk to main street and several shops and restaurants. Not an awful lot to do in Olbia, as most of the attractions and beaches are outside of town, so best to hire a car, as it would otherwise be difficult to visit more than one in a day, as they are all quite far apart

Hotel was clean - room was a bit primitive but adequate

The hotel staff was extremely helpful and went out of their way to accomodate us. They spoke english, which was nice since we didn't speak much italian. We requested to store our suitcases for two weeks while we bicycled the island, and they happily agreed. When we were leaving Sardinia and needed change for a 50 euro note (for the taxi), the desk clerk ran next door to another business to get us change, as he didn't have any at the desk. We were very impressed at the way they helped us out in every way they could - they went above and beyond, and were always pleasant. The rooms were large. The breakfast buffet was good, too.

The staff were very nice and helpful. The decor was rustic but clean. They have a parking lot which was very good and close to the main road.
2.0 / 5.0
This hotel is perfectly good in term of comfort, cleanliness and proximity to the centre of town. However, it is nothing special. Indeed, Olbia is not really a place I would recommend as a tourist destination.

Lovely large grand rooms with very clean toilet/shower. Beautifully furnished with period furniture but the rooms are a dated and dark because the windows have permanent shutters. Not quite 4* by UK standards. About 10 minutes walk from Old Town in the seedier side of Olbia. Tiny carpark but nice helpful staff. All in all, not a bad place to stay if you dont mind a 10-20 minute walk to the Old Town and harbour.
