If you're after 4 star super boutique cool, over 5 star bland, this is the hotel for you. Was nicknamed the Saint Tropez de Niege in it's day and you can still feel the 70/80s celebrity vibe running through its amazing architecture and design. Which set the look and style for the whole resort. The food is superb so i'd recommend half board. Location is incredible. You can literally ski in and out of the boot room and ski hire is opposite. Rooms are smallish but perfectly formed, Staff are lovely. It's a proper gem.

It was away from the busiest part of Avoriaz so it was quieter, but a good central location for walking everywhere we needed to go. Great location to ski out of too. The staff really made the experience exceptional...kind, respectful, and patient with our lack of French. Highly recommend.

Loved the 70's feel - so original, some areas a little tired but so charming you forgive this!

Hotel des Dromonts is a beautiful stylish alpine hotel, ski in/ski out and ideally positioned for the ski lifts. Bar Festival is perfect for après ski drinks and dinner - they do the most amazing fondue! Staff are welcoming and friendly, nothing is a trouble for them. It's our second stay at the hotel, and we'll be back. We thoroughly recommend it.

Very cool design hotel, with loads of history and a very special feel of Avoriaz when it was first built.

The hotel was very nice , staff very helpful especially with our late arrival. Staff even managed to sort us some dinner. The spa was lovely and the massages were excellent quality. The food at the restaurants in the hotel was fresh and tasty, breakfast offered a lot of choice

A quirky Daliesque hotel built in 1967 with sloppy floors funny angles and hidden rooms. Amazing shape internally and externally. Friendly helpful staff, great food and the location on the piste makes it ski out and almost ski in if you get the route right.

This was our first holiday to Avoriaz although my husband has been skiing in Morzine before. Avoriaz was a short cable car ride and sits above Morzine. We skied very late in the season but Avoriaz still had a really good covering of snow and all the slopes were open. The hotel was a perfect base for our stay in Avoriaz. The hotel was close to the Prodain Express lift, close to the town centre (Les Festival) and perfect for skiing in and out of the door. I would not hesitate to recommend the Hotel des Dromonts (I have already told lots of friends and work colleagues about it) it was pricey but I firmly believe that you get what you pay for and it was simply the best skiing hotel I have ever stayed in.

We loved the Hotel des Dromonts. From its 60's quirky ambience brought up to date , via its position just off the piste to fine dining without the fuss, this was a fab experience.
The greeting and check in on arrival was friendly and efficient, and we were delighted with our room. It was a larger one , we did spend more time in it than anticipated due to a slippage on the snow on the first day.
We were offered a half board upgrade and after seeing prices in local restaurants, we realised it was a bargain for three courses.Of the two restaurants we chose the "Enfants Terrible" which offered unfussy candlelit formality. Each day there was a brief menu of the day, with another choice for each course off the a'la carte at no extra cost, or a supplement of a few euros upwards per course to explore the menu further, Items such as rack of lamb, scallops and mushrooms in shells, duck breasts, red mullet, sea bass were served in an elegant and friendly manner by the young staff. The cost of a glass of house wine was reasonable, and there was a wine list to explore.
Breakfasts were excellent with a full range as expected.
The hotel public areas are furnished with 60's chairs, hide sofas and various other items of the period. Its a delight for anyone interested in style. Real log fires and cosy corners everywhere.
We used the spa once. Steam room, sauna ( indoors and outdoors) and an outdoor hot tub while the snow fell were all fine.

This very well located hotel is tucked away near the main town and also close to the cable car upon arrival. The room was good with nothing to complain about and like the hotel itself was warm and cozy. The open wood fire in the reception and quirky build of the building all add to the charm. An unexpected standout from my stay was the amazing 5 course dinner served by friendly staff at the hotels restaurant (a must!).Being located in Avoriaz village you can literally snowboard/ski out the door down to the nearest cable car, my only concern was leaving my equipment in the ski room which didnt feel secure.

Lovely friendly hotel in an excellent location.
Staff could not be friendlier and helpful.
Public rooms great including an open fire.
Room was very spacious and comfortable though the décor is a little tired.

The room was small but overall it was fine for a few days. The lobby area was very nice. No wifi or Internet or any real solution was a real pain and as a traveler paying the expensive cost for the room made it extremely overpriced since I had to search it out to stay connected.
0.5 / 5.0
It was the only available option in Avoriaz and was for half board.
The location was very convenient and you could ski from the doorstep of the hotel.
The "superior" room was tiny, with a double bed and only 2 stools and a small table, without balcony.
Dinner was excellent.
The staff was friendly and cooperative but the money spend on this hotel was not worth of it.
