Lovely as always. We have stayed many times.

I LOVE this hotel. I've stayed there every time I've passed through Spokane and will continue to do so. It has character (and parking) and a great restaurant on site.

Historic building in Spokane, across the street from the Fox theater. We enjoyed the speakeasy in the old violer room beneath the hotel. A great experience for anyone.

I really liked the room with extra space in a small foyer, full size bathroom and closet. the fridge and microwave were very useful. the room does not have a coffee maker; however there was always free coffee available at the coffee station on the second floor. In addition, the coffee shop down the street was very good. Several good restaurants in the area, but I also really liked the awesome deli at the local natural store called Huckleberry's. Recommended!

Great boutique hotel in center of city. Large room, well-sound-proofed from nearby train, comfy bath & bed, morning coffee & muffins service set up in quiet central lobby w gas fireplace. Downstairs restaurant w great food and service.

We always enjoy the charming Montvale; the comfortable 2nd floor lounging area, the quiet of a smaller hotel, the easy walk to downtown shops and restaurants. The rooms are comfortable and clean, the staff is pleasant, the communication caring and effective. Easy downtown parking too.

Staff was not the most friendly and actually a littlel bossy. Hotel was amazing and they have done such a great job restoring it. Downstairs bar was fantastic - great food. Disappointment was no where to have breakfast within a short walk - coffee yes, but no breakfast.

Excellent location and very comfortable.

Charming older property full of character but with current comfort. No coffee in room only bummer but the price was right and great location for daytime activities. Gated parking well worth it but has maybe 15-20 spots so get there early. A second lot nearby and not sure if gated. No need to walk around after dark with Gilded Unicorn restaurant and brewery right there.

The old hotel is showing some age. Thin walls and very noisy from room above. Do not recommend any lower floors

VERY COOL hotel! Oldest hotel in Spokane and built in 1899. Awesome remodel and rooms were quiet and very comfortable. Bed was amazing. Will definitely stay here again.

This is a historic hotel in downtown Spokane. It has so much character and is updated and clean!

The room was very confortable and very modern. The bed was great! I like being in a walkable area, plus there are electric Lime scooters nearby. Sure, some homeless downtown, but that is at a lot of places. I booked already for another stay.

Love this hotel but make sure you don't do like I did and check you don't need any housekeeping if you're staying for two nights or longer. They really short you on towels.

I highly recommend this hotel. The staff is accommodating, the hotel atmosphere has a quaintness and historical feel, and the rooms are comfortable and modern.

Cool old hotel, nice and accommodating staff, loved the secured parking for our truck camper. Only downside is it is an old hotel and you can hear squeaking from your upstairs neighbor and other people but not a huge deal. I would stay here again for sure

The door entry states that the door would be locked after 10pm and to call a phone number or ring what was essentially the doorbell. I was standing outside that door for 25 mins in downtown Spokane at midnight calling the phone number and ringing that doorbell with no response. After walking to a sister property down the street with everything I own in hand, I was turned back around to go to this hotel with the front desk guy giving me all the excuses as to why it wasn’t his fault he wasn’t there to open the door.
The room itself was clean, quiet, and had a lot of character.
When checking out, the front desk woman was rushing off to cook herself a cup of noodles and was disgruntled when noticing I was trying to check out. As I was leaving, housekeeping let her know another guest needed replacement coffee. The woman sighed and with a tone said “Guess I won’t ever get to eat my cup of noodles today!” Kind of funny but more so unprofessional.
Overall, I will not be staying here again.

Very clean. Rooms are spartan but adequate. Front desk person not the most welcoming guy.

I was charged more after our one night stay was paid for and we were home.
I noticed a charge of over 70.00 on my debit card and Montvale in Spojane had charged me again.
Please refund my money Expedia, Montvale, whonever is responsible for this. Paying an extra 80.00 for a one nights stay is not somthi g i agreed to.

The hotel is a beautiful, older wooden building downtown.
Their directions and communication prior to arrival were excellent.
However, three things were quite challenging:
* The wooden floors creak and squeak with any movement above you, below you, or next door. This meant there was creaking and squeaking most of the night.
* The walls apparently are not insulated (or are minimally insulated), so the person in the room next to me snored, and it sounded as if they were in my room. I also heard the conversations of those in the next room.
* The shower had some hair in the drain when I arrived.
While the hotel may be structurally beautiful and historical, my primary purpose for a hotel is to get a good night's sleep, so I plan on seeking other options for future trips.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Montvale! Vintage building and beautiful common area. Large room with comfortable bed. Easy walk to entertainment, shopping, many dining options, and riverfront park.

I have stayed here multiple times. This time I stayed in one of the smaller queen rooms. I was unaware that these rooms do not have desks-which makes doing work virtually impossible in room. Also-I had to park in the overflow lot, which is a walk down an alley. If you are alone at night, that can be quite daunting, given the homeless situation. I found that even with the lot having a gate, someone keyed my bumper overnight. That said, I will stay here again, as I do like the property and location.

This hotel exceeded our expectations! From the charming, clean rooms with comfortable beds, to the sitting area with coffee, tea, and piano music playing, to the warm welcome.at reception, our time here was extraordinary. We were a quick walk to Riverfront Park, shopping and restaurants.

We had a great stay in this old but historic and classy hotel. You can sit in the lobby and listen to soothing music, great service and food in floor B bar/grill and coffee/tea available all day. We will stay here again!

The girl who checked us in was not overly friendly, but she was very friendly the next day. The man who ran the day shift was amiable and chatty both days. We were a little disappointed we couldn't open the window for fresh air, but we got the AC to a reasonable temperature. We liked the continental breakfast right outside our room but would have liked to have seen some fresh fruit as well. Someone tried to get into our room one night, that was a little scary. We told the man at the front desk. He was supposed to look into it.

Very nice downtown property. Friendly staff. Also loved next door Whistle Punk micro-brewery for a great burger and brew.

Historic appeal. Gorgeous 1920s yet very well maintained property. All of the old charm has been restored. Makes it a fun and more interesting overnight stay. Open seating areas like the olden days in the middle of each floor.

No coffee in the room. Seems like such a simple but nice amenity.
