I would like to shoutout to Richie who went above and beyond to accommodate us. His professionalism and friendliness will bring us back to blue haven next time we go to Tobago

The property is in a state of disrepair and needs updating. The shower and toilet are good. The staff is friendly and helpful. The beach is beautiful. This was once an amazing place perhaps in the early 80s, but it's stuck there and not in a good way. There needs to be significant investment in restoring and updating this hotel. It's also not very accessible. It's too expensive for what you're getting. Definitely should receive a refund. We didn’t spend the night anf checked out early.

The property was beautiful and peaceful…the staff was very helpful and accommodating. I would definitely return

The staff were excellent and tried to accommodate us as much as they could. Unfortunately the property is in need of a lot of repair… it has great potential because the surroundings are beautiful. Rooms are outdated and not as clean and fresh. We were the only guests on premises

Pro: This is an older hotel with great character. The owner has done a great job with the re-model over Covid. The view from almost anywhere is fantastic, overlooking the entry to the Scarborough harbor. A nice public beach is just steps away. I think this is an overlooked property due to Covid and somewhat out of the way location. I was the only one there for my two day stay! Basically, the whole staff was waiting on just me! For that reason, my review may be a bit skewed. Although the restaurant was not open there is a bar by the lobby and they had the full menu available there. It was nice to talk directly to the chief and the food was great. Again I was the only one there so maybe I was treated better than if it was crowded. The room was comfortable and I slept well having the sliding door open to the ocean breeze and the sound of the waves.
Con: There are two building structures for the hotel rooms. I stayed in what would be the original structure and it was in good shape considering it’s an older structure. Next to it was an odd-looking cube like rooms with a separate roof structure. It is totally out of place and since I did not stay in that section have no idea what the rooms are like. IMO they should be torn down and rebuilt to match the older section. If you stay I would be confirming your room is in the original structure!
Note: This is Tobago and in general things are a bit run down and the sea air takes its toll on everything. I mention thi

Old property with a rich history. Has retained a lot of its old charm. Lovely location.Would definitely return.

Fantastic stay ! Property full of character and amazing natural beauty. Best views ever and the most relaxing private beach. Welcoming staff and very accommodating for any request. Will definitely return !

Very nice location. However more maintenance needed especially in the pool area.

Very clean & nicely well renewed cute resort! Me and my girlfriend definitely enjoyed our get away together and loved amazing views on the terrace and location! The staff were great too and friendly we would definitely stay again

We had a wonderful stay at the Blue Haven! We heard the hotel was closed for some time and recently reopened. Our room was clean and nicely decorated. The hotel has the most beautiful terrace overlooking the ocean! We loved having cocktails there during the day and wine at night. Highly recommend.

the location is fabulous and the ambience is breathtaking, the property though needs to be renovated and upgraded. the property generally appears as though it is being neglected but have great potential to be a top class hotel

The property needs a lot of updates, the staff were friendly, the tablecloths in the dining area weren’t changed daily, barely had staff consistently available, poor job of managing the wood interiors in the rooms. The pool wasn’t cleaned properly daily, they dont have wash cloths only the bigger sized floor mat towel, then I was given pool towels from the front desk and used them later in the day about an hour after and the towels were infested with red ants which bit me profusely. When I complained to several staff including the owner they looked at me with a sad face and didnt offer anything to rectify the bites/allergic reaction I had all over my body.
Thank God I didnt use the towel on my toddler otherwise this trip couldve ended before it started. Hoping expedia could rectify this for me. I want to go to the hospital but I am afraid of overseas medical care. Being bit by red ants while on a tropical vacation was definitely a downer.
The hotel has amazing views of the ocean.

The hotel is extremely old & extremely run down! The rooms are filthy, dates and the furniture is falling apart. The mattress was covered with one flimsy sheet, two pillows and two single roll out duvets for a double mattress it was actually disgusting. We then pulled out the bed to find hair, mould, cobwebs and so much DUST! Breakfast- the cold stuff was never on ice, just floating on a bucket of water. Breakfast was until 10am, we arrived most days at 9.30am to find the buffet pretty much empty. When we asked the chef if it’s possible for them to top up certain things her response was, “whatever is left that is it!" Not a security guard in site, anyone can drive into the hotel and go as they please. When asked if there were any security on site front desk said “they come now and again!” The wifi never worked. Appliances in the room dont work, only two lights on the patio worked. The pool is black, dirty & dated. The “beach bar” is an old abandoned shack with no beach chairs, service or any attention from the hotel. We stayed for 4 days and the rooms were cleaned ONCE, front desk used the excuse, “house keeping must of skipped your room, we can send you towels now” The "massage deck" does NOT EXSIT!
None of the photos online reflect the hotel, it's a scam! The owner is dishonest and selling guests lies about his hotel! When I told the owner how terrible my stay was, he told me too bad it and it is the leading hotel! DO NOT STAY HERE

spectacular View nearly private beach great pool great staff. Felt like staying in someone's private home

Out of the way, away from the "busy" street. Loved felling asleep to the ocean waves and waking up to the same sound. Going back next year with our kids.

The staff was friendly and accomodating. The place is in need of an upgrade and the amenities

The hotel needs a complete overhaul! Being the oldest hotel in Tobago, it was very disappointing enough is not be done to restore this hotel to its grandeur. With that being said, the staff were exceptional! Christian was superb! He did his best to give us a room with a view to die for! The room was spacious and although dated, we didn’t want to leave the room because of the view. It made up for the lack of everything that was missing from the pictures that were posted on Expedia. The owner needs fix the property!!

This Property was breathtaking. The location was awesome . However the property can become such a great experience for visitors and also a cash cow. The lack of security on the compound, the dirty drapes, the ants and roach within the rooms, the water being turned off 30 minutes before checkout, the unkept flooring, NO WIFI, the some what abandon spaces (rooms) on the compound should all be on managements priority list. I would revisit this hotel if everything listed above was addressed.

It was a small intimate place. The staff was exceptional friendly and courteous

Incredible views
Front desk person (Richie) was wonderful
We felt like we were with a friend

Nice view , only luke warm water and poor lighting. Overall very basic but relaxing.

Unfortunately the property needs an upgrade. The lobby chairs need cleaning and should be reupholstered. The rooms were stuffy. The drapes were old and worn. The floor needed polishing. The cost is too much for the poor quality.

THE OWNER, AN AUSTRIAN, IS VERY FRIENDLY AND HELPFUL, AS ARE ALL EMPLOYES TOO.
THE AMBIENCE IS NICE, BUT REQUIRES A RENOVATION.
THE BREAKFAST IS GOOD, WITH PROFESSIONAL WAITERS.
I LIKED THE LOCATION, BUT YOU MUST HAVE A CAR TO VISIT THE BEST ATTRACTIONS OF THE ISLAND.

It’s all about location….. The hotel is located right on the beach, it’s beautiful and green and is within walking distance to town, the breakfast is excellent, the restaurant overlooks the ocean and with the deck overlooking the ocean the sunrise and sunset is a spectacular sight.
Wendy the GRM and all the staff were very pleasant and accommodative, Wendy was helpful in arranging our transfer to the hotel (it’s nice especially when you are visiting for the first time) during our stay the staff were very accommodative they also recommended stuff to do suitable to our likes. For visitors it’s good that the Hotel has a dedicated Taxi contact “Mr. Beardie” so you know you are in safe hands. In short this place is worth revisiting

When we booked the Hotel, I checked review;s . With Only two day to travel and when Expidia showed only 3 rooms left, we made the reservation, not to miss out.
Upon arrival, after 18:00. Hotel did not have our reservation. We had to wait LONG, WITHOUT any explanation why. When ask, no answer given....
No Restaurant open... No other guest around. We were a party of 4 in this Hotel. ONLY GUEST.
We did not see apart from the front offer clerk , no other living thing... and the security guy at the gate out side. NO ONE ELSE.
Place was very spooky. and it was full moon..... From the front of the Hotel, you can see all the front doors with light on. But when you walk to the back, pool side, all rooms are dark, No lights on. The whole place was dark..
It was a very uncomfortable feeling. We walk down to a nearby restaurant. There we had our diner, and saw more people from the area.
Breakfast was included, but with no restaurant open ?? In the morning we checked out and left at 7am to cached out ferry back to Trinidad.
Tobago it self was great....

They did not have our reservation on their system. They advised that they would rectify the situation when we told them that we booked through hotels.com. We arrived at the hotel at the check in time only to be told by the receptionist (very nonchalantly) that the room was not ready and to wait in the lobby for a short while. An hour and a half later, the Manager offered us a temporary room until the designated room was ready. The rooms themselves were of a decent size and condition however the property itself is badly in need of maintenance. The sea blast has obviously taken a toll and whoever is in charge of maintenance needs to get serious. The white chairs in the lobby area had black hairs stuck in the upholstery and the wicker furniture obviously had not been cleaned for some time. There was also a christmas tree in the centre of the lobby with the electrical chord for the lights attached to a perimeter wall posing an obvious tripping hazard (with no caution signage). The service at the restaurant and the beach bar was great!

Very good hotel, friendly staff and good customer service..

Great stay and wonderful owners...if you enjoy appreciate being part of the island and near town this is a great hotel. Wonderfully helpful staff that will make you feel comfortable from day one... also the beach and terrace are great!

Cannot fault staff, nor what they did to try and recify all the niggly problems we had, but this place was WAY OVERPRICED. The location is superb for us on a tiny beach with only maybe 10 other guests, BUT....
No soap, tissues, tea/coffee maker or washcloths in the room - for what they charge per night I expect these. safe did not work, (they did get it to). 3 lights out (fixed) and the WORST bed I have ever slept in - really hard. Unfortunately ate at the restaurant first night, it was terrible - again the staff were great, but the food was not. thank god for reasonably priced taxis to take you to good restaurants.
Sadly lacking in management supervision - we would have a drink in the aftenoon and the next day our empty glasses were still on the same place by the pool. Same with the loungers (first day we asked for towels and they only had one!) Loungers left out in the rain overnight so could not be used next day. Gym and spa advertised - these were padlocked doors
The rooms I think have recently been refurbished, were clean and tidy, but the rest of the resort is very "tired" and I think living on its past. Its a shame because the location is just beautiful and the staff were superb - could not do enough for us, very friendly and helpful
