Stay was very comfortable and I was impressed with all the staff’s helpfulness. The rooms decor was a little dated and was surprised for the need to charge for parking

Only stayed one night for work. Had a four poster bed and jacuzzi bath absolutely lovely, design is old but how it should be very lovely, usb ports plenty of plugs, WiFi work. Only complaint is I waited an hour for room service and food was luke warm.

Not overly friendly service, rubbish left in room and really needs modernisation as room is dated. Was perfectly acceptable for a 1 night stay for a night out in Plymouth

great so close to pavilions a must when going to a show there

Hotel staff were very helpful when I needed to cut short my stay due to a problem with the rail company (advising us not to travel on the day I was due to return). The hotel reception staff did everything from their end (I was booked through third party)
The room itself was fine although the wooden furniture could probably do with a refresh. Bed itself was comfortable. The bathroom is very good having a bath and shower and lots of room.
Due to the short stay, I didn't get to use the swimming pool. I was looking forward to using it.
The breakfast was nice.
I would definitely return to this hotel but will probably drive next time, unless the return date is anything but a Sunday.

Room was clean amd all equipments working prefect. Sauna and Steam room were also open. Overall a good experience.

Great hotel. Very friendly, helpful staff. Room was huge and bed was super comfortable. It is a Victorian listed building so some of the features eg sash windows weren’t ideal but part of the character of the building.

All good, all clean and staff were excellent.

Was disappointed that wasn't offered an upgrade when Hotels.Com Gold Member says this should be offered when available ????
Also - my Company Credit card wasn't working (Hotel Room had already been paid in full) and the receptionist tried my card and when it failed - stated that I couldn't stay the night unless I produced another card !! Had to use a card i never use luckily I had it with me
Probably wont be staying again

Hotel is old, is fairly clean but smells stuffy . Our bedroom ceiling was leaking. Room was fairly small
bathroom was tiny but clean. Breakfast staff gave poor servi e and seemed not to care for its guests. Breakfast had sat undar a heat lamp and was dry, served on a scorching plate.

Friendly staff, great location. Room was lovely. Great to have pool and gym. Changing rooms do need a refresh as the showers were grim. Bar meal was ok, seating not really conducive to dining though.

The position of the hotel is convenient for town and only 10 minutes walk to The Hoe.
I was there 3 night and for two out of three of the breakfasts I had to find a member of staff to order breakfast. They didn't come to take the order.
The hotel is noisy with traffic and street noise though due to it's position.
The breakfast was good and provided gluten free options, however the tea seemed poor and travelling alone only got a small pot which quickly went cool before the hot breakfast came.
Good evening meals in the Brasserie

The food was delicious and a fair price for what you get. The kitchen opening times could be a bit better but overall it was great. The staff are lovely, especially Anora. She went above and beyond for us and was great with our 7yo.
The beds were very comfortable and the family room we had was a good size for our long weekend away. The only downside to the room was that there was no extractor fan in the bathroom so the room got very warm when someone had a shower/ bath. There was air conditioning though which helped a bit.
We were there for a wedding and it was absolutely beautiful. I couldn't fault the staff that were working it at all.
I would recommend staying here. The building was beautiful and in a great location

The family room/s we booked was a good size. It had a double bed and a single bed in one room, and then 2 single beds in another room. The bathroom was a massive wet room that looked like it had been recently fitted. The beds were really comfy. The only thing that let it down a bit was that the family room was on the busy road side of the building. It was on a busy traffic junction, and there was a bar just down the road which was fairly noisy - it was a Friday night though. The kids commented about the noise, but then they are not used to being anywhere noisy (as we live on a quiet street) - they soon went to sleep though.
Breakfast the following morning was lovely, and the staff were really nice.

Great hotel, fantastic staff, pool, sauna and steam room were a bonus.
Close to shops, ferry port and Plymouth hoe.
Definitely would recommend this hotel and have done, my son and his partner are booked in next month.

This is the 3rd year we have stayed here and this year was the worse experience ever. We paid extra for a four poster room. The room was shabby with paint chips on furniture and worn out patches on the carpets. The windows wouldn't close properly and so the noise from the main road was not blocked out. Most annoyingly, the TV was briken and the toilet seat was not fitted correctly causing it to slide off when you sat on it. These last two were reported to staff on the first night, but they did nothing to resolve this for two days, and only after I informed a different member of staff. On the first evening we ate in the bar area and had to listen to a man making a threatening call to someone. He was almost shouting and was swearing to the point that a family moved their children to another area. The three staff who were in the area did nothing to address this.

The new continental is well placed , an in walkable distance to the Hoe beach area and to the town centre. I was very pleased with leisure facilities gym 🏋️♀️ and spa suite. The only thing i could say negativly was the room we stayed in the sashe windows had worn spring mechanism so windows wouldn't stay open . The cooked breakfast was excellent and staff service was great. Would recommend and would return

Had a three night break on my own. To chill out as l am a carer. So enjoying some chill out time. The day before l was due to go l had a phone call from the hotel. The lift was out of action and l was booked in on the 5 th floor. I had asked for a walk in shower not in a bath. She was concerned about the stairs. There was no way l could go up all those stairs. So they moved me down to the first floor just in case. Lucky the lift was fixed. They left me on the 1st floor. The floor was absolutely lovely. Very comfortable. Not far to walk to the city centre and the hoe. I like it so much l am going back again on 31st October for two night as a Birthday treat. This will be my top choice of places to stay. Would recommend it .

Family, or accessible room was very large and clean. Good location but outward facing rooms very noisy due to single pained glass and a lot of evening events nearby. Ev charging points. Dated in appearance. Nice breakfast.

Beautiful building and central
Location, But the Hotel is so dated. Low water pressure , drinking water at breakfast tasted of lime even the tea was awful - sorry hotel for bad review but I’m just being honest

Good: Location - close to city centre. Staff were very attentive. Food was excellent.
Bad: Noise - old building, so lots of creaking floors especially in the room above ours, where they seemed to walk about all night every night. Old sash windows which didn’t close properly (no double glazing at all, which would help) so all traffic noise was very loud, leading to poor sleep.
Bath/shower: jacuzzi bath, which sent lots of dirt into the water on certain settings. Shower is handheld on top of taps - no wall mounting or shower curtain, so difficult to use without soaking bathroom.

There was no VIP benefits here, the noise in the hallway kept waking me up, and then at 6am what sounds like scratching from the room above woke me up again. I was extremely tired.
Room and bathroom were clean and staff friendly.
