Great little boutique hotel in Venice. We walked to dinner & caught boats easily to other areas . Friendly staff!

We recently stayed at the EXCESS VENICE - Boutique Hotel & Private Spa and our experience was nothing short of exceptional. From the moment we arrived, we were greeted with warm smiles and outstanding hospitality from the staff, who were incredibly friendly and attentive throughout our stay. The hotel itself is a hidden gem in the Dorsoduro district, offering a perfect blend of luxury and comfort. Our room was elegantly decorated, spacious, and equipped with all the modern amenities we could ask for. The private spa was a wonderful addition, providing a serene and relaxing escape after a day of exploring Venice.Breakfast each morning was a delight, with a variety of delicious options to choose from, and the staff in the dining area were always welcoming and helpful, ensuring we had everything we needed. One of the standout aspects of our stay was the impeccable service. The concierge and reception team were incredibly helpful, providing excellent recommendations for local dining and attractions, and always ready to assist with any requests we had. Their friendliness and dedication to making our stay memorable truly made a difference. The location of the hotel is fantastic, offering a peaceful retreat while still being close to all the major sights and attractions of Venice. The beautiful garden and the view of the canal added to the charm of the hotel.Overall, our stay at EXCESS VENICE was unforgettable, thanks to the exceptional service, beautiful accommodations, and wonderful

Horrible experience. Upon arrival front desk wanted me to upgrade rooms for $1200 euro more. I declined. They put me on the ground floor and the room had the worst smell I have ever smelt. They said they were fully booked even tho they showed me the room they wanted me to upgrade to. They spent several hours trying to rid the smell. Smell was so strong I felt like I wanted to puke. They made me stay in the room that night and the next I was able to change rooms. I was also suppose to have a bottle of wine on arrival. They never put it in the room. I asked the next day and they still didn’t. On my last night at 10pm they offered to bring it finally. lol. A/C machine was not cold. The room was ok. Will never stay here or recommend to anybody visiting Venice.

The Excess Venice Boutique Hotel is situated in a quiet backwater on the banks of a canal. It’s within a 25 minute wander to St Mark’s Square. The hotel has a lovely garden, where you can eat breakfast in the summer months. Our room was large, very clean and had everything we needed. The staff were lovely and welcoming. I would highly recommend the hotel for a relaxing break in Venice.

Hotel Excess was so quaint and staff was so great. Breakfast was very nice. I would recommend this boutique hotel to anyone.

Away from the crowd. Quiet.

My stay at Excess Venice was nothing short of delightful. Nestled right next to a serene canal in a peaceful and safe neighborhood, this hotel offers a perfect escape from the hustle and bustle. Upon arriving late at night, I was impressed by the warm welcome from the front desk staff. They were incredibly accommodating, quickly preparing a simple yet satisfying snack of toast and cheese for us.
The room was immaculate, echoing the overall cleanliness of the entire hotel. Mornings were a highlight with an exceptional breakfast spread featuring a wide array of fruits, breads, and other choices that cater to every taste.
Excess Venice combines the charm of its location with outstanding service, making it an ideal choice for anyone visiting Venice. I highly recommend this hotel for its comfort, cleanliness, and the exceptional service provided by the attentive staff.

We loved our stay here. The staff are really nice, our room was lovely and we were in a nice quiet part of Venice just a short walk from some main attractions.

Best hotel in Venice no doubt. Charming and beautiful

Truthly the hotel is pretty nice, but undoubtedly overpriced.
To make things worse, we had a very unpleasant surprise at check-out. Upon arriving on our first night, the concierge Ibrahim was explaining to us a few things of the hotel and confirmed to us, three times, that breakfast was included.
Upon check-out we were faced with a very large bill, and they told us that unfortunately the staff had made a mistake in telling us it was included, and that we would need to pay for it.
160 euros for 4 days, which left a very sour taste in our mouths.
Overall not a bad hotel, but wouldn’t recommend due to already high price, but most importantly due to incompetence of staff
4.8
Nice hotel, friendly staff. Mini bar overpriced and a bit far out location wise if you want to be central. If you prefer the hustle and bustle this hotel isn’t for you.

Excellent service

A bit far from St Marco.
Check-in process was great and the gentleman was very professional.
All perfect except for checking out. I booked a pickup at the hotel and the lady insisted that I walked 10 min away over to the taxi port with heavy luggage to meet the driver there. How could I tell which driver and car? I ended up meeting the driver at the hotel but why did I have to fight for that?

The staff is very nice and helpful, making me feel respected. And the property kind has an old world charm to it.

In short we chose this hotel based on reviews as well as finding out that the area is quieter than say San Marco.
Note, the pictures of the rooms do not do justice. Our room and what we saw was much much better. We had a flexi option and were pleasantly surprised.
Location, convenient, quiet and what we wanted.
We stayed two days here and then two days near San Marco. Hence a calmer location was aimed for.
Staff, very pleasant, welcoming and helpful. A big thank you to Anna. For her suggestions.

This is a very overpriced hotel. For ~$500/night I expect some extra value beyond a pretty standard room. The room and common areas are average, not bad, just nothing special. The spa (an infrared sauna and a hot tub) is €120 extra for 3 hours access.
There were no hand towels in the men’s lobby bathroom (standard they say), the shower in the room spilled onto the floor to which the solution was more floor towels, nothing more to speak of other than the garden in the back which is nice, but nothing too special.
There is better value all around Venice.

LOVED this hotel. Will definitely be back for sure!

The staff at Excess Venice were an absolute delight and went above and beyond making sure we made the best of our stay and had access to unique experiences, like helping book a private boat ride on the canals. The location was perfect. Like others have said, it’s close to main areas a traveler would want to see but on a quiet street so you can get out of the crowds. The overall ambiance was great as well. Would highly recommend.

***** FIVE STAR Boutique Hotel ALL the WAY..!! My girlfriend & I (now fiancé, after this trip..!) stayed 3-nights in the *Executive Suite, Canal View (With Spa)* and we Loved every moment of our Romantic Venetian experience, thanks in large part to the wonderful team @ EXCESS VENICE..!
The Room: Magnificent! We’ve stayed in a plethora of amazing accommodations around the world but having our own designated ‘Steam-Room’ & large ‘Private-Jacuzzi’ inside the room here was Sublime and greatly enhanced our comfort & overall sense of relaxation. Of course, enjoying a glass of champagne while sitting out on the terrace in the evening and taking-in the beautiful view & various scenes along the Canal was another Cherry-on-Top as well.. You might even feel a bit like Royalty as you wave to passerby’s, embrace it..! ;D
The Team: Creating that ‘Five-Star Experience’ takes a whole dedicated team of friendly and attentive staff. EXCESS VENICE succeeds here in-spades..! The owner (Elisareta) and her entire team was always eager & more than happy to go above and beyond to make sure we had everything we could possibly need to guarantee our stay was as perfect & romantic as possible.. They often would even anticipate whatever we might need ahead of time, so we rarely even had to ask. That’s the Five-Star Treatment..!
Highly recommend whether you’re looking for something Romantic, Relaxing, or you simply just enjoy High-end accommodations with impeccable service.. You can’t go wrong.

Overall a nice hotel other than the AC not working well.

Not friendly at check in. Not very helpful with transportation back to airport and given different info from different members of staff. The only other interaction we had was asking for toiletries and were told they didn’t have the number for housekeeping so couldn’t help. Not 5 star service or hotel in my opinion .
4.8
Excellent all around. Within 15 minute stroll to everything you could want to do in Venice. A huge bonus is that the first or last 5 minutes of your walk is quiet and peaceful near the hotel. A little bit removed from the masses that come to experience Venice. Breakfast is fantastic and even more so when in the courtyard. Highly recommend!

Booked this hotel for my wife and her mother on a surprise holiday to Italy. Of the 5 hotels throughout Italy they stayed at, this one the do not stop talking about. From the service, premises, comfort, and anything else you could imagine, it was outstanding!

We loved our stay at Excess Venice! The location was positioned well for getting to the touristy areas, while still be remote enough to have quieter secluded time. Our suite was beautiful and the service was fantastic. Staying here made our visit to Venice all that much more special and we will definitely be back.

Close to Vaperretto. Clean. Quiet. Beautiful. Unique

Very very nice boutique hotel, if you are looking to be in a quiet area, because the busy area is about 25 minutes walking

Went for my wife’s 30th birthday. Spoke to the hotel ahead of time to say I was coming for her birthday and they gave me options of what they could do for her. On the day arrived to the hotel and we’re greeted by friendly staff. The hotel itself is very nice and in great condition. On arrival to the room it was decorated for my wife and had champagne, chocolates and other stuff all nicely decorated. She loved it. The room itself was very nice, spacious had a mini bar plus coffee and different types of tea. The main feature was the bathroom which was beautiful. Rooms cleaned everyday to a very high Standard. Breakfast was really nice especially in the garden which is beautiful. Overall a really good experience with great staff and fabulous hotel.

A really lovely hotel. The service was exceptional. Fantastic comfy beds, lovely bathrooms and exclusive bathroom articles. The breakfast was fabulous and plentiful. Definitely recommend and will try to come back one day.

Wonderful luxurious Hotel (own Illy Espresso machine in the room, Villeroy & Boch dishes,...) and great hospitality!
4.8
Hotel staff were helpful and friendly, location was great, garden loungers out the back were comfortable.
4.8
Lovely hotel in a great location but be aware that the spa is not complimentary - it is chargeable which is not mentioned on the website or even when booking the spa (I had 3 interactions with staff about our spa booking and it still wasn’t mentioned). We were only told we had to pay for it on check out which seems a bit underhanded. When we refused to pay because we weren’t made aware of this, the receptionist became quite cold and dismissive. They also tried to charge us €30 to post a phone charger that was left in our room, which is pretty excessive.
4.8
This hotel is located in a quiet neighborhood, a short water bus or water taxi ride from the main attractions on place St Mark. It is therefore away from the busy streets, an enjoyable peace after hours of visiting landmarks. The rooms are spacious, and the beds comfortable. The view in the peaceful garden was a nice plus.Their breakfast was amazing.
