Lovely break for a couple of nights. Food was great, very enjoyable stay.

Located in a lovely setting but starting to look a bit tired throughout.
We booked an upgraded room so two nights cost £355.00
Bed and breakfast which I don’t feel was good value.
We have stayed in a much nicer hotel with that amount of budget.
The room was OK but things like a shower over the bath with a rather tired curtain were not what we had expected.
The staff were friendly and helpful and the breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately I felt the experience didn’t live up to our expectations and was in my opinion over priced.

I like to give a honest review and did like the place . We stayed in room 37 which requires redecorating as not been touched for a number of years and was NOT luxury as advertised for the price . Food was nice in the bar and breakfast was also very good . Spoke to another couple who were of the same opinion plus did not like the tv on in the bar area as they or us did not want Eastenders on .
while eating !! Just needs some TLC .

The hotel is in a beautiful setting, and the staff could not have been more attentive or friendly. The food was excellent and great value.

We were warmly welcomed as was my dog who was able to stay with us - which is a bonus. The people were very friendly and more than happy to help wherever possible.

We arrived just before 11pm and we’re shown directly to our room in another building across the car park. Unfortunately the lights on the outside of the building weren’t working, so we used the torches on our phones to find our way in. Upon initial inspection, the room looked very dated, but quite spacious, we had booked for 3 guests as per the description, (our young daughter was staying with us in the room), but they had called to say unfortunately it was a mistake on the Hotels.com website and the room can only hold two people, but our daughter was welcome to share our bed if we didn’t mind ! When getting into the bed, our young daughter pointed out the toenail clippings all over the floor next to the bed, so clearly the room had not been hoovered prior to our stay. In the morning, my wife and daughter had breakfast (very awkward service). Upon leaving, we were asked to pay a further £25 for my daughter, which I point blank refused as the room was booked for 3 people and was then too small for three people and our daughter had to sleep in with us. Disappointing and will not be returning.

We loved the location and the hotel was full of character. The only thing we did not enjoy was the meal on the first evening. We opted for a pub classic, the pie which was recommended on the menu, but unfortunately the food was lukewarm and bland. On reflection perhaps we should have eaten in the restaurant instead. This was the only complaint as everything else was amazing.

This was a last night away before driving home, booked so we could explore Exmoor. On arrival couldn’t locate reception staff but once found very helpful. Room was nice enough, wasn’t amazing quality but comfortable and clean. Bar staff were very nice, meal in the bar was not great sadly. First issue was undercooked Camembert, Steak was returned and clearly microwaved before being returned and awful, burgers were dry and tasteless, fish was better. Young person serving didn’t ask if everything was ok and management didn’t bother. Breakfast was better and couldn’t fault the service. Independent hotel and well attended, wish I could say we would return but won’t. Would have loved to give a better review.

From the moment we arrived we were treated like royalty. It was wonderful, after a long day travelling, to park up without difficulty and then be shown to our rooms in person by the owner/manager who was SO attentive and polite.
The room was totally charming, in keeping with the age of the property, and the bathroom superb.
We had a fabulous evening meal, well presented and great portion size, and a good night's sleep.
The breakfast in the morning was second to none and made to order with ever need catered for. Our waiter made us feel that we were the only diners in the room. The service couldn't have been better. Well done White Horse Inn! I hope we can visit again. 10/10

Lovely old hotel. Plenty of character in a beautiful Somerset village. Lots to do within a short drive and plenty of walking. Room good, friendly staff, food great excellent service. If you want a sterile modern hotel then don’t bother with this hotel.

We had a wonderful, romantic weekend in this beautiful setting. The snowfall added to the spectacular scenery around us and the log fires and mulled wine added to the ambience of it all. The staff were amazing and did everything to make it a lovely weekend. Food was delicious and staff went out of their way to make it special time. Highly recommend.

We have stayed here before many years ago so wanted to come back to this lovey Inn. We were not disappointed. One of the nicest things was to hear the horses going out on exercise every morning. The place is so tranquil and therefore helped us to relax.

This was our first stay here, we were impressed by the lovely location and quiet village setting, the room we had was spacious, and all the staff were friendly and helpful.
We had Sunday carvery in the evening which was really good and breakfast was excellent, could not fault this stay.

Hugely overpriced. The room was supposed to be "luxury"
It turned out to be quite small in the lodge next door.
The 21 day hung Sirloin steak was as tough as an old boot, even a steak knife struggled to tear it. Restaurant staff couldn't understand it as the butcher gives them priority!! Still charged full price even though sent most of it back. Observed other guests getting abrupt treatment and one even commented that it was not a pleasant way to be treated.
Location is nice with stables to the rear but we wouldn't stay here again

Lovely location. Busy pub if you prefer quiet. Good good. Staff courteous and helpful. Rooms recently upgraded some. Shower not a power one. Very accommodating of dogs in restaurant and rooms.

My partner and I recently spent two nights at the White Horse Inn and would definitely recommend this wonderful spot.
The rooms were very comfortable with a classic country, cosy feel, and ours had a lovely view overlooking the nearby stream.
We ate at the hotel restaurant both nights of our stay (opting for the quiet snug room at the back of the restaurant area) and were very impressed with the quality of the food. Overall, the breakfast and dinner options were fantastic and offered a good selection for most guests. Our only issue was the lack of vegetarian options on the menu. The one vegetarian main was a chilli which was unfortunately incredibly spicy and would be too hot for many diners.
The staff were wonderful! Welcoming, friendly and attentive to guests' needs. We'll definitely be returning!

It was a pleasure to stay in this hotel for three days.
From the start when booking in the receptionist was so welcoming as was any member of staff that I had contact with.
The room I stayed in was spotless and well equipped.
I only ate breakfast at the hotel . The menu was varied and food presented well. I should mentioned that the staff again were welcoming and very helpful
I would recommend this hotel 100%

Although managed a parking space it was limited and very tight. Carpets in communal areas in need of replacing. Although bathroom clean in need of a shower replacement. Staff were pleasant. Hotel seemed Covid secure and food ok.

Really enjoyed our stay. All staff very friendly and helpful food really excellent. This is a great area to explore and Exford is an ideal central place to stay.On the downside we thought our room was a bit ordinary for the money and parts of the bar and restaurant were dull.
