The good stuff. Cheap room rate. Comfy bed. Good location. Staff very pleasant.
The bad stuff. Old and stained carpet everywhere I looked. Tired rooms. Rusty metal in showroom. Door security in public areas not working. It’s an ex Travelodge and not a penny seems to haves been spent on it since they sold it. But at this room rate there will not be funds for a refurb.

This is by far the worst place i have ever stayed. Dirty, Stained, old, poor condition, smelt of urine, just awful.

The room was awful. Very small but that didn’t matter too much. The TV didn’t work, the window did not seal so was noisy from the road and the bed was the worst bed I have ever had the misfortune to sleep on. The mattress was completely gone and the divan base. We had to move the mattress onto the floor so it was on a hard surface. This the showed how disgusting the base was. There was actually mold growing on the base. I am not fussy and used to camping but I expect a decent bed in a hotel even a budget hotel shouldn’t be that bad.

Everything about this place is horrendous. The state of the rooms is truly shocking - holes in the wall with crumbling plaster, melted patches on the carpet and mould around the edges of, and mould in the corners of the bathroom floor too. The stale smell of damp hits you the moment you open the door. It remained on my clothes after I’d left.
My room had dirty, wet, make-up smeared linen in it on my arrival. The road noise in my room is outrageous - not even earplugs stop it. The crockery in the room was filthy. The bedsheets felt as stiff as cardboard and smelt like stale cigarette smoke. The fabric chair was covered in stains and sticky patches, and looked like it has never been cleaned. That thing alone looks like it could give you an infection.
The shower leaks all over the floor, is absolutely covered in limescale and has terrible water pressure. The electric heater in the room needs to be condemned - the smell that comes out of that thing is utterly toxic. I’d be amazed if it’s not a serious health hazard. With no viable heating options my room was freezing cold.
I was stunned to see the breakfast options and, more importantly, people eating it. Mushrooms sitting in water, undercooked eggs, luminous tomatoes. The whole selection was utterly disgusting and looked highly unsanitary.
And finally, the staff. I was met with rudeness on check-in and throughout my stay. Treating paying customers with distain is not a good luck

Had a problem with the mattress, popped down to reception and the lady was so helpful, she apologised and moved us to another room. Our new room was great.

The hotel was convenient and has parking, although you do have to pay for this per 24 hrs, so could end up quite expensive. Room was fine could do with a bit of a refresh, smell of damp and stains on carpet. Good value light buffet menu. Central busy street location so expect some noise. Perfect location for the Halls, Wolverhampton, 3 mins walk

Stupidly early checkout. Not as advertised. And room only had 1 bed. Advertised as 2

Very very friendly staff

The hotel is very close to Wolverhampton Civic or The Halls as it's now called. Room was lovely and cosy. Mattress wasn't great but for one night that doesn't really matter. Staff are lovely.

Basic accommodation. Very poor lumpy mattress. Pleasant staff. Reasonable prices at the bar.
1.5 / 5.0
Bed mattress was really worn and kept rolling into the middle. Stains on the carpet. Shower curtain looked like it hadn't been changed in years. We were given the closest room to the main road so was extra noisy even though there were plenty of empty room elsewhere in the hotel. Probably because it was easier for the room to be cleaned the next day. If you stay here request a high room towards the back of the hotel.

Room was of a poor standard, one chair for two guests, no other furniture, not even a hairdryer in the room. Two plug sockets so not able to charge devices.

Although the hotel was easy to find, the carpark wasn't. Check in was easy. Car park fees were reasonable. Lift available to all floors. Small bar but reasonable prices. Bar open til 3am, which was good as the last few hotels i have stayed in closed at 11 so no night cap. Room was small but clean and everything worked as it should. Only 1 spare socket which was on the other side of the room from the bed. 10am check out is a bit early, late check out is available for an extra £10. Staff friendly and helpful. Didnt have breakfast but it looked like a standard buffet. Would stay again.

Cheap and cheerful place to stay close to all the venues in Wolverhampton We went to the Civic and a member of staff pointed us in the right direction. All the staff were very helpful .The hotel has a bar that is open 24 hours

Terrible car park way to small, when we tried to check in they took ages to come and check us in, as the poor girl on reception also had to serve customers in the bar.
room whenwe finally git in was cold and a bit damp.
the bed was very low and the mattress was very soft and seemed to be a bit past it.

It's a Travelodge so to be honest I did not expect much.
I only chose it because I was going to the Civic Hall & I'm disabled so wanted somewhere as close as poss rather than have to mess about getting taxi's.
As always with Travelodge it was understaffed at one time there were two of them one was trying to check in guests & take food orders drink orders & serve drinks while the other was cooking & serving food.
It took forever to get food ordered & served but in no way could this be blamed on the overworked staff.
It took quite a while to warm up the room & even with the window shut there was a draft.
The wi-fi was poor again fairly normal for Travelodge & I ended up buying it online as an extra from before I threw my laptop at the wall.
As always the poor standard Travelodge breakfast of what passes for OJ a great choice of eggs ie scrambled or nothing hashbrowns that had been cooked in oil that was not hot enough so therefore soggy another Travelodge normal but at least the rest of it was edible although the toaster was more like a mini crematorium you had to watch it & hit eject.
Travelodges are normally at the bottom end of the hotel industry & normally I avoid them if I can & maybe I should have settled for the inconvenience of using taxis after all.
As good as the staff were I would not return

You get what yoi pay for. Initially i thought this was an asylum seekers refuge. The room smelled awful. When we went to reception to complain we were told that there were no other rooms as the hotel was full and we were then offered a bottle of air freshener. The room was at the front of the hotel so it was very noisy. They did give us a free breakfast, which was extremely basic.
I'd never stay there again.

Stayed for one night, for a gig at the halls. Ideal, literally 5 mins away. The staff are friendly. It’s clean enough. Our mattress was awful. And I think I felt every single spring. Parking is very limited. So get there early if you can. The bar is reasonably priced. And open late. Perfectly acceptable hotel for what we used it for.

Room could’ve been better. The lamp next to the bed fell off the wall and the TV remote did not work.

Very basic room -
Breakfast wasn’t great -
Bed was very low and matress needed replacing!!

The disabled room we were in was a health hazard. All the grab bars had been previously painted, this had then gone rusty and the rust had gone down the wall. This was a serious hazard and totally unacceptable especially since it was in a disabled room

There was blood on the bed and the kettle was absolutely filthy. Both car parks are way too small barely any room to park when busy, have complained via email to the hotel but they did not answer. This has put me and my partner off staying here in the future.

Positive-
All of the staff we came across were extremely polite, friendly and helpful.
Great location for a gig at the Uni Wulfrun Hall.
Great price for parking-£5 for 24 hours.
Room very basic but we only want somewhere to sleep so dont spend too much time in the room otherwise.
Negative-
The bed was confortable although when we got back in, we found 2 tissues when we pulled back the quilt and then noticed there were a couple of stains on the duvet cover. The bedding cant have been changed, it was clearly tucked in/straightened.
You only get 1 pillow each which werent great. Im sure they would have peobably provided additional ones if asked.
At first glance, a very reasonably priced hotel and although we dont mind basic/old, we do expect clean bedding so we wouldnt stay here again.

We had a great stay. The hotel is a little aged and could be a little clener but the beds were very comfortable, and was nice to have tea making facilities. Bathroom was nice, towels included in there. Lift a little scary!! Parking is an extra £5. We checked in early (1pm) for £10. The staff were very friendly and helpful. Would definitely stay here again!

The place was exceptionally clwan, comfotable and easy reach of Wolverhampton City Centre. Unfortunately it is on the ring road and can be noisy. Excellent value for money that being said

Got here not expecting much because of the super low price. It was warm, clean and absolutely serviced our purposes for crashing after a gig. The reception were friendly and it was easy to find our room. Only downside was one small pillow so the bed wasn't very comfortable. After bulking it up with my jumper it was ok. We didn't use the cafe.

Not very nice place to stay receptionist was rude and not very welcoming. The bed was uncomfortable, the bathroom door handle kept coming off,the toilet leaked so there was a puddle off water every time I used the bathroom. The only good thing about the Hotel was the food it was reasonably priced and good portions. They had the cheek to charge £5 for parking.I would never stay here again or in any Redwing Lodge Hotel.
