Karen in reception greeted us when we arrived, very freindly, helpful, informative and showed us to our room. She also booked a taxi for us for the evening out. The room was lovely, clean tidy and beautiful view. We had breafast in the morning, lots of choice. We would love to return to this hotel in the future. Sue and Andrew

The highlight is the the dining.
First class evening dinner. Not cheap , but worth it.
Breakfast for £10 was fabulous value.
Would come back again.

Second visit and will be back again.
A really wonderful hotel for a peaceful and relaxing break.
Near to Torquay and nearby villages, but a charming and secret hideaway with great food and friendly and attentive staff.

It was my partners birthday and we had an amazing time.
We stayed in the Coach House with a hot tub which was a real luxury.
We also had a meal in the Bay Tree Restaurant which was outstanding !

My wife and I had an excellent and comfortable stay! We were greeted at the door and taken care of as we were shown to our room. Upon arrival they gave us an upgrade to a sea view which was very kind!
Everything was brilliant, only slight issue was the lack of wifi & reception in our room (reception problem with the area, not the hotel itself). We didn’t end up trying any food though, but looked delicious.
Thank you Orestone for accommodating us!

We had such an amazing stay here. The staff were attentive and welcoming. Absolutely amazing food with fantastic service. Stunning setting and very cosy feel. Will definitely return.

A beautiful manor house with friendly staff and great sea views. Although we were in the smallest room it was really lovely with all the amenities you need including a fridge with complimentary water. The only downside would be the size of the bath towels which could have been bigger and some fresh milk instead of the capsules.
Breakfast and dinner were absolutely fantastic with great service and attention to detail. Highly recommended if you are thinking of staying in the area.

Great hotel and the staff were excellent. The hotel restaurant is superb. The breakfast is very good and great value. The dinner menu is exceptionally good as is the service.
Nice quiet location but Teignmouth and Torquay are easily accessible by car or bus.

This place may be under rated . The setting is lovely and the manor is very well maintained but the real reason to go is the food quality.it was some of the best food we had on our entire trip and they don’t promote it. I think many returning guests come for the cuisine. And make sure you go down to the Costal Pathway for a hike . You really get a feel of costal Devon . Highly recommended!

Lovely older hotel in very attractive grounds. Could do with a little updating.
Our room overlooked a roof and kitchen vent so you may want to enquire about the outlook!

Fantastic stay. Staff are friendly, welcoming and so helpful.
The room was beautiful, and the bed was really comfortable.
The food is beautiful…pre booking is essential, especially dinner as the restaurant is very popular.

This is a lovely place! The terrace looks out over the sea and a beautiful garden. A 15 minutes (steep) walk takes you to the Maidencombe cove, an idyllic cove, which is wonderful for swimming. The kitchen is excellent and all meals were delicious. Our room was cosy and individual with a large balcony. This is a magical place and we loved staying here!

The lady on reception was pleasant and friendly, she offered to upgrade us due to the hotel Being quiet for an extra £30 per night, we decided as it was my husband's birthday wto agree. We had a roof terrace with a wallpapered room, the original room had only a window and painted walls. The room was clean and nicely decorated with a comfy bed.
It stipulated that if we required a meal we would have to request this before 6.30 pm the day before. As we had been out on the Saturday walking most of the day enjoying the beautiful surroundings we arrived back at the hotel at 8.30 . We decided to have at the bar around 8.30, i explained that although we where late asking would it be possible for Sunday lunch in the 4 star Hotel the following day as it was my husband's birthday. I understood i was late asking. The guy said that they had lots of bookings and that as we had not asked 2 hours previously it may not be possible. We said we would wait on the terrace for him to check. We left after an hour to go to bed without his return.
I feel that it would have been polite to follow up our request.
We stayed for 5 nights and upgraded but then decided not to eat there as we felt the service could have been slightly more attentive.
All in all a wonderful holiday and a lovely environment.

Lovely country hotel, but dining room very dark and uninviting, they have a lovely enclosed terrace, with a view of the gardens that would be so much nicer to serve meals in and yet they use a dark and badly decorated room, so we didnt eat here because of that. The staff are fabulous and very accommodating and the rooms very large and comfortable .

Just a quick one night away in one of the new rooms with a hot hub on the balcony. very well thought out rooms with lot's of nice touches. The food in the restaurant was of very high quality with a lovely quiet atmosphere. Wish we could have stayed much longer but we plan to return for sure!

The Orestone Manor is a delightful small hotel situated just on the outskirts of Torquay with sea views and a lovely bit of isolation from the main drag.
We had a delightful weekend away with great and friendly staff.
Though we did not sample dinner with them, we did have a most excellent Afternoon Tea.
We would certainly head back if we went to Devon again.

The room was extremely hot when we arrived, I would guess 23 degrees, very unnecessary as the heating was sufficient to quickly warm the room if we needed it.

Absolutely first class hotel. We stayed in one of the suites with a hot tub and cannot be more pleased with the staff the hotel and the food. We will definitely come back.

We had a very nice room with a little garden roof area (unfortunately the weather didn't enable us to use this). A very relaxed and homely atmosphere with everything we needed. The food was excellent. There isn't a lift but that wasn't a problem for us. The staff were all helpful and friendly.

Just one night, but it was really nice.
Unfortunately, the restaurant was closed for dinner.... t would have been nice to know this beforehand.

We stayed in the hotel room with the hot tub on the balcony and it was great. Nice that the room was split level with a kitchenette and living room area upstairs and the bed and bathroom downstairs. Easy parking straight outside. Had a really relaxing stay. Food in hotel was lovely and decent portions too.

Our delayed 10 year anniversary trip away, beautiful surroundings, fabulous room, lovely staff and fantastic food.

This was our second visit. It is a lovely old building in pleasant grounds. Very close to Torquay but in the quieter and more charming area of Maidencombe. We especially love the little beach at the bottom of the admittedly very steep hill.Dinner was good and reasonably priced. Service excellent throughout.

What a wonderful hotel. Its a real place of peace, tranquility, quality and luxury. Spotlessly clean, excellent service from friendly staff, top quality restaurant with a wide range of options all available in a perfect setting. The terrace bar looks over the beautiful gardens with the sea in distance. Its hard to tear yourself away, especially with a chilled G & T in hand. I would definitely recommend this hotel for peaceful and luxurious break. Can't wait to return.

The biggest challenge this hotel has is living up to all the great reviews it gets! Despite this it somehow managed to exceed our expectations. Beautiful quiet location, short walk down a (steep) hill to the beach. Superb food (really special - noticeable number of additional diners on a Fri/Sat evening as it is a restaurant as well), wonderful service, beautiful room (room 6), staff were all lovely.

Very good, although no lift and several flights og windey stairs to get up with suitcases
