Our stay at the Hotel Plaza was exactly what we hoped for and more. It was conveniently located to the train and ferry transportation. The room was simple and clean. The staff was very friendly and helpful. I would stay here again and recommend it to my friends and family.

Ideally located hotel in Salerno. This hotel is within a 3 minute walk to the bus and train stations and a 10 minute walk to the ferry. We arrived in a rental car after driving through Puglia. We dropped our car off at Europecar which is right around the corner from the hotel (other car rental agencies are also in the same area). Salerno was the starting point for the rest of our vacation on the Amalfi Coast where we travelled via Ferry. The hotel is also perfectly located to walk around the historic area, the restaurants and shops and the waterfront which offers beautiful views of the mountains from the tree lined pedestrian walk along the gulf. The hotel offers a continental breakfast each morning with espresso coffees.

Accross the street from both the train and ferry. And on a walking street, with shops and restaurants. Rooms were 9k.

I arrived late and was greeted warmly. I was offered help with my luggage. Even though my balcony looked out on the train side, it was quiet and calm all night. Breakfast was lovely, and the people in the dining room were friendly. It’s a two-minute walk from the train station and 3 minutes from the ferry port.

Excellent Staff. Angelo at the front desk went out of the way helping us with luggage. Great location. Walking distance to Central train station to go to Pompeii, Naples and Rome. Walking distance to ferry dock for trips to the Amalfi coast. Plenty of restaurants around. Ideal place to stay for sight seeing

This is the first hotel that ever made me feel at home---like family. Everyone did what they could to make us feel welcome.
In addition, the location was perfect for the train, ferry station, and bus stop.
A beautiful breakfast spread was available every morning and topped it off.
I highly recommend staying here.

Very convenient for the station ( about 100m away) Easy check in. Very friendly staff. Plentiful varied breakfasts. This is a very nice hotel with a warm and friendly atmosphere. Ideally located for all amenities. Highly recommended.

We stayed one night and enjoyed the convenience of the proximity to the rental car return office and ferry dock. It is right in the heart of the port, opposite the train station. Although the area is chaotic, we didn’t hear the street noise in our room. A lovely buffet breakfast was a great way to start the day.

Room was very clean, good air conditioning, great location minutes from train station, close to beach, great "old town" vibe.

We loved how close the hotel was to the train. Literally seconds! The staff was friendly, breakfast delicious, area great to walk around. We struggled on selecting meals close by open later that had something besides pizza. We waited too late I guess. Not the hotels fault! Long walk to the pier to catch the ferries but it was at least a pretty walk. Overall I really loved this hotel!

Great overnight stay! We wanted to spend two days on the Amalfi Coast and this hotel was perfect! 2 minute walk from the train station and 8 minute walk to ferry to Almafi ! Super friendly staff and great value!

Only comment would be, and it’s not a complaint, is that we had no outside view at all. Would have been nice, so should have asked to change rooms maybe. Bed was comfy and breakfast was great.

Wonderful 2 night stay. Gentleman at front desk so helpful and went out of his way to show us where the laundry mart was located.

Our criteria was an affordable hotel with a front desk & relatively close to the train station. This hotel delivered precisely that. It was just across the square, not even 10 minutes easy walk. Our room faced the square & had a little balcony style window which could be opened but not sat on. There was both an outside shutter & curtains which were very effective in blocking out noise & light. We slept well & were not disturbed at all.
The room was very clean, well appointed & large enough for our needs. The included breakfast was largely continental style with the most delicious pastries & cakes. Scrambled eggs & cappuccinos were made to order & very appreciated.
The staff were friendly especially the gentleman on the front desk who we think may be the owner but we forgot his name. We tried to extend our initial stay as we enjoyed it so much, however sadly for us it was booked out. It is the perfect location for not only travel options but Is also on the corner of the lovely main street with so many shops & eateries to explore! We highly recommend this place!

Loud and noisy air conditioner.
Would have liked more cooked foods for breakfast.
Very sweet selection.
Would have liked a kettle in the room or a coffee maker.

Excellent location literally next to the train station. Nice neighborhood, pedestrian friend street with lots of upscale stores and nice restaurants and cafes. Great breakfast, clean room, quiet, helpful friendly staff. No complaints, would definitely stay there again.

We wanted a hotel in walking distance of the train station and this hotel fit the bill. We’d read good reviews about it and found them to be accurate. Great, quick check in, perfect room with a balcony on the second floor. Clean, spacious, with an A/C that worked perfectly when needed. Big shower, lots of hot water and pressure.
Breakfast on all four mornings was terrific. They make you a cappuccino if you want, and eggs to order. Otherwise, they have a full range of items from hard cooked eggs, pastries, cold cuts and cheese, yogurt, the works. You’ll be set up for a day out.
I’d recommend this hotel without any reservations/hesitation. Quiet, comfortable, and convenient.

I was surprised about this hotel. It is a very convenient location just across the train station. The room is very clean and I like the high ceilings. The breakfast has a good variety. I love it here and will come back next time when I am Salerno.

This is a beautiful hotel with a warm and welcoming staff. Our room was small, but clean and lovely. The bed was comfortable, and the breakfast room and buffet was excellent with fresh coffee made to order. We loved hearing about the family history of the owners. A delightful stay in every way!

Such a lovely surprise! The room was quiet, even being on a square by train station. Delightful breakfast with so many choices, the pastries were incredibly delicious. I love cappuccino and staff made 3 for me. This is a family owned hotel and it shows, by the love put into this centrally located hotel. We wish had a longer stay, but will this hotel be on our list, if ever return to this area of Italy.

I love this hotel. The owner, Gaetano, is fluent in English and very helpful and consistently present — he enjoys meeting and chatting with the guests, particularly in the breakfast room in the morning. The shower is much larger than most Italian showers and the hot water didn’t run out and had good pressure and the bed was much more comfortable than what I’m used to in Italy. The rooms are good-sized. The decor is understated, tasteful and charming. The breakfast buffet is quite nice and all of the hotel’s staff are very professional and accommodating. The photos on the website are accurate. It’s a quick walk from/to the train station/taxi stand and the sea, and it’s about a 15 minute walk to the medieval section of town. There’s a lovely Norman period duomo and a nice little archeological museum. The townspeople are welcoming and friendly. A side trip to Paestum (by train/car) for the 6th c. BC Greek temples and the ruins of a subsequent Roman town (abandoned due to a massive flood) is short and easy and well worth it. Be sure not to miss the small but very well done archeological museum there. I so enjoyed our Salerno visit and will definitely return to Hotel Plaza, a little gem.

This hotel has got almost everything right. The position is opposite the train station, on the end of the pedestrianised area and 200 metres from the port. We found it good value for money. We had a room overlooking the station, and yet never heard any noise. We were always greeted with a cheery "Hello" or "Buongiorno" every time we walked in to or out of the hotel. The room was well appointed and the bathroom was quite modern and practical. The room and breakfast areas were spotlessly clean, and the choice at breakfast was a good continental style. If my British palate would have had the choice of a cooked breakfast, this hotel would be perfect!

Very conveniently located, just a few steps from the train station as well as the shopping pedestrian street. Easy walk into the old town or along the ocean promenade with lots of choices for dining.
Ours included a decent buffet breakfast which was very handy.
Reasonably priced and good sized rooms with a good shower.
The wifi was a bit sketchy from time to time but nothing problematic. We would have like a few softer pillows but overall found the bed reasonably comfortable…..perhaps a little on the hard side. We would return.
