Great location in historical district. We were able to walk everywhere. Breakfast was good and staff friendly.

This is the worst ‘hotel’ we have ever stayed in. We arrived at 22.00 having received a text with instructions on how to enter the building - no reception staff. Finally we got in through the main door but could not find the electronic key card which had supposedly been left on the reception desk. We mailed and rang the number given and was finally greeted with a torrent of abuse. The lady at the end of the line refused to repay our money - didn’t ask for repayment at all just wanted access to our room. She never stopped shouting at us but eventually said she would ring around the other hotel guests to hear if they had taken our key card. This certainly did not make us feel safe. She eventually told us to take a general key card which we could use to access our room - and presumably all the other rooms! That was the last communication we had with any of the hotel staff. We used a key that we found in our room to lock the door. Our room was never cleaned in three days, we never found any bathrobes as mentioned in the booking. If you find steep and narrow steps difficult while carrying your luggage then avoid this place. There is certainly no lift, no assistance and the three flights of marble stairs are a nightmare.

Pleasant B & B with great staff and good location.
Breakfast was very good and the main room spacious

We had a large comfortable room. The hotel is an old small hotel without an elevator and the stairs are steep. Silvia was so helpful and responded via messaging very quickly. There was no one at reception except when we met her the first morning.

Silvia was excellent!

The staff, Silvia, was excellent. Anything we needed, she made it happen.

Lovely place and terrific owner! We got in late and left early, but enjoyed our time there!

The staff were incredibly friendly & helpful, even lending us an iron for the duration of our stay. It was exceptionally clean & very pleasant. We loved it there!

It was all self check-in. A little confusing at first because we thought we had to find our room key, but they had left a key card on the desk. More like a B&B (not hotel). 3rd floor room has many steps to carry suitcases. Good location. Wonderful breakfast and attentive friendly service.

A wonderful stay at Locanda del Gagini. Sylvie is lovely and very welcoming. The main bed frame is metal and squeaks. A lot.
However, overall the stay was absolutely great and highly recommended.

Locanda del Gagini was a gem located in the heart of Palermo. The staff provided excellent service, and they were always attentive to our every need. Our room was lovely, and provided everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The hotel is located in an older part of the city, and there were many things to see and do in close proximity. The central train station could be reached by foot with no issues. The additional transfer service from the airport was very helpful as well.

Snygg och mysigt i centrala Palermo. Julia, ägarinnan mycket hjälpsam. Obemannad check-in men fungerade bra. Branta trappor till rummet. Fin frukost. Vi återkommer gärna.

We had a great stay at the apartment in August. The owners communicated with us really well. All the things that we could possibly need were there. The best feature is that the apartment is located right in the center of Palermo, very close to the tourist attractions, streets with stores, restaurants and bars. This apartment is a large suite with great air conditioning. Beds are very comfortable. The breakfast was delicious! All in all, great experience in every aspect!

We have spent a few fantastic days in Palermo. Locanda del Gagini is a very nice place in the center of Palermo, very kindly and efficiently run, we had a large room and the breakfast was delicious. It felt like home, I want to thank the two young owners for all they did for us, we will definitely go back there, it's the best choice in Palermo!

This is a wonderful place to stay in Palermo! The location is ideal. The room we had was spacious and comfortable. The best part was the exceptional customer service. I was contacted soon after booking with information about check in and offer of airport shuttle service. All communications were answered promptly. The lovely host sisters Sylvia and Laura were so pleasant and engaging. They prepare an amazing breakfast with delicious homemade cakes and we enjoyed our talks with them. They love their city and gave suggestions for things to do. Highly recommend saying here and don't miss breakfast even if you don't want to eat!

We had a lovely stay at Locanda del Gagini. The place is just five minutes away walking from the main attractions, restaurants and bars. We were treated to a lovely breakfast every morning including home made cakes from the owners and she gave us great tips about where to go and what to see. , Our room was on thd second floor and very nice with a lovely wooden roof. Definitely a good place to stay.

The hotel is fairly well located in a side road from Via Roma. The Airport shuttle dropped us off about five minutes walk away. There are quite a few restaurants within a short walk and the hotel provided a map with many of the top attractions such as the Norman Palace marked so it was easy to find them. Our Room (2) was very big with a double bed and two singles with a dividing curtain between them so it is suitable for a couple with up to two children and even then it was quite a large room. The bathroom was a bit cramped and you have to step around the toilet to get out of the shower but that was a minor issue. The room also has a small balcony which most will not use but came in handy when the Easter procession passed by the hotel on Good Friday. The TV had only Italian speaking channels (my Italian is basic) and it would be nice to have some alternatives for their international guests (maybe an English news and movie channel?).
Breakfast was basic but there was enough choice there to have something different for the three breakfasts we ate here. As we were the only persons eating at 9am each morning it felt a little awkward with the owner sitting waiting for us to finish (but maybe that is just us being British :).

Our stay at the Locanda del Gagini has been wonderful. The team have gone out of their way to make us feel welcomed and taken care of. This has the friendliness and homeliness of a B&B and the professionalism of a hotel. It’s well positioned for the city and the team are happy to make suggestions and help with travel planning.
Big thank you to Laura in particular for being our main host whilst we stayed. We have had a wonderful honeymoon - thank you.

A very clean and comfortable place to call home when visiting Palermo. There's a genuine Sicilian feel throughout, from the decor to the hospitality. Sylvia, Laura and Ilaria made sure my stay was second to none. They were all very helpful with suggestions and local information. It is ideally situated near two main roads and only steps away from many local landmarks. Teatro Massimo is only a five minute walk away, as are many fine shops and restaurants. To help map out my visit, the WiFi was essential. It was fast and, more importantly, secure. Couldn't have asked for a better base to explore historic Palermo!

Great boutique hotel, close to Palmero cathedral and city center. Parking is short walk & $15 a night. The hotel itself is just off the Main Street, it’s more like a B&B very personalized.

Very central to all major sights. One street off a main avenue so it was very quiet. We saw the manager every morning so you don’t feel abandoned. Very nice antique furnishings. Very comfortable bed.

We were welcomed by the two very lovely, informative, and charming girls at the front desk after a long journey. They were incredibly enthusiastic and informative about their city and started our trip off with a local drink and warm smiles. The hotel itself is centrally located and beautifully decorated. The hotel was recently renovated and the beds are extremely comfortable. The hosts went above and beyond with making our stay perfect, they even dropped us to the station when we were running late to the airport. We would 100% recommend this hotel and will definitely come back to stay in the future.

We had a lovely time staying at Locanda del Gagini. Our hosts- sisters Laura and Sylvia- were so helpful and friendly. The hotel is in two parts- we were in a building with two separate type apartments (and therefore breakfast time only featured up to two different travelling groups and therefore service was very personal and well addressed). The first impression (on arrival late one evening) was very welcoming and organised (e.g. providing us with a local map showing attractions/restaurants). The building has been internally styled in a contemporary manner whilst retaining some of the original characteristics. Our room was very comfortable, well presented and clean. When Sylvia and Laura found out it was my partner's birthday, they made a surprise cake and left a bottle of wine from their family's local winery in our room, as a gift. We found our stay to be joyful and very friendly.

Felt like luxury at a reasonable rate, welcoming. Great cakes for breakfast, the apple pie was special. Very close to many restaurants and transport but within walking distance of many attractions. There's a restaurant close by that's popular with locals - Nonna's. Book early!

The location is in the center but hard to find a parking space. The toiletries are very small and breakfast is good enough,

The location is excellent for restaurants, site seeing, shopping. The room itself was very large with a curtain that would provide privacy if 2 couples were to share it.
3.0
The room itself was very nice. However the fridge that contained most of the breakfast items (yogurt, cheese, meat, milk) was not switched on and was very warm. And there didn't seem to be any other guests in that part of the hotel so I have no idea how long that stuff had just been sitting in a warm fridge.
Also the street outside was very noisy until well after midnight.

Beautiful property with lovely features in a great location

Checking in was different. You have to call a number provided by expedia if you check in after 3:30 / 4:00pm. Reception person will meet you there when you call. If you need assistance during the day or later in afternoon you have to call the number, there is usually no one at reception? The room & bathroom was nice, but the bed was not so conformable. We had an early flight home and I wanted information about a taxi or shuttle, but the receptionist did not speak good English and she asked me to send her an email about my questions. I was very worried about catching our flight early in the morning since the airport was 35-45 minutes away and I wasn't sure about traffic. Plus where or how do I get a taxi or shuttle.. My wife saw a taxi card on reception desk which we called and they spoke English. they picked us up and we made our flight home!

Comfortable, clean, centrally located B&B. Solicitous and friendly start. More than adequate breakfast. Comfortable, firm beds. Very loud croud and street noise on Saturday night until 1am. Other nights were fine. Reservation staff doesn’t communicate with on site staff. We had confirmed a 6pm check in but the person who was to meet us was not informed so no one was there to meet us. Only gained entry into the building through the kindness of a tenant who also called the hotel number to get someone to check us in. Other tenants helped us find the room which is located on the next block in a separate building. Also slept the first night with no sheets on one bed because the housekeeper had not been told to make up both beds. No one is available after 7pm.

Really central and 2 double rooms for the price of 1. Well-equipped, with good continental breakfast.

It was nice for the price, great ubication with a nice plus that it is parking, what makes the difference is the service provided by Ilaria, she makes you feel at home, the bed is not very comfortable and the escaletors are impossible with heavy luggage, the breakfast is really nice and Illaria makes the best coffe in all of Palermo
2.5
A perfect place to stay for a few nights in central Palermo. We stayed 3 nights and pretty much everything you might want to see is in walking distance. Nice sized room, bathroom a bit cramped but no problem. Parking could be tricky but we managed. Breakfast good too. Happy to go back.
