The hitel is in a great location and we had a great room (booked famiky room as last one wuth beach view)
Breakfast was good and staff helpful.
Few things let it down, the indoor pool area is really poor. It says to have shower before entering but showers falling apart and next to useless. Staff were on their phones and one was laid on sunbed?!
Reception staff said bar food availalbe when wr arrived but only choice was pizza and nothing else available

Rooms were clean, hotel felt to us like a 3 star, but not actually sure what starring it has at this moment! Excellent beach area. Nice restaurant and do an excellent buffet style breakfast

Really welcoming and helpful staff from reception through to cleaners through to bar, our suite was offered to us an hour early and the views, as promised, were excellent, as was the suite with an amazing view as promised. Italian restaurant - great food and friendly service.
Our only gripe were the pillows, you had three but all were roughly the width of a pitta bread, very difficult to sleep and as we were in the top level room, you'd expect better quality. But that's the only thing.

The beach is absolutely gorgeous. Sitting having a drink on the back verandah was amazing. The outside shower needs fixing, it just sprays right up high into the air. The layout of the hotel was counter intuitive. Had a really kind receptionist help me order an uber. So grateful to her. :)

Lovely beach access

Had a lovely stay. Room looking over the harbour was lovely and big but no air conditioning so needed balcony door open all night. Bathroom clean and big but unfortunately only a very mediocre shower in a bath with a curtain which was clingy. Bed lovely and big and comfortable. View lovely. Walk to troon was quite difficult for my partner who uses a stick, but i suppose should have mentioned it. Lovely being right on the beach, sand and sea were just lovely. Bar prices for lunch and drinks were very expensive as was everything around the area, which we were expecting. The staff were all young and very helpful and polite. We didn’t use the restaurant so can’t say but breakfast was good. The whole hotel building itself did have a very tired feel about it, lots of things needed juzzshing up, but on the whole a very enjoyable stay.

We were disappointed that the hotel wasn’t of the quality we were expecting for the money we had paid for 3 nights bed and breakfast. The room was clean but the bathroom very dated . The breakfast adequate but no info to tell guests that eggs and pancakes could be cooked to request. The only restaurant at the hotel was Italian , we did book for dinner one evening at The Haven ( sister hotel) but the moules weren’t hot, were replaced with less sauce and not charged for , but it spoilt our meal.

Staff could not do enough for everyone

Nice hotel right by the sea although it could use some renovation. At the moment of check in we were told that the spa is closed for the duration of our stay (2 days) for maintenance. Although we were told we could use spa facility in a sister hotel, which was some 5 mins car drive it was disappointing we were not informed of this in advance via email or telephone perhaps so we could plan our stay better. We were looking forward to use spa facilities particularly and booked our stay specifically at this hotel for that and even though I explained this to the male receptionist the hotel didn’t offer anything to compensate us in that regard which was disappointing

Fantastic location. Attention to detail needed in room - shaver sockets not useable in room 229 - reported but nothing done. Food excellent - the breakfast and Italian restaurant particularly good.

The view was lovely hotel needs a little TLC .
The sofas in the bedrooms are really old they sink so far back my Mum could not get out of it without my help .
Seating in the main areas are very low for old people .
The food in the restaurant was good but the food at Haven was really good .
Also the spa treatments at Haven hotel were really fabulous Ana did an amazing massage.
Our room was a long long way from the lift my Mum is 92 a long way to walk we were after my asking shown another room but it was not as nice as the room we had .

The hotel is right on the beach. We had a fantastic view of the sea from our room. Our room had everything we needed, although a little dusty in places. All in all a great stay.

Awful

We had an amazing time, really enjoyed the breakfast with the sea view especially. I think what marred an otherwise perfect stay was when we were served burnt pizza on the beach, that put a dent in the experience for us.

Room was fine, we upgraded and there was some staining on bathroom foor but otherwise ok. The first room and balcony was a little tired also. The Amalfi Restaurant was not good, 2 night stay and issues on both nights, long wait to take order not only us but another couple had to ask for someone to take the order. First dinner came without potatoes so had to go back, second night had tagliatelle bolognaise. The pasta was bland and tasted of pan water, no salt used in cooking understand if they have to watch salt use but please and some olive oil or butter or something. Biggest criticism though was I wanted garlic bread with mine and had to buy a £7 garlic bread which turned out to be a pizza size 8 slice bread of which I left 5 slices, please do individual portions. The breakfast restaurant at Sandbanks Hotel was fab lots of choice and cooked perfectly.

We had a great stay at sandbanks and it’s perfect for families. We’re already planning our next visit. Big room and lovely view and tasty breakfast. Right on the beach. What more can you ask for?

Needs a little bit of refurbishment and tlc. Service needs improving an example food waiting times are far too long. Fabulous location. Quality of food very good. Some of the staff are very helpful and knowledgable others not so.

What a view and what a beach! My very first visit to Sandbanks and it didn’t disappoint. The hotel is nice but sadly very dated and in much need of some TLC the rooms don’t seem to be cleaned everyday and they come and knock asking if you need anything rather than coming to clean and empty bins etc. The restaurant is nice however if you don’t like pizza then you might struggle to find something. However it was a lovely beach and touring the surrounding area was a lot of fun!

Could do with updating inside but outside and location great staff lovely food good.

The hotel has a lovely setting right opposite a lovely beach but it is a little tired. The reception staff is excellent but the opposite must be said for the staff in the main restaurant during dinner. We waited an hour for our starter. Our main meal was not what we asked for. It lacked flavour and tasted very bland. To “make up” for the lack of service, our bottle of sparkling water was not charged. The staff consisted of one experienced staff member and quite a few younger staff members who were grossly incompetent.

Enjoyed our stay at Sandbanks. Room was well equipped and spacious and right on beach
Breakfast was also good with plenty of choice
We don’t usually eat at the hotel we stay in but chose to eat in both nights during our stay. The Pizzas were excellent and our Italian met was also good

Amazing position and the staff were all really lovely. But very disappointed in the initial room we were given. We paid for a balcony sea view, yet It had a 5ft black screen you had to look over to see the sea! My wife had to stand on a stool to see over😥 we had to complain to get the room changed to 2nd floor glass screen room which was worth the extra. They just need to be more honest a say sea view if stood on a stool for some of the rooms.

You can't beat the location of Sandbanks hotel. The staff are very friendly and helpful. The food is excellent. I would not go into the swimming pool again as I found it very difficult to get in and out via the awful metal steps. As most of the guests were elderly I doubt if any of them would use the pool. The Haven pool is much safer with wide steps.

We spent one night here as we were visiting family in the area. The staff were very welcoming and courteous. Our room was very clean, spacious and was tastefully decorated/ furnished.
The price we paid was very competitive for such a lovely hotel and on top of this, we enjoyed a hearty cooked breakfast, and a swim in the indoor pool, all of which was included in the overall price. We look forward to visiting again, hopefully when the weather will be kinder and we can enjoy the sea and the golden sands outside.
Thank you.

Really enjoyed my stay. Little problem with our shower but they did change our room for an upgrade and was very happy with overall service.

Waiter /waitress were overall unfriendly. They look liked being unhappy to be working in this hotel. Breakfast room was dirty especially plinth along windows. The overall state of the hotel including furnishing, fabric and furniture looked dated.

The inside of the hotel was lovely but it looked tired on the outside. Our room was great but was let down by the bathroom. I understand the hotel is closing in October until May so maybe some improvements are being made. That said staff were delightful and location is perfect

Great location, good service, but rather tired looking building and rooms that need renovation to attract repeat business

Had a fabulous stay, the staff and facilities were awesome and whilst not the most luxurious the location and service were faultless! We will definitely return! The free upgrade and card/chocolates were appreciated adding to what can only be described as a perfect break!!

The Sandbanks Hotel’s location is fantastic, on a wonderful beach. We stayed in a balcony harbour view room which was very clean but very dated. The room was large and the balcony was fine. I understand some rooms have been refurbished but our room, 236 had not. Breakfast was tasty and all of the employees were welcoming and friendly.
