I stayed for 3 nights whilst visiting a relative in the area. I was warmly welcomed on arrival and building codes were explained. Considering the age of the building the facilities were excellent. It felt safe and secure and I would happily return.

All I needed for a quiet and comfortable stay was provided.

we were in Mirfield for a party, my mum and dads apartment only had room for my wife and I so my too adult child stayed at the Monastery. It is literally a 2 minutes drive from the centre of Mirfield. The staff were very helpful, the rooms are basic but clean and tidy. My boys didn’t use the breakfast facilities but the looked very good. and check in and out was a doddle.
we will definitely stay again😁

The host was extremely unfriendly and made faces whils showing the room. Very non cordial and non helpful host. I kept ringing the bell but was attended after 40 minutes. Extremely poor service

The outstanding feature of the B&B was the peace, I slept really well. The breakfast was simple but good, the rooms were spotless and comfortable and I will definitely go there again.

A wonderful experience staying in a monastery. The monastery and it's grounds are beautiful, spiritual and peaceful.
The room was comfortable and there was plenty of hot water.
There were many thoughtful and considerate touches which raised this stay above many other b'n'bs that we have stayed in.
We attended evensong and it was very rewarding.
The simple continental breakfast was adequate.
There are many pubs and restaurants nearby in/near Mirfield. There is also a local train station with Huddersfield being only 8 minutes away.
I would highly recommend Mirfield monastery to anyone looking for a slightly different experience.

This is a stay in rooms in a monastery, everything is sufficient nothing is extravagant.

What a lovely stay! Exactly what I needed and arrived with a very warm greeting and explained where everything was. Extremely clean and a great breakfast selection. Will definitely stay again when visiting my friends and family in the area again.

What a gem. Must admit I wasn’t expecting to be greeted by an actual monk.

Had a wonderful stay at the Monastery. Quiet and peaceful, it provided all we needed. The lady who checked us in and out was lovely. We will be back.

It was a nice place to stay. The grounds of the monastery/college are very pretty. Breakfast is do your own. Easy walk to Pub for dinner.

A beautiful B&B on the middle of 20 acres of greenland and a working Monastery!

First time staying in a monastery and would certainly recommend it. Staff were very friendly, rooms were great, showers were amazing. Brekkie choice was fairly limited but excellent for the price. Would definitely return.

I stayed on a Saturday night and just made it in time to check in before everyone disappeared into Evensong service at 6pm.
The property is beautiful, the grounds immaculate and whilst you couldn’t describe the rooms as luxurious they are clean, comfortable and have everything you need.
Breakfast was a help yourself with cereals, toast, yoghurts and eggs with fresh coffee.
I had a walk in the extensive grounds and it is peaceful and resting.
You are requested to be respectful of others who may be there in silent contemplation while about the property and not to be noisy in your room (keeping windows closed if listening to music or watching TV). This suited me fine as the reason for my trip was work and a quiet evening was perfect after a busy day!
Overall I can fault anything and will definitely stay again.

How quiet it is so peaceful. If you want to unwind it’s an amazing place

Convenient stop over for a family visit. Comfortable room, good value for money. We would certainly go back again in the future.

This is a working monastery and retreat so this should be bourne in mind when you book. The rooms are up a lot of stairs so disabilities need to be discussed directly with the monastery. Breakfast is a do it yourself meal, toast, cereal, fruit and boiled eggs you can do in the boiled egg maker. You refill the coffee filter machine yourself and instructions for this would be handy. The rooms a furnished by iKea and the bed we had was a small double. The grounds are peaceful and there are times for prayer when you will have a wait to find anyone to assist you. This is clearly explained on the door to reception. They cannot take money so pay in advance for your room.

All in all, everything was spot on, enjoyed my stay.
Some mold around the shower area, easily remedied.
A long walk through the grounds to the refectory in the dark for the Christmas Dinner and disco but torches were provided.

The visit was made worth the stay just to walk round the gardens and see in the church which was special
We will stay again definately
Only question was why the bed base was shorter than the mattress not that it was not comfortable and I worked in the bed industry

It was a joy to stay to stay here. The buildings and grounds were awesome. Lots of beautiful snowdrops. Excellent shower, simple but comfortable room, relaxed, peaceful atmosphere. Everybody we encountered - staff and other guests - were helpful & cheerful.

When booking, I thought what an original name for a B&B, however, it is a Monastery, a very interesting, peaceful and safe with lovely walks in the grounds, we were more than impressed in the change from Travelodges, we loved it. May I mention Colette, she was most helpful and welcoming, thank you.

Well arrived at 10pm unknowing that there was no bell no contact by phone and no code given. Couldn’t get anyone’s attention by phone or waving. Try to cancel both night and failed to get contact at all.
Hope you don’t charge me for something which cost me time miles stress and big disappointment!
Ps looked lovely from this side of gates.

After a tricky time spent trying to find it in the dark, we received very friendly welcome to a very peaceful and comfortable stay. The decor was basic but functional and the shower was very powerful. There were plenty of provisions and we were warm and comfortable. We will be back in the spring/summer to spend more time exploring the vast grounds

A quiet and peaceful night. However I had a problem when I phoned ahead to say I would be arriving later in the evening. My message on the answerphone was not acknowledged

I enjoyed my stay in this peaceful location and also appreciated a morning stroll round the lovely grounds. Tea and coffee facilities within the room were generous. The shower was great with plentiful hot water. At breakfast time it was good to have an alternative to milk in the form of organic soya milk.

Clean, basic but perfectly comfortable room with tea/coffee making facilities and an excellent shower. Very quiet, peaceful location. The self service breakfast was simple but quite satisfactory although we struggled a little with the egg boiler! We had very little contact with anyone after we had been met and shown to our room on arrival, and there is no check out procedure, you are merely asked to leave your key in the door as you depart. The perfect stay if you wish to be left to your own devices and experience a quiet alternative to the more usual B&B environment. Overall, very good value for money.
