They will never accommodate you on an early check-in or late check-out. It's very apparent that the hotel was once a grand hotel, but nothing is updated, rooms need repainted, windows and sliding doors need replaced and not 1 English/American tv channel to watch, but the rooms are large and spacious. It is in a good location so we continue to stay there. The dining room and buffet is also ok/average. Overall, its a decent accommodation for the price for a 4 to 5 day stay.

The check in was horrible with over a two hour delay. Arrived at 2:30 did not get a room until 5 pm. Room was cold wth a large hole at the airconditioner that allowed the cold air from outside into our room. Checked out the next day. Horrible experience.

It is a quite an old hotel. However it was a nice stay although I would not suggest walking late around at night. There is even a gym. Only two points to consider improvement: lift is too slow to wait and breakfast could include more options.

Lack of cleanness. Old hotel in need of renovation , old dirty carpet, old bed, smelly, noisy. Dangerous location with pocket thieves. Stay away

Vale a visita.

It’s okay. But a little bit dangerous around the Hotel

The location of the hotel is excellent near to all transport links, restaurants , shoppings and supermarkets. Sadly the Arouche as many áreas of the Capital is occupied by the homeless and drug addicts. A real pity, as it is the reality of the city right now.
The hotel could do with some decor updating and the breakfast would be nicer if there they varied the food slightly at least twice a week, a little creativity with the menu would go a long way.
Customer is excellent, the hole crew were very helpful
All said I would go back still,

Elevator was so slow that took me 20 minutes waiting for it.

We heard plenty of warnings about safety and vagrants on the streets in São Paulo, and confirmed on our Uber ride to the hotel that we wouldn’t want to wander around on foot in the evening. The restaurant at the hotel was good and our room was spacious, though the windows didn’t really keep out noise from the street and the beds were just fair.

Given the price, i think I would stay here again. The Hotel room was big. The bed was very comfortable. There was a lot of street noise - which to some degree is to be expected given it is in the city....but this was louder than usual. The elevators very much need a complete upgrade. They work - but often with long waits. One of the 3 of them would not stop on my floor...the button was broken. Breakfast was included and was decent. The area is a bit run down....but I did not feel unsafe. There were a number of street people - but that was true everywhere i went in the city. Hotel is about a four or five block walk from good shopping. Cafes, bars, and restaurants all around....some good and some not.

As long as we travelled as a group of 4 young female scholars invited to University of Sau Paulo for a scientific event, we had a nice surprise: instead of the regular 2 double beds we usually had in Rio and Porto Alegre, we received a charming suite of 2 bedrooms , 1 bathroom and a balcony. The staff is awesome, and the breakfasts are really good, with fresh fruits and famous brazilian pao de queijo. Travelling there in august means winter and they apparently dont know about heat systems in that part of the world, so be sure to ask for enough big blankets to face frisky nights. Except for that, it was a really great place. I plan to go again to teach next year and Ill certainly stay there again.

The staff was very helpful, always a person who spoke English available. The breakfast buffet was very good. The building is a little outdated, doe example: the elevator stopped on our floor and the door opened and closed 4 or 5 times before descending, kind of fun and charming.
Only other complaints are: no wifi in the rooms, only in the lobby and no iron and ironing board available.

Beautiful older building in a convenient location. Great city views from the balcony. At first we were given the wrong room but the staff were very helpful and corrected the mistake right away. Pay a little more for the "apartamento", it's worth it. Free wifi in the lobby only, you can pay for wifi in your room. Bathrooms are small and need remodeling (not as pictured!). Room service portions were generous. The extra large king bed seemed to be a double and twin put together, there was a noticeable bar under the mattress. Overall the staff were great, keeping our bag for us well after check out and even securing it with zip ties. There is a taxi stand just across the street and Republica metro station a short walk away. Bars and restaurants just around the corner. Will stay again.

Room was clean, surprised to get apartment style room. Hotel staff very helpful and friendly. Location was 10 minutes walk from main centre and 5 minutes to nearest Metro, so well placed for all amenities. Good sports bar next to hotel also with friendly service

The staff were very helpful and friendly, gave me as much advice as they could for me to get to my destinations, and gave opinions for attractions in the city. However, the facilities weren't as good. Internet didn't work for most of my stay there, and the equipment in fitness center seemed they could be easily broken.

We spent a few days at San Raphael Hotel during the World Cup and we loved it... The building is old but rooms are kept clean and comfortable equipped with ACs and safes...Staff were super nice and helpful from their chef (Rogirio) to their receptionists (Mina and others) who were went way out of their way to help us having a great time in Sao

WIFI Service is not free and not so good either. Breakfast was great, good location and comfortable rooms. There is a square across the hotel very sketchy be aware of that. 30 min away from Guarulhos.

Overall, it was a plesant stay at the San Raphael´s. However, my experience was made special by the hotel chef Mr Rogerio Holanda. He went around the dining tables every morning to chat with hotel guests and to ensure that their stay was comfortable. He even provided directions and gave tips on the places of attractions in Sao Paulo. He was indeed helpful and warm.
