Fine for a night — great location and inoffensive, but wouldn’t stay again. Water damage on ceiling above bed, cramped room (door wouldn’t open all the way as the bed frame was too close), shower wasn’t hot and kept falling off the stand, there was a hole in the bathroom ceiling with an ominous noose in the bathroom and the alarm system on the ground floor was beeping every 5 seconds throughout the night. The bed wasn’t uncomfortable, but the pillows were very worn and thin. Felt very dated and cheap, but the room was overall clean and fine for the price. Carpet wasn’t pinned down properly, and the lights in the stair were slow to turn on which made it pretty scary going down the steep narrow stairs. Gave haunted house vibes without the ghosts. Staff were friendly enough and not intrusive so 10/10 for the staff.
3.3
The staff are nice and welcoming and the location is not really far from the city center I was lucky with the room as they give me nice spacious room but it was cold at nights as the heating was not working and I see similar many reviews about the heating problem too been cold..
3.3
Every room share the same front door key to get in then same key for open roo., that mean every guest room use same key each other, not secure. Carpet dirty.
3.3
It was good value for money. Clean and warm, but could do with updating. But fir the price was ok to crash out for the night.
3.3
No refrigerator, slippers, toothbrush, elevator.
Close to the University of Glasgow.
Quite noisy outside till late as there is a pub in front of the hotel.
3.3
It was a basement room. When opening the curtains in the room it was it was a view if a brick wall, the room was cold and was advised that no heating would be put on as it was summer.
3.3
Very few properties have bedrooms for 3 people. Glasgow house was one of them and it was nice and cosy. The staff were very helpful
3.3
WiFi wasn't working and we both needed it for work meetings. Went to see if we could get it fixed, but were met with laziness, rudeness and a lack of care. It took almost an hour of pushing the staff to actually do something about the issue, before we were finally put in a room with WiFi. It wouldn't have been much of an issue if they had just been upfront and offered alternatives or a discount, but they didn't care and spent most of the time denying there was even an issue. Room smelled of urine. Only saving grace was the location.

Very old materials

Used to live locally when I was a student so know the area well. There are some nice places to eat and have a coffee/drink nearby. Can be loud if students are out and about but from my room it was generally quiet at night. My room was compact but comfortable and I had everything I needed and the lady at reception was kind and willing to help get anything else I may have needed. Within easy walking distance of buses and subway. Would stay here again :)
3.3
Just what I needed for an overnight stay in Glasgow,
3.3
The hotel is a bit dated but it has everything you need for a short stay. The reception staff is nice and the room was very clean and spacious. As other people have said, the same key opens the room and the door so I'm not sure how safe that system is, but other than that, it was a great stay. The location is excellent!
3.3
Accessible, helpful staff.
Spacious, warm room.
Awkwardly positioned handbasin.
Convenient location
3.3
Property very dated. Location was good as it was within minutes of underground subway to city centre. Small room and tiny bathroom. Not bad for value when considering prices of bigger hotels in area.
3.3
Convenient location. It felt like a hostel - lots of comings & goings & front door was not on slow closure so banged. Noise from street; single glazed windows. Decor: thin curtains-hems all coming down; chipped paintwork. Bathroom: door didn’t close properly; frayed carpet; cracked sink & tiles; grouting dirty; mirror worn; rusty, dented bin. Shower was powerful. Lobby area was just corridor with sliding glass window. No extra lock on bedroom door just key lock without sliding mechanism.
3.3
Hotel had basic but clean & comfortable amenities.
Owners were friendly & helpful
Good area close to nice bars & restaurants and easy to walk in to town.
Would definitely recommend & stay here again.

Not even 1 star. Stayed here 2 years ago and not so bad, now more like a homeless shelter. Private bathroom more than a 10 metre walk. Room not big enough to swing a cat. Do not stay here
3.3
We had a comfortable stay in a very convenient location, in the heart of the West End close to the subway, Kelvinbridge Park, shops, restaurants and the Botanic Gardens. The staff were always friendly and helpful.
3.3
Ok

Stayed for one night in a single en suite room. Welcome was friendly and efficient. My room was clean and comfortable with TV and tea/coffee making facilities. A bit rough round the edges but value for money was excellent.
3.3
I cancelled this due a family emergency in advance they wouldn't refund my money I thought this was shocking!!!!
3.3
A very cozy and clean guest house in a walking distance from Kelvinbridge subway and from many attractions. Wonderful and kindhearted staff members who are always willing to help.
3.3
Basic accommodation but fine you if you want to stay overnight my single room was tiny
3.3
Oh dear, where to start...
The room was in the basement, dark and damp, especially in the bathroom. Hole in the wall, a dirty nailed up curtain blocked the light out. Rat pellets were in the cupboard.
I don't know how it calls itself a three star hotel, when it doesn't provide breakfast.
Ii like to patronise local businesses, but will not ever stay there again.

I told them to on the heater and they never did . The room was cold
3.3
Good for money
3.3
nothing to dislike
3.3
The shower was good, however, thats where the good things stopped. Woke up on the first morning to a mouse in our room so asked for a new room for our 2nd night, they were very nice and accomodating and gave us a new room but i still had the fear of mice :( also in both rooms the bathroom ceilings had mould :/
3.3
Spacious and clean rooms, friendly staff, and walking distance to the university and other things.
If you’re visiting in the winter, it may get cold at night. The heaters turned off overnight both nights we stayed there and turned back on at 7 a.m. exactly. I was assured they do not turn off overnight, so maybe it was the specific room we stayed in, but they most definitely did turn off and we were all very cold.
3.3
Very basic. Couldn’t get shower to work
3.3
Basic but for the price couldn’t complain, ceiling hanging down a bit , no fridge or anything room was cold despite heater being on

I just needed somewhere cheap and private to stay overnight and all the usual city centre places were full or more expensive than I was willing to pay, so tried Glasgow house.
I booked a single room and was upgraded to a room with a double and single bed (used the single bed anyway) and that made up a little bit for the fact that there was an extra £10 for a late check in, which I felt that should have been clearly stated in description on the hotels.com website as I'd have probably booked elsewhere closer to the city centre, but apart of that I cannot fault the hotel. For the price it is good enough and most importantly clean and I couldn't care less that the plaster might have been coming off in few places, that the decor isn't modern or that the matress was too soft with a dip etc.
I think the Glasgow house is perfect for a cheap night stop off and if you require beautiful new decor/firm matress, go elsewhere and pay for the privilege.
3.3
Room was freezing cold, had to use the duvet from the other bed on top of the duvet already on the bed, tried to put the radiator on and it didn’t come on until early hours of the morning, there were exposed carpet grippers around the edge of the room, which is dangerous. And the key for the room is the same key for the front door so every room has the same key?! Doesn’t make you feel safe at all! The bathroom had a very strange and ominous looking rope hanging from the ceiling, like something from a horror film.
3.3
Excellent location, room and lovely staff 😁😁
Would definitely come back again!

Staff were friendly
3.3
Great location in the West End, extremely welcoming, friendly, and attentive staff. Enjoyed our stay in Glasgow! Good value for the money!
3.3
For the price, it was okay as long as your room is not next to the creaky staircase.
I woke up several times thinking a mice was in the roof. But it was just people going up and down the stairs.
Room was cleaned everyday.
3.3
I wanted to be in the Westend of Glasgow particularly, so I chose this, despite the other reviews.
I should not have.
Read the reviews, please don't stay.
3.3
Our stay was excellent with good room sevices which we didn't expect for the price paid. We enjoyed our stay and no regrets. But the carpet needs changing.
3.3
Everything was technically spot on for the description. I would have really loved to know if my private bathroom was an ensuite, or one I had to exit my room to use, but other than that, it was a pleasant and convenient place to stay.
