This beautiful house, built in the 1930s, was completely renovated in 2016. It is a designer house with a new interior, but with all the charm of a traditional Portuguese house. Every detail has been made with LOVE. It is located in the Banzão-Colares pine forest (Sintra), in a very private and safe area, surrounded by the beauty of Sintra forest. Wonderful beaches and many historical sites are very close. You can walk or cycle on the beach.
This two story house can accommodate 11 guests with every comfort. The first floor has two bedrooms and two bathrooms. The second floor has three more bedrooms and two bathrooms. Three crib or infant beds are available upon request. There are two living rooms (one with smart tv), a dining room and a fully equipped kitchen.
The doors are open to the living room, with garden furniture, an outdoor dining table and chairs, a kitchen near the barbecue, surrounding a beautiful pool (8 X 4 Mts) WITH FENCE PROTECTION, with 8 sun loungers + 4 garden chairs with towels.
Heated pool on request (Pool heating: EUR 25 extra charge per day). Pool heating depends on weather conditions - usually possible from April until October.
We have an additional bike rental service. It's great to go to the beach and restaurants by bike.
For children, but also for adults, we have a separate games room near the garden with ping pong and badminton. We have a children's playground in the 16 m2 garden and a wooden house that the kids will love!

We had 9 adults, children aged 7, 6,2 and newborn.
The Barca Charm house was perfect for all ages! We loved the outdoor kitchen and the pool. Wonderful communication. Sandra and Eduardo had excellent communication and recommendations for our group. Their welcome Portuguese starters and Sangria were delicious as well as the meal they prepared for us. It’s an excellent location with bus stop right outside to Sintra or the beach. Ubers were cheap and came quickly too. Easy walk to Colares for groceries and brewery.
We would stay here again and highly recommend!

The Barca Charm House was our dream come true for a 50th wedding anniversary with the whole family (12 of us). Every little thing to make your vacation special has been thought of - we loved the beautiful decor with all it's colorful accents, toys & activities for kids, deightful pool, and the ourtdoor kitchen SO much!! The location is also PERFECT for enjoying Sintra, Cabo da Roca, and all the lovely beaches and quaint coastal villages that are nearby. Colares itself is a terrific little non-touristy town - a fabulous base for our 9 days. There even is excellent bus service to the beaches and towns right at the end of our little private road!
While everything about the house gets a 10+ in our book, the best is the incredible hosts, Sandra and Eduardo. They were so attentive, right from the start - and so helpful answering our many questions. They were always quick to respond with the perfect restaurant recommendation to the best fish markets to a wonderful local place to wacth Portugal play in Euros 2024! I cannot stress how much they added to our enjoyment! We left the Charm House feeling like we now had "family" in Portugal. We'd be back in a heartbeat - it is just the BEST!!! A million thanks, Sandra and Eduardo, for helping us to have the best vacation/family reunion ever!

The owners Sandra and Eduardo were amazing. They greeted us with Portuguese appetizers and sangria at their lovely home. They were very helpful, honest, caring and thoughtful.
The house was great for our party of 12. Nine adults and 3 children. We loved the outdoor kitchen, nice extra space to hang out. The house is big and wonderful for larger groups. We were all together but everyone had their privacy at the same time. Very spacious. Very close to a bus stop with connection to Sintra. We took a train from Sintra to Lisbon, very easy. The house is located approximately 30 min walk from the beach, and the beach is beautiful. House is very well equipped, we had everything we needed. We appreciated that previous guests left spaces etc. in the pantry. Very helpful when trying to cook . I would highly recommend the house . Thank you Sandra and Eduardo for making our vacation so special. We appreciate your traditional Portuguese gift as well!!! We had an awesome time at your house.

A Barca charm house was the perfect place for our entire family to enjoy a week in beautiful Portugal. Sandra and Eduardo are the most charming hosts and so helpful. The house was supplied with everything we needed, clean, comfortable, and gorgeous. There are bikes, games, toys and an awesome heated swimming pool. So close to all the major sites and beaches. I can’t say enough about how much we enjoyed our stay!

The hosts were absolutely incredible from the moment we booked till the moment we left - they went above and beyond! Nothing was too much trouble and they made us feel so at home and comfortable. The house was fantastic and so easy to get everywhere by bus or walking. Beach and playgrounds! The kids loved playing in the pool and the sandpit and the little houses. We had such a lovely stay - thanks so much both! Would definitely recommend!

The house if just as friendly and fun as it appears in the photos. The air here is filled with birdsong and the property provides more facilities than we could ever use. The hosts welcomed us warmly and seemed available for anything we may need. This place is a great find.

Had a wonderful time at the Barca Charm House on our first trip to the beautiful country of Portugal!! Sandra and Eduardo are the perfect hosts - made us feel like family!!! They greeted us when we arrived and Sandra prepared some Portuguese food tastes for us and Eduardo made his delicious sangria. He even returned another night and left us a surprise sangria pitcher!!! The house was perfect for our family!!! The grandkids had a backyard to play in, a sand box, play market, and playhouse to enjoy!! There were toys inside too and a small table and chairs for them.Unfortunately, we were only able to enjoy the pools on two days.The home is like old Portugal. The bedrooms were all spacious and well appointed. The kitchen was perfect for dinners. The home is also close to the beach, market and pastry shop. My kids were able to walk to the market and pastry shop to get coffee in the morning, We rented a car and drove to many sites in the area. The house is centrally located which makes it easier!!

We had an amazing holiday at the charm house, good size accommodations, plenty of towels, equipment, kitchen utensils they had really thought of everything. Lovely helpful hosts. Children loved the heated pool (extra charge). Relaxing evening around the table in the outside kitchen BBQ, games, laughing and making memories. The local beach is beautiful, a good 35mim walk from the house. Local winery, shops & restaurants all a short walk away. My only concern is that in Verbo advertising it says child’s beds in bedroom 2&5 but there are none and certainly wouldn’t be room in bedroom 5 for a child’s bed.

We loved our stay here. They had thought of everything and we felt so comfortable and welcome. When we arrived our hosts made us some delicious Portuguese food and drink which made the start of our holiday even more special. The pool and outside dining area were the highlights for us, we spent many happy hours here. The location is perfect for visiting local beaches and exploring nearby historic places of interest. We had one car but found walking to the beaches and nearby supermarket very easy. We will be back. Highly recommended.

We were so happy we rented this beautiful home . Love the decorating! This place is the most perfect I have come accross in decades of travel with the nicest, kindest, most accommodating hosts. Every need had been anticipated and any question quickly answered. We had picked this house because it seemed perfect for the little kids ages 1, 2, 4 and 10 and we needed an enclosed pool. Everything we dreamed of was in the house....several cribs, strollers, high chair, children's dishes and utensils. They loved it! The play houses,sandbox and loads of toys were amazing and the kids loved it all. It's such a relief to be able to relax outside while the kids are occupied playing. Floaties and volleyball net were a big hit, and the 4 year old learned to swim here!
The outdoor kitchen was brilliant....with extra dishes, fridge and dishwasher. The hose itself is so cute and roomy with 5 lovely bedrooms , bath, big kitchen and living room and playroom. There were even English shows on tv for the kids. We were all so happy and relaxed here at our first family reunion again after Covid!
We were received with sangria and delicious Portuguese snacks ..including sausage set alight on a ceramic pig..very cute!
The next day we ordered Paella fro Sandra and what an amazing meal that was! So much to see ...beaches, Sintra, Lisbon etc. We walked to the beach or into town which was lovely. The grocery store in Colares is great..with a very good and well-priced wine selection. A wonderful stay!

We had a large group of adults and children. The house met all our needs perfectly. Sandra and Eduardo are the most incredible hosts, they go above and beyond and it is obvious the love, care and attention that has gone into Barca Charm house. Their communication was excellent, the house was so well equipped, the pool and outdoor area was a fantastic gathering spot of everyone and the children loved it. The house is a great base for exploring the local area, taking a day trip to Lisbon, enjoying the local beaches. Sandra and Eduardo did the Portuguese dinner evening with us also and it was beautiful! Overall we all loved our time at Barca Charm house and thank you so much to Sandra and Eduardo for the amazing stay, beautiful food and for taking such good care of us!!

We had a wonderful stay at this beautiful house. The owners were so helpful as soon as we booked it. Sent us many ideas for things to do while we were in Portugal and greeted us with a delicious pitcher of Sangria and some local treats. This was our first experience with Vrbo and we were very happy!

The property is really beautiful and no detail has been overlooked. It was spotlessly clean and had absolutely everything we needed. Lots within walking distance, including a really well stocked supermarket. You can get by without a car, but next time we visit we will hire one as there is so much to see in the local area. Our hosts were absolutely amazing. Nothing was too much trouble. A wholehearted recommendation.

The communication from the owners was amazing from the very first moment we booked. Nothing was too much for the owners and they helped us out with so much. Even booking a restaurant for the following day at a lovely place for someone’s birthday. We didn’t hire cars due to cost and ideally due to location I would say maybe hire or have patience for a Uber but they do come eventually. Pool was amazing and they have all towels there so no need to take. Pool was heated for a extra cost of course which I totally recommend and the maid was lovely also. Restaurants near by are great and supermarket is nearby. Basically the Villa and owners are so so kind and went above and beyond which is great as in the end I felt we made some friends. Sintra was lovely nearby and well worth a visit a few times. Def shortlist this place and then maybe reach out to the owners directly if you have any questions and I assure you they come back so quickly and are helpful. The family of 13 enjoyed it massively. ❤️

Plenty of room for our group of 7 adults and 2 children. Honestly, other than sleeping we were rarely inside the house because the outside space is so wonderful, with beautiful plantings and landscaping. The outdoor kitchen and dining area has everything you need, even a dishwasher. The kids loved the pool, table tennis, and badminton. Sandra and Eduardo are as kind and helpful as everyone has said, and we enjoyed two of their home-cooked meals and recommend them. It's an easy walk from the house to get groceries, pastries, beer, wine, etc.

Perfect house for our family
We had an amazing stay (7 adults and 4 kids), Sandra and Eduardo were such thoughtful hosts, and my only regret was not staying longer! The house is well equipped and roomy for large families with young kids, and there are so many things to do nearby. The hosts went above and beyond to make sure we were comfortable and so responsive when we needed advice about excursions, etc. Highly recommend!

Our wonderful stay at Barca Charm House
Me and my family of nine had the pleasure of staying at Barca Charm House for a week. Everything was perfect for us, the house, the garden and the swimming pool. Sandra and Eduardo are absolutely outstanding hosts. We had the warmest welcoming and you could feel that they have put their heart and soul into this place.
The Colares/Sintra area is amazing with its different beaches, castles, palaces, gardens and villages. The nature is at its very best. No need for Disney World. This is so much more.
This place will forever be in our hearts. Highly recommended!

A Gem For Families!
Sondra and Eduardo went above and beyond to make our stay exceptional. The house was very clean, and our welcome couldn’t have been better. We felt so comfortable, enjoying a well appointed kitchen, a clean and lovely outdoor pool. The house was roomy enough for 6 adults, 2 children and 2 infants. The kids had a great time in the backyard and the roomy living room was a great place for us all to gather. Together with an excellent location, I highly recommend this villa for a family vacation!

Beautiful home and great hosts
We spent a very happy family Christmas at this house with 6 adults and 2 young children. The house was comfortable for all of us, with the amenities we needed. The kids loved playing in the little houses and sandbox in the garden, and with all the toys in the play room.
The location is good for Sintra and the beach, and you can walk to a great grocery story, and into Colares town.
Our hosts were incredibly helpful and welcoming! They greeted us with a spread of local specialities, and brought us a baby bed and bath. They even helped us find a doctor, and book Covid tests. Nothing was too much trouble, and they were always friendly, welcoming, and kind.
We can't wait to come back in the summer!

The house is so beautiful and colourful, full of charm!
We received the most warning welcome from the hosts, with delicious food and great recommendations. They were so kind and wanted to help in anyway possible.
The outdoor kitchen was amazing! We ate there every day while the children play in the sweet play house and sandbox.
The residential area was nice and quiet, very nice neighbours! It is located about 15-30 minutes drive to the beach and to old Sintra.

Stay at Charm House
We had such a fantastic stay at the Charm House in Colares. Sandra and Eduardo are honestly the best hosts I’ve ever come across- they were so good at communicating, so welcoming and there for us at any time. They couldn’t have been more helpful. It is a great house, really well equipped and the pool and garden are lovely - especially if you have younger children. Great tennis table room in the garage also. There are 3 beaches within a 5-10 minutes drive so the house is really well positioned and not far from Sintra either or Guincho. Definitely recommend.

An amazing family holiday!
After having spent nearly two years apart, we had the most wonderful time at Barca Charm House. The house is beautiful and we especially appreciated the thoughtful touches throughout the property. The children especially loved the outside play areas, the adults loved the most incredibly well equipped outdoor kitchen and we all loved the pool. The location is outstanding and we really enjoyed being able to visit Sintra, Cascais, Ericeira as well as the spectacular Praia Grande. Amenities are excellent and the local restaurants are superb.
Eduardo and Sandra were incredible hosts and we were taken back by the feast they prepared on our arrival.
Thanks so much for the most wonderful family holiday - we will treasure those memories forever.

Barca charma, lives up to its name. It is the best!!
Trying to find a suitable property to accommodate our large 3 generational family, with 10 adults and 3 babies under 2 was Always going to be a tough task. However, reading the Previous reviews on Barca charma Is what made us pick this holiday villa.
Boy, were we not disappointed. Sandra and Eduardo did absolutely everything to make our holiday as good as it could be. Nothing was too much trouble for them. The house itself was just charming, traditional, but still with every piece of modern equipment that is needed for a large family group, from nespresso coffee machine, barbecue, food liquidiser, 2 dishwashers.

Sandpit snd play corner with a gorgeous sweet little child’s playhouse. Best part was the outside kitchen area, we never left there, long breakfasts and late evening meals with everybody around the table. It was magical. Apart from the Wonderful welcome favours reception, including the most delicious almond cake, Sandra and Eduardo catered for us one day, as I was celebrating a big birthday, starting with a brunch buffet with all things Portuguese
Then a gorgeous paella Portuguese style did the evening. They thought of every tiny detail, down to music on a small iPod system. What a way to spend my birthday

Accueil et Séjour très agréables
À part une chambre aveugle mal aérée en sous sol, le logement est bien aménagé. La cuisine extérieure est particulièrement agréable. Les ustensiles de cuisine, les plats et les couverts sont fournis en grande quantité de même que les serviettes de toilette et de piscine. L'amenagement extérieur est tellement agréable que nos petits enfants ont préfere jouer dans la propriété plutôt que de sortir. Et surtout, nous avons été très bien reçu par le propriétaire qui nous a offert un pot de bienvenue, puis un souvenir au moment de notre départ.

Wonderful memories of the Barca Charm House
Our family of 9 spent 2 wonderful weeks at the beautiful vacation home of Sandra and Eduardo in Colares. Everything was perfect - from the beautiful interior, the pool, the garage with the pool table and dart board and the bicycles available to us. Sandra and Eduardo were always available to answer our many questions, make suggestions and prepared delicious paella for us twice. We went home with so many great memories and will always remember our stay. A big 'obrigado' to our kind and lovely hosts.

Perfect Stay
Sandra and Eduardo were lovely hosts and greeted us with a drink and a tasty selection of food. They were friendly and gave us great recommendations for places to visit and restaurants to eat at.
The house was fantastic and clean and equipped with everything you need for a great holiday.
We chose to pay a bit extra to heat the pool which was at a perfect temperature.
We wouldn’t hesitate to recommend staying in their charming house and would definitely stay again in the future.

Great villa, great hosts, great location
From booking to returning home everything about this holiday was outstanding. Sandra and Eduardo are the most welcoming hosts providing a wealth of information before and during the holiday and a wonderful taste of Portuguese food on arrival. They went out of their way to get the property ready for our early arrival, knowing we were travelling with very young children. The villa is so well thought out and equipped and was the perfect space for our party of 8 adults and four children with ages ranging from 1-10. Any queries we had during the holiday were answered quickly.
It was so convenient to have an outdoor kitchen area next to the BBQ by the pool, where we spent most of our time.
The location is perfect for exploring, with a beautiful beach a short drive away with Ubers costing less than €5 for the journey.
Sintra is a beautiful place and we would love to go back and see more of it. If we travel as a large party again we would definitely book Barca Charm House again. I wouldn't hesitate to recommend the villa.

Summer Family Gathering
The Barca Charm House was the perfect home for our family vacation. We had two four year old and one six grandchildren and our grown children and spouses. The house easily accomadated usThe house was so well equipped with all kitchen supplies , toys for kids and adults and lots of towels for bathroom s and swimming. The best were the wonderful owners, Sandra and Eduardo. They were always available for any of our needs and were so warm and friendly ‘absolutely rent their home again.

Our family had a brilliant time at A Barca Charm House, made all the better by the lovely Sandra and Eduardo, who could not have been more friendly and helpful hosts. They also gave us the best welcome, with champagne sangria and local food. The house is great for big groups, and the outside space has been done beautifully. They have spent years renovating the house. We loved sitting in the outside ‘living room’ and using the pool, and the children loved their outside play area too. The location is great for trips to Sintra and Cascais (a must go) as well as the charming local area. There are two supermarkets very close by as well as a great little camping area with an outside pizza/burger/wine and beer area and childrens playground (and pancake/ice cream house!) nearby which you could walk to in about 25 minutes. Lots of lovely beaches with restaurants nearby too which you could walk to in 30 mins - 1 hour if you wanted to. Would definitely recommend to our family and friends.

Barca Charm House family holiday
We have just returned from a wonderful week at the Barca Charm House, a family group of 11 spanning three generations. Sandra and Eduardo are truly superhosts, their hospitality is second to none. As well as welcoming us with some delicious Portuguese food and drink they gave us lots of really helpful local information for our stay. Eduardo even contacted the rental car company on our behalf and managed to sort out an issue we had with one of our rental cars, which saved us a lot of time and stress, which was very much appreciated. The Barca Charm House is a lovely home from home in a beautiful, tranquil setting, extremely well equipped, great swimming pool and garden, perfect for a multi-generational family or group of friends. We loved every minute and hope to make a return trip one day.

Fantastic vacation in Sintra, charming house with wonderful hosts
We had a wonderful stay at the Barca Charm House. Sandra and Eduardo are so friendly and perfect hosts. They welcomed us with Sangria and a sample of delicious Portuguese food. The house binder has everything you need to assist with sightseeing and dining in the area - recommendations, pictures, and distances. Sandra and Eduardo also provided information in advance to help with the planning. The house itself is fantastic - very roomy and so charmingly decorated. It was a little too cold for us to use the pool, but the outdoor patio area is great, and our teenagers had a lot of fun playing ping pong in the garage. Five bedrooms and four bathrooms was a luxury--great for privacy with multiple families--and the bathrooms, kitchen, and laundry are modern. The house is equipped with everything you need, including staples in the kitchen; more so than any other house we have rented. We had a rental car, which was helpful to get to everything we wanted to see. The train to Lisbon is easy. It is a short walk from the house to the grocery store in Colares and a few restaurants. Our favorite places to visit in Sintra were the beaches, the Palacio de Pena, Cabo da Roca, and the Quinta de Regaleira. The Barca Charm house is highly recommended!

Wonderful hosts
The house was very comfotable and had so many lovely touches . It was really homely . The owners went to great lenghts decorating and furnishing the house , keeping it as a traditional portugese home but with 21st century comforts . It was very clean and towels and bed linen all appeared new . It was very well equipped with everything you could want .
The owners were wonderful ,greeting us and preparing typical portugese food for us on arrival . They even provided a beautiful birthday cake for me . We did not have children in our party but if you did there was a sand pit and lovely little house to play in . The pool was lovely and fenced in . The outside area was lovely,very well kept . The outside kitchen had a fridge and even a dish washer . The 4 bathrooms were very nicely tiled and very well appointed . It was a perfect house to stay in . There is so much to do in the area . There are also many excellent restuarants at resonable prices . I certainly would recommend this house and area for your next holiday . 5 star accommodation and service . We had a wonderful time ,thanks to our wonderful hosts
