We arrived late in the evening and had a warm welcome by Jacob at the Academia Residence. Our room was a good size- a king size and a queen size bed, with clean starched bedding, tea/ coffee, clean bathroom, fridge, hair dryer. It was conveniently located in the old town, literally steps from a museum that currently displays Caravaggio; shops and restaurants. We walked to the Academia Residence from the train station, which takes about 25 minutes. Much of this walk is uphill on a cobblestoned streets. We did not mind the walk, but this should be kept in mind if traveling with young children or elderly.
Overall, we loved it! Couldn’t ask for a better place to stay in Bergamo!

Beyond our expectations! The photos don’t do justice to how open, nice, and clean the rooms are. We stayed in the family room that had a lovely view and fantastic kitchen. We were dead tired from flying all day and the beds were pretty comfortable. Super friendly staff and on a quiet street. Loved this place!!!

A comfortable no frills hotel close to Bergamo historic centre. More modern inside than it appears on the photographs.

The hotel is quite small, but absolutely lovely and clean. Its in a small side street with lots of authentic shutters, massive old doors, which open in sections. It feels a little neglected, but I am sure the apartments are fabulous behind the facades. Our room was at the front...No 3. It was just as per the photos, all white with painted beams. Our breakfast was laid out on a tray for the morning. Lovely small hotel for a 3 night stay. Staff were very helpful. For Art lovers this would be a great hotel as there were lots of exhibitions, and art shops in the area.

My wife and I stayed for 5 nights and found this hotel very friendly, staff were very helpful and I even managed to have a fried egg for breakfast (even though it was not on the menu.).On the down side, Although the room was clean and tidy when we arrived, it seemed very little was done during our stay, although it is fair to say Towels were changed every day. Teas made facilities were not replenished daily and no milk was supplied.Hotel is not situated very well for guests with disabilities or unable to walk up hills, we did manage to find walking route into the lower city of Bergamo, but the older upper city would be a challenge to anyone with mobility issues. But never the less we enjoyed our stay.

Nice clean hotel at reasonable rates. Within walking distance of La Citta Alta, the must see place. .The medieval City is surrounded by 6Km of walls. Within there are narrrow winding streets full of quaint and lovely shops, bar and restaurants.
3.0
The hotel if perfect for a visit to Bergamo since it is situated very close to Bergamo Citta Alta. There is an ATM just a block away, the bus stop for the airport bus is relatively close and there is a cheese shop with a great selection just a block away. The hotel recommendable if you are staying one night in Bergamo. However, the top floor is under renovation, the elevator was out of order during our visit and if you want to check out early in the morning (before 7:30) you have to make sure to pay one day before and you may not be able to have breakfast in the hotel.

The place has been restored very well and is done up really nice. It is also a very good base to visit Bergamo Alta, which is around 20 minutes on foot uphill. Staff is young and cordial. Parking was no problem too. Very positive overall.
